Yes, it's very simple to do, and you're right it just highlights the fact they don't see it as something necessary for them to do, which is kind of alarming. At least somebody down the line should have said something but obviously, that didn't happen.
Why I am bothered by the Africa scene? Coz it's not the first time a Korean drama made a similar "mistake" and…
I couldn't tell if it was lazy or dumb or both but yeah it really isn't asking too much. If they couldn't even be bothered to care they could have delegated the task to their assistant. Not trying to say other times are ok, but I feel like if this wasn't such a common thing, people might not be as offended as they are. Kind of feels like a straw that broke a camel's back kind of deal, since I have seen worse with less response. Or maybe because it's a more popular mainstream drama it's just getting more attention because more people are watching idk.
Yes, please. Discussion is healthy and maybe we can learn something. Someone's "wrongness" does not excuse verbal…
I wonder is there a place for those in the middle somewhere? I don't know who's right or wrong anymore, and lost the will to care. I am also very tired, but I hope you are right and the arguments will fizzle out.
The sad thing about what happening in the comments section, is that it could have been approached in a different…
I don't really have anything of value to add. Just wanted to reach out and tell you that I like the way you express yourself. I found myself calming down while I was reading your comment, because it was so gentle and heartfelt. Although I don't think it's wrong for people to voice a disagreement, maybe it would be better to make their own comment, rather than picking a fight under someone who is expressing their concerns. Attempting to validate opinions at the cost of someone's feeling isn't worth the price.
You can’t single out a user a link their profile. That’s bullying.People already reported and they’ve been…
I didn't know anyone was saying that until now, I guess that's why they said in another language. yeah, there is no excuse for that. I am glad that with comments like that we are able to report it. No one needs to see such things.
One of the unfortunate side effects of social media, I find, is that it's lost all moderate response. Someone…
I agree this is an evil of social media. People are so quick to get their two cents in without a consideration of the feelings on the other side, and I find that it is affecting me as well. Where I might have been more empathetic, I start to feel apathetic after seeing all the fighting and slander on both sides. It just gets tiring to even try to care.
Ok but why are there ppl in the comments using this controversy as an excuse to just be rude to ppl you can state…
Yes, please. Discussion is healthy and maybe we can learn something. Someone's "wrongness" does not excuse verbal abuse. " ...a little too comfortable on the internet talking to ppl that ya'll don't know." - THIS! The people on the other side of these profiles no longer seem like people, because you can't see them. One of the dangers of interacting on social media is that it can lead to dehumanizing others. As soon as we do that the person on the other side of the conflict is seen as inferior or an enemy. Words carry weight. I am all for being silly sometimes, but in a serious matter I wish we all could try to be slower to speak.
First of all ,all those saying that the people raising awareness to the African issue are problematic are racist.…
Who even said that? You are misinterpreting a statement and assuming incorrectly that anyone who disagrees does so because they are koreaboo. A healthy discussion where both sides are respectful is ok. Name calling and swearing at people is not. I won't ever ask people to shut up when they have a complaint about a drama. Never have and never will. I am just one of many who are becoming rather sick of seeing a whole war going on in comments section where we come to discuss dramas that we are watching peacefully.
Oh no😩 That means that I have to avoid this comment section for a while, it’s a shame though bc I like reading…
How is not wanting to see people swearing at and insulting each other racist? Maybe stop throwing that word around so easily. It starts to lose it's meaning.
Is there a limit to how much people can you block? Cause I don’t want to read fights I want to read comments…
There is a limit (don't know how many) but I think for VIP it's unlimited..I feel you rn though. I've been on the site for 12 years without blocking and suddenly I want to erase 99 % of these comments from my eyes lol
Definitely! The last time I felt this way was Saiai and Goodbye my Princess
I haven't seen Saiai- now added to the list. Goodbye, My Princess-I spoiled myself the ending and was looking forward to it, mainly because I hated the ml and wanted to see him suffer hahaha, but it was a good drama that kept me hooked until the end. I see some people throwing away the drama after the ending, and I do understand their disappointment. To an extent, I feel the same way and wish I could take a magic eraser to my brain and scrub out the last ep, but I won't wish to erase the first 15. They were worth any pain I feel now.
I don't know about y'all, but I am just feeling blessed that I even have a drama that makes me care enough to feel any kind of way about the ending. So many dramas I finish like "whew, that's out of my way. On to the next!" but being stuck on this drama and feeling sad, happy, angry...I'll take it all if it means I connected with the story and its characters.
It made perfect sense, which isn’t the issue, though many are acting like it is, but i just see it as many fans…
Cheers to that! Despite the flaws, it's possibly the best youth/coming-of-age drama I have ever seen. It has meaning beyond just where/with who they end up. I literally spent more time taking screenshots and making gifs than actually watching the show, because I wanted to remember each moment. It was able to capture the essence of what growing up is.
