Actually it seems like she decided to keep the timeline on track when LZW asked how to see HYX again. Everything…
Yes! It is a drama that must be talked about. I am going to need a re-watch for sure. I watched 12 episodes in 2 days. The details in my mind are fresh(ly) jumbled lol.
Actually it seems like she decided to keep the timeline on track when LZW asked how to see HYX again. Everything…
Thank you so much for responding. I thought I had scared you off haha. Glad to know that is not the case. I regretted responding with my feelings initially because it wasn't really what I wanted to say and I really did want to know your thoughts. I didn't catch that moment of hesitation like you did, so I will have to go back to watch again. I am still a little confused by some things so I will split them up like you did.
1) CYR knows that when she died LZW didn't think HXY was real and didn't go looking for her- before we heard the boys' conversation it seemed so, but from what he says to MJJ it seems that LZW did actually believe that HXY was real. So because CYR lied, LZW no longer believed in HXY existence and thought CYR dying on new years was also a lie so he did nothing to stop her death? Does that mean that CYR lied in the previous loop? Actually it makes sense but it never occurred to me until you mentioned this point. We already know CYR went back into her body previously because that's when she writes that he is WQS, prompting HXY to go back to find him (again)So this would be in keeping with CYR preserving the timeline, whether intentionally or unintentionally. These loops are frying my brain lol. I have moments of revelation and then everything goes all spotty again.
2&3) MJJ ended up going to jail, which is how LZW ended up in the future. So she lied intentionally for this same result? Why is she letting this history repeat itself? MJJ going to jail is a trauma for both MJJ and LZW as it ends in the tragedy of suicide. As much as I was angry with CYR behavior( though I could find it somewhat understandable) I don't actually think she would be cruel to purposely put that into motion again. Maybe she will try to change her past mistake of asking MJJ to kill her( been wondering what happened there) as it seems this time she is actually meeting with the possessed class monitor. She might be thinking this sacrifice is the only thing she can do for LZW, unless it is just an act of giving up and giving in to the inevitable since she has lost hope.
4) Since she loves him, I would think she would want to protect him at all cost, rather than protecting his relationship with HXY. One thing I have really been wondering is why CYR keeps ignoring HXY about the murderer. I can think of 2 possibilities besides CYR wanting to keep the timeline. One is that she wants to live in denial as HXY for as long as possible, or two, she is making special plans(as you said) of her own to save him and MJJ that we don't know about yet.
It is plausible that CYR acted the way she did to preserve the timeline, but in the end, nothing would change and the same death and tragedy await them all. Does CYR think it is worth it because she is thinking of what LZW would want? Does she have information we don't know that makes her think no matter what she does nothing will change? Or is she unintentionally keeping in the timeline and setting the same things in motion by her natural reactions. I am really curious to find out.
Thanks for talking with me. I love this drama so much and you have some really insightful and interesting theories about it :D

I don't know why I posted a whole book lol. I apologize for my rant earlier. I have watched a lot of drama, some more sad even than this, but I don't think any have made me feel this emotional. I agree with a lot of what you said. I appreciated your response. It made me think a lot. I just don't understand how her telling LZW that HXY was something she made up was keeping in the timeline for him to see her in the future. Why would he look for someone who doesn't exist? I thought she was just lashing out in hurt and anger. CYR also seemed to be ingoring HXY about the murderer even though CYR also knows LZW gets killed by him later. Do you think CYR had some other plan in mind? The way she talked to HXY in the mirror made me think that she was only caring about her own feelings. Was there something I missed? I guess we will find out the ending soon. Biting my nails in anxiety.

I have felt sorry for her from the beginning. Being an afterthought in her family has surely shaped somewhat who she is, but what she did in pretending to be HYX was a choice and a wrong and hurtful one. It's true I didn't think from her perspective. I guess I am so angry because we just got through seeing how much LZW has had to suffer repeatedly through the years, and then he is absolutely crushed by her when she supposedly loves him. We also didn't get to hear her thoughts when she was trapped and watching this. I never really thought that deeply about her feelings of watching this all unfold. Maybe I misinterpreted her actions, but being willing to hurt someone in order to make yourself feel better is selfish in my book, and when she told him she made it all up, it seemed she was making the decision that if she can't have him, then neither can he be with HYX. I felt like she did it to hurt him and HYX like she was hurt. I do hope I am wrong about that and she had some other reasoning. Just to clarify, I have no problem with her pretending to be someone else. She was hated, passed over, ignored, insignificant. There is a reason why there is a saying" fake it until you make it." Maybe pretending to be like HYX she thought she could be like her, but becoming like her and becoming her are two different things. There is nothing wrong in wanting to be liked and be treasured, but what I find selfish is pretending to be HYX so she can be loved by LZW as HYX instead of the caring and friendship she would have received as CYR. MJJ and LZW actually cared about the real her, but it wasn't enough. She wanted LZW's love so she lied to him to get it. That is what makes me mad. Even after she knows it is tormenting him she continued to lie and hurt him. What did he do to deserve this? Rejecting her? Liking him doesn't mean she owns him, or that he owes her anything. She could have learned from HYX and tried to be more open and interested in others, and treasured the people around her more, and they also would have treasured her. Maybe she wasn't capable of this. It is sad that she couldn't see any worth in her own self. Most of the people around her never made her feel this way and the way they spoke about the old awful her was hurtful. Her lack of self -esteem is understandable. I just don't think it can justify her actions towards LZW. I do wish for a better ending for CYR. One where she learns she can be loved for her own self. It may not always be the type of love she yearned for, but I hope she can learn to accept this too, and that there is worth in not only being loved but in loving others.

Could be, and I hope this is the case, but her action in pretending to be HYX makes her seem too selfish to think this way. If LZW thinks HYX was made up, would he even ever try to find her?
jubies33 very eloquent, like the profile shots too
Can't believe I am seeing this only now hahaha. I am re-watching some of my favs and wanted to see what people are saying 2 years later. Warms my heart to hear more people gush about this brilliant drama. Thank you so much for your kind words ^.^
Thanks so much for the list! I haven't watched much kdrama in 2019. Nothing really excited me, but now( aside from Kingdom 2 and Stranger 2,which I was already waiting for with baited breath) I have a few I am anxiously waiting for in the new year!! I think Kim Seo Hyung will be perfect for her role in Nobody Knows, and holy moly does Kim Jae Wook just ooze hotness in that suit. Can't wait!
Since I have watched 16 out of 20, I guess I can understand the draw of these dramas, though most of these would go down as a guilty pleasure for me rather than the best television Japan has to offer. My favorites of the decade are hard to narrow down, but these are some:
Legal High 1&2 Quartet N no Tame ni Cold Case dele Juhan Shuttai! SPEC: Birth Unnatural Strawberry Night Ouroboros
others I enjoyed(from the list) Nigera wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu Kazoku Game Rich Man Poor Woman Ouron High School Host Club Death Note 5 ji kara 9 ji made
"...all the concubines/escorts are bffs instead of trying to kill each other.." How rare! I think I must watch this. It sounds fun! Thanks for the review :)
That psycho family needs to stop drinking the Orange juice. it's gone to their head and make them go crazy. Notice how Pin cant even go a day without her freshly squeezed cup of juice? Sugar addiction is a scary thing.
