I know shifu criticized Zhu Yan for her poor skill for the sand devil stunt she’s pulling at her wedding day…
Ikr! Zhu Yan's skillz have grown by leaps and bounds in such a short time. I thought it was actually a pretty nifty escape plan. Doesn't she deserve some praise for her creative use of magic? 😆I agree the CGI has been surprisingly good in this.
Guyss should I give this one a try? I was in the middle of watching Starry Love but somewhere in the middle I…
oh man the mortal arc is where I got obsessed with starry love haha but anyway I would say yes, try this out. The main leads are sweet and funny, the supporting characters are great. I am at ep 19 and so far no real angst. Just good fun👍
I've never liked a weak and pitiful fl, but a strong and smart one who aspires to be a feeble and beautiful lady cracks me up. The assassins are bumbling idiots and I have no idea how they weren't caught on day 1, but they are pretty funny. The first prince is growing on me too. That moment when he gave up and brought the chair with him XD The male lead with his man in matching cat's paw belts lmao. How can you not love a fellow cat lover?
The chipmunk voice was the perfect touch. The whole medicine scene had me rolling. I like the chemistry between the two actors, but the fl is especially adorable and hilarious.
This is just me running to see your review because I know I can count on you always dropping one haha. How did you write so much without any spoilers? Damn, I was struggling so hard just to write what I did. "Slow pace? For me it added to the charm of it. The even pacing, how each time they dropped a new hint, they added a few more questions, the mystery of it all, the lack of answers - for me, these are exactly the things I loved about it"<---For a drama like this, a slow reveal is the best reveal. The mystery of it all was the most appealing part. When they finally revealed the message YWJ received and it gave her response in the first ep relevance-damn that had the same impact as a punch in the face. I agree with Mu Xing being such a plot device. I guess there are always some throwaway characters needed to move the story along. Shen Yu Fei was a bit too stoic for her lord-worshipping character- it worked for Wen Ji the elder, but no so much for her I think. I found her mathematician husband more interesting, despite the math 😅 Shi Qiang is best boi❤️
I really liked her personality a lot at first, (she was like a breath of fresh air and made me laugh out loud…
I realize that's how she is written, and I don't think she is evil, but I'm finding some of her recent behaviors problematic. She seems like a good, and fun friend to have, but as a colleague, she seems untrustworthy. Maybe she will change my mind again later though. Who knows.
I love Bi Chwi, I don't understand why people finds her annoying. She always spits fact since day one, and her…

I am just assuming you have some experience in the legal field, and not through casual reading for fun XD
It's funny. I've watched Asian dramas for many years, but I still had no idea that cheating to get divorced was a thing. It seems like the writer is showing some problems that are created by the current legal system, as a result of the difficulty some people have in obtaining a divorce, and maybe challenging the idea that severe abuse and cheating are the only reason good enough to get want one.
I am a bit thrown back by how so many people are so stuck in the fact that he lied about the affair to get a divorce.…
I don't know about other states, but in mine, all that is required is that one party wishes to divorce. Knowing now that Eun Bum only resorted to that because he could not get a divorce without her consent, I have to wonder why Ha Ra would want to stay married to someone who thinks living with her is misery. It would take throwing away her pride to forcibly hold onto him after that.
the talk in the car explain that when he say his reason "it was tiring" and she said "that's really it" is this…
You are so right that little things can seem insignificant to others but can amount to a lot as they pile up day after day. Ha Ra was too selfish and inconsiderate towards him. She even seems to know and admit that now. Where I live none of these would be surprising reasons for divorce, but of course it's different in Eun Bum's case. It's totally understandable why he would feel desperate to get out of that situation.

Thanks again for clarifying. You are a wealth of information! I guess my western brain just couldn't comprehend the absolute necessity of creating a fake affair as the one and only way he could resolve the issue. It makes more sense now. I do understand his pov of giving and giving, as a people pleaser myself. It can feel like walking on eggshells when you are trying to communicate with someone who has a much stronger personality, and living like that in the long term is almost unbearable.
