Great cast, but I didn't like the pilot - I'd need to see the character work to properly judge it, and it's hard to imagine that being bad with War & Yin.
I'm on ep 1 in that endless video game of a training session which is giving me more second-hand embarassment than I've felt in a long time - is the whole series like that or does it start to focus on characters? Either that or it needs to go way OTT and get really campy, but it's taking itself way too seriously and I can't bear to watch it. I love the cast and want to want to watch it.
Wow. I really had zero expectations for this after Vice Versa, but this is amazing. It's not easy to convey that much without using your eyes, but Sea is nailing it. The music in this was perfect, that last scene where Day wanted to see Mhok's face was so well-done in what could have been schmaltzy - everything about this is so natural and feels like an authentic interaction between two men, rather than artificial archetypes - and the way Jimmy looks at Sea is so laden with vulnerability and longing - it just brings tears to my eyes. I really love this and hope it keeps up the quality of these first 4 eps.
I laughed so much while reading this. The clichés are perfect. Not the apple, the hair and the floss. 😭😭😭😂…
Thank you! If I remember correctly, and there's a good chance I don't, they mentioned that he was suffering internal bleeding in his head that was putting pressure on his brain which caused him memory loss, but for some reason they elected not to operate on him and instead dumped him into a forest where he rode horses, which is not particularly safe even for a healthy man, let alone one with internal bleeding...
I'm still on ep 3, but so far so good. What a difference a competent director and writer can make. Vice Versa was awful and neither Jimmy or Sea were good in it, despite being standouts in previous series - I still think Jimmy was one of the best things in Bad Buddy.
I'm worried because Aof's series lose steam about halfway throguh, but maybe this one will be different. I like it that it's two masculine guys for once - it feels more equal and less artificial than when there's a strict seme and uke. I appreciate that the product placement was integrated into the story, but it was still carried away and cringey. When it's so OTT I can't see how it makes people want to buy it.
Anyway, this is well done and I'm pleasantly surprised with how good it is.
That was awful. What happened to this series? It was never good, but it was entertaining. This was just a string of cliches and ridiculous plot contrivance. Kenji takes the prize as worst villain - his OTT evil laugh isn't even campy, it's just pure cringe. Plus his being stabbed in the gut survival superpower. "It's only a flesh wound."
And add "being kidnapped" to the list of things that can give an uke a fever, along with rain, sunlight, being hit with a basketball, studying for a test, taking a test, being hit in the head with a badminton shuttlecock, overtaxing himself playing chess, walking, and of course, being f@#$ed, if it doesn't hospitalize him.
That was painful to watch - even the hot pile of sex that is Meen isn't enough anymore, although I did stop hitting the +10 seconds button when he was in the shower.
It's too bad Winner isn't playing a character we cheer for because his acting is the best in this series. Cosmo is pretty good too.
I love when bls mix/break up pairings and try new ones because you get unexpected pairings like this were it actually…
I tend to think it works because of Guide - Ohm continues to have the range of a fencepost, but it works much better with a more active and funny partner who is more of an equal. If it's a mannequin who can somehow speak and someone who cries over almost anything that ever happens, it can get tedious. Ohm seems to click better with Guide, too, and one thing Ohm does have is good comic timing.
Good policy. The survival rate of BL mothers is 50% at best, and 0% for grandmothers. The only way a grandmother…
And be forgiven, even if she's caused horrific suffering or even death. 1st degree murder can always be absolved with an apology. Like in He's Coming to Me.
Well, times have changed. After Love Sick, we did get Love by Chance with a 17 year old Perth kissing and making…
I love your optimism - but if history has taught us anything, it's that opportunities to improve are rarely taken. Still, it's hard to imagine it being worse, and I have a good imagination.
Progress is 14. I really don't see there being much physical interaction there, not that I want to see it.
Fourth & Gemini were fairly new, but both had experience before taking on serious roles. Every single member of the cast for Love Sick has zero acting credits. New actors benefit from being in a production with experienced ones - like Moonlight Chicken.
One of the jobs of a good director is to make sure he has good actors, and not casting a single experienced person doesn't feel like a good sign - and I'm wondering why there's no director credit on this series...

That might have been one of the worst product placements ever. It's not easy to look cool when you're drinking soy milk.
