After Ep 1 I have absolutely no idea what's going on, but the boys sure are pretty. I'm excited to see Wayne Song again, but he was LOL overacting in Ep 1.
Hong Kong has made several BLs already in the past few years and loads of LGBT-themed movies since the mid 90s.
I can't really remember it, but I'm a Fool for You has three seasons. There's the HK version of Ossan's Love, which had a mixed reception. I thought it was OK - it had it's moments.
And there's also Hehe & He, which is about a gay guy and a straight guy as roommates - the two of them are bromantic, but the gay guy has a different boyfriend every season. I really liked the 1st season - the 2nd wasn't as good because it was too serious and the straight guy wasn't in it. S3 got back on track & the straight guy returned. It's a comedy, but dry humor instead of the slapstick in Thai stories.
That was about as much fun as an enema. I don't enjoy the story, but it's beautifully shot and the acting is pretty good. I guess all the seagulls pooping on grandma finally took it's toll.
yeah lets not translate the post-it notes bc fuck not chinese readers
He did read a few of them out loud and there were subtitles for that. Not great, but it does give you a sense of what they said - it was all light, not romantic.
I didn't enjoy their relationship in eclipse or moonlight chicken. But before watching those shows I watched tonton…
It's not as strange as following around a total stranger and writing two paragraphs to disapprove of an opinion you don't agree with and not adding anything else to the discussion, not to mention misrepresenting what I said, which is that they're underwhelming in this series, not that I hate them - I just find them boring. I like both actors and have seen them do much better.
Your post is typical of the all-or-nothing approach to these questions. If you don't love something without reservation, then you must hate it, even if you explicitly said otherwise, and because you "hate" it, people who "love" it have to take offense and attack. You'll now say something like "lol I'm not attacking calm down", which is passive-aggressive and disingenuous. If you'd come and explained why you think I'm wrong, you might have altered my opinion with an angle I hadn't seen it from, as many people have done, which is, BTW, the point of discussing things except for narcissists who need validation by hearing their opinions in an echo chamber.
I say things more than once because there are people I'm interested in discussing this with, and most people don't read more than the threads they're in and aren't going to see what I've written elsewhere.
And now I must stop procrastination from doing the tedious things in my inbox at work.
I mean "bland lead character who somehow has everyone interested in them" has been a staple in rom coms forever.…
I worked at Samsung for a while - it was in the US, so dress was casual and that makes it harder to know who's important. One of my people was Korean, and I was able to figure out how high up someone was by how deeply he bowed. He was somehow able to fold his body nearly in half without interrupting a fast stride. He was really beautiful and I had to stop myself from staring all day, and I still think of him a lot.
Anyway, I even got good at the nuances of it. It's weird for an American to bow like a Korean, but a bow that's slightly more than a nod went over very well. I have to say that of all the Asian countries, the Korean management culture is the worst, and the level of racism and sexism is shocking to a Westerner.
That was OK. It was boring and took me a long time to get through. But the last section was really good with that really well-done sequence when they were naming the store - I wonder how many takes that took.
Phumjai is a bit OTT immature, and the premise is ridiculous, but the latter doesn't bother me because it's a comedy.
It was good enough to watch Ep 2, but not good enough for me to be excited about watching Ep 2.
Some people look good with bleached hair and others don't. Offroad does, and I miss that from Our Days. I have to give it to him for playing two polar opposite characters in the two series and being convincing in both.
Why? It's a drama - what's the point of a boring couple? It's... boring. I've started ff through their scenes…
Fluff is good, just not when there's nothing else. I guess the question running through my mind is always "does this serve a plot or character development purpose?"
Some people don't like all the sex in this drama - but note that all of it has served a plot or character purpose. The writing for this is tight, and I appreciate that.
Ugh, not KristGawin (but as much Gawin as possible, please). And I feel like First & Khaotung are phoning it in…
Almost all commentary on Twitter (I mean X!) will be by people who love FirstKhao - if you find them boring or dislike them That's the problem with Twitter (I mean X!) - it's an echo chamber. Here you're going to get a wider variety of views.
But even still, the reaction to them here has been overwhelmingly positive, with a minority finding them boring. Nobody's said "they're bad actors" or "I hate FirstKhoa".
To be honest, I'm not feeling any of the couples. It's almost a porn plot without the hardcore. I've seen enough…
But it served a plot purpose, and if it were porn there would be a whole lot more penis than zero penis, and there would have been way, way less camera attention to faces. Or at least the upper faces.

That wasn't a sniff kiss, although maybe it wasn't clear onscreen. Agreed about bland characters in romcoms, but is this a romcom? If it is, the writers needs to work on their senses of humor. So far it's been a drama with one or two comedic elements like the hard-on scene.
The problem with little Jun isn't just that he's bland, he's also ridiculously clueless for an urban man in his 20s. He didn't even seem clear on what a hardon is. If you're doing a comedy, then why not have Big Jun be really stuck on Little Jun and nobody else can how that's possible? Sort of like Love Stage, where the uke's art was terrible and he was more of a prop than a person. The series somehow decided to make it a drama, which is like making MacBeth a comedy.

I don't hate them - I'm just surprised at how underwhelmed I am. They're still better than 90% of BL actors, I just don't think this is their best work.
