One of the reasons I never really suspected Hae Ahn of anything THAT bad is that he is the 2nd lead, and part of the love triangle. He is supposed to be either a fluffy puppy hanging around the main leads and looking for attention, or an annoying fly buzzing around the main couple, but never did I ever imagine I would see the 2nd lead smiling like a lil psycho at his brother's funeral, much less cutting off the air supply of the fl, a girl he supposedly likes, who reminds him of his mom🤣
Okay my honest opinion I really do feel bad for sha, he really didn’t deserve to go through what he did as a…
Anyone can make a mistake, and once you start a lie it just leads to more and more. It was a tragic accident caused by drunk driving and an argument. It's so sad to think that the kid might have lived, and HA wouldn't become his brother's murderer if he had only made different choices then.
There's something that bothers me about him though and makes me wonder if he was really a person with good intentions that took the wrong path. It's the way(in the last few eps) he easily seems to slip on and off a mask of innocence, and that secret smile he shows at inappropriate moments as if he is satisfied that he is getting away with it. Are his tears at his bros funeral even real? The character we have seen up until now no longer seems like his true character. The way he's been acting makes it seem like he's had psychotic tendencies that are finally being revealed. If not, was his character written inconsistently just to add suspense?
Totally agree about his childhood. No kid should have to go through that, and I feel bad for his younger self, but his current self is too twisted, scary, and manipulative. He committed crimes that really harmed others, then thinks he can go on to live happily without much remorse. He even went back to TH house after knowing it was his brother he killed. As it is, I am not sure how I feel about him having a last-minute redemption arc.
or when he was rejected and threatened to kill the one that DJ likes (he didn’t know that was TH yet). I thought…
I would say there were clues that he was connected to bros case and maybe handled it poorly in his state of panic, but not really enough to suspect 2nd lead would become a villain, at least until ep 13 when he started lying and getting rid of evidence. Sora is like a breath of fresh air
I never thought Hae Ahn's connection to Tae Hee's bro's accident was gonna be this bad T.T It's really a sad situation, but I was disgusted with how he tried to act like he didn't know at the hospital. At least he went and told what happened, but it appears he is leaving some stuff out.
ah yes. Everyone was so happy to get a cut of that dirty money, while someone else sits in prison. Even In Kyung,…
Lol yes. It is one of the many funny things in this drama. I won't make assumptions that they are going to give it to charity or back to bank victims. We were given no reason to believe they would. If the writer intended that, it would have been shown. In Kyung even looked excited to go off and study with that money so the moral of the story is...greed can ruin your life, but...in the end it brings happiness?
Don't judge me but how the 70b was injoo's money? Isn't the money her friend embezzled? The one she was sent to…
ah yes. Everyone was so happy to get a cut of that dirty money, while someone else sits in prison. Even In Kyung, who thought she was above all that greed.
This was Makjang "which is a genre I like" done riskily at the end which lead to having too much stuffs hanging,…
Exactly. There were many unanswered questions and things that just didn't make sense. I felt no chemistry between In Kyung and Jong Ho, nor did she seem to like him at all, but they got together instead of the couple everyone is rooting for. Go figure.
Similar with me. I don't have the ability to put my perceptions into such structure, so I just read reviews and…
It's nice to know I am not alone. I will leave the lengthier, in-depth writing to the ones who are more skilled with that. As long as we can still interact on our drama-watching, it's all good😉
I enjoyed reading your review! It is so well-written. You explained all your points clearly and concisely. I struggle so much to do that, which is why I rarely write them. I also tried and failed to find any meaning or depth beneath the surface. I could not understand what the writer was trying to convey. It was just empty, flashy entertainment. The way they used alcoholism as a means to an end and then abandoned it when not needed was weird and concerning, but not surprising, considering the writing in general lacked any consistency.
i don't know why but the prosecutor guy(Cha Do Won) seems suspicious.
Yesss. Every time he shows up he seems more sus. He is always lingering around the fl, trying to be helpful. He has no real reason to be there, but then he suddenly turns chatterbox and I go nahhh xD
So now, we know that Gye Hoon's sister is apparently hurt acc. to that stalker. And also, somehow, Da Hyun mentioned…
Yes, I think you are right and Da Hyun may have been with Gye Young at the time and got hurt which is why she suffered memory loss. Finding her memory could be the key. I also have no idea who took her. So many possibilities. Lee Jin Geun teasing Gye Hoon with it is making me so curious. I reject the idea that Da Hyuns mother and grandmother hurt Gye Young, but it definitely seems like they ( along with whole town) know something.
She never addressed the stalker as her brother when she was alone. All along we were shown she was talking to…
I think what she said was that she would kill anyone who hurt her donsaeng, not her brother. Because she went around showing a picture of the stalker and saying she was looking for her family, we were to assume that he was her brother. My theory had been that she was a delulu stalker of the stalker and she saw some resemblance in him to her brother that had died. I was way wrong lol, but I thought it was unlikely that he was actually her brother.
Always nice reading your well-written reviews. I've seen a number of movies in this vein, but most either leave a depressing feel or too melo that it feels fake. That's why I love the message of this one, that was relayed in that last quote here, and that it ends on a hopeful note. A little red flower- It's always nice to see a title that has a deep meaning or moment attached to it. The adventure montage was pure genius.

but actually, something felt off since he compared Dong Joo to his mom. Now it's official🤣

edit: whelp he gets worse way way worse
