Definitely a mixed bag kind of drama. Like some others are saying it would have been stronger if they stuck to the revenge plotline more clearly...I get why it didn't happen this way but I was hoping we would see more of a badass teamup with our three leads.
Despite some writing critiques it still kept me entertained which is more than I can say for some of this year's other sageuks π Not a life changing drama but I enjoyed watching every week. It introduced me to some new actors I will be looking for in the future too...(Han So Eun who played Eun Soo needs a lead role ASAP!)
The storyline is good but what's up with the kisses ,why they are doing it so badly T_T
I am honestly wondering if Bona won't (or can't? something to do with being an idol?) do full kiss scenes because it seems as though they're filming them in such a way to hide the fact that they're not actually kissing π π π π That is how awkward it looks. (I swear during the first peck she never touched his lips...)
IDK in what world a director would watch that back and give it the go ahead. Even the worst kissers in the world if directed well could manage something less head scratching.
I just watched the pre released clip for ep 13 and their kisses are not doing it for me. I don't mind if they're…
Unfortunately I agree with you. I think the blame lies on the director....such an awkwardly directed scene with the cuts and the angles. If I had directed that kiss I would have said, "no, we're doing that again" π
Yeah, it is always a bummer when that happens. Interesting but frustrating how time slot and current kdrama climate…
Yep, they really didn't have a chance π I don't know what MBC was thinking. I feel particularly bad for Woo Do Hwan...he left for the military just as he was starting to get popular, and I'm sure it must be a letdown to have your comeback drama make very little noise.
This show gives me war flashbacks to From Now On Showtime last year. Not because the dramas are in any way similar…
Yeah, it is always a bummer when that happens. Interesting but frustrating how time slot and current kdrama climate can either propel a drama to popularity or leave it to fall through the cracks...
This show is really engaging! Previews can be misleading so I won't assume anything but I am excited for the next…
Yep, it's like she said...she is happy to play the part of a villain in order to protect him. I personally find that role pretty fun for an FL. For me it's quite entertaining to watch them clash in their scenes together but still keep each other's interests in mind in private.
I loved that scene where Yeon Joo and the King were thinking about Han Su's successes and they were all smiley and full of admiration. I think the King might be a little in love with him too tbh :D
I guess I'm going to be against the grain on all opinions for this show π Episode 12 was easily my favorite so far. I loved the plotline this episode and it also had the most beautiful visual direction yet. Generally speaking I like the second half of the show better than the first, once it started to take itself a little more seriously and the sister came into play. That's rare for me.
Omg I am loving Episode 12! Why didn't I guess they would do a land rights trial?
Maybe others find this boring. For those of us who are big Six Flying Dragons (which has a lot to do with land reform) fans like me, this is so exciting π
Iβm going the opposite to most people. I donβt like the ML right now. heβs being an a$$hole and doesnβt…
I wouldn't say he doesn't deserve her but I do agree with you, it's interesting how he gets a 100% pass for behaving immaturely and irrationally when the FL gets no sympathy for her behavior. He is hurt and feels betrayed so his behaviors are understandable but FL's flawed behaviors are also understandable.
I mean, you can clearly see he doesnβt have the same values as his fatherβ¦ You are losing faith on him so…
I really don't like a pushy 'nice guy' SML so he's on thin ice but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt π I agree he's trying to go against his father!
Good point. As it's common in Kdramas including this one, a whole mind-boggling plot could be occurred between…
Yep...It seemed like a very quick escalation of him using power to secure marriage so I hope he has other more noble motives. Maybe it is wishful thinking but we'll see!
Conflicted about Ji Sun. On the one hand he would be wrong to use his power to marry Yeon Joo if she has no idea and doesn't consent to it...on the other hand by doing so he is weakening his father's power.
Remember it was the former King (Yeon Joo's father) who wanted this marriage to happen, because then Ji Sun would lose his official status and just become a husband of a Princess. This would keep Minister Yoo's power in check so he is less of a threat to the royal family. So Ji Sun is being an a$$ but also finally standing up to his father
Is it possible he and Yeon Joo will be working together? In the preview there is a part where she tells him she wants to use him. And it didn't seem like she was 100% shocked when he revealed her Princess status at the end of episode 10...
I have just binged all 10 episodes. I am so ANNOYED!!! But KHS is so FINE!!! First of all, I knew that Ji Sun…
If characters always communicated with each other on time and revealed all their secrets as they should I think we wouldn't have any costume dramas, right? π
The King needs Han Su more than Han Su needs him at this point. The poor dude has no leg to stand on. The actor is so sweet and charming that I can't help but feel so sad for him as he gets bullied by these ministers.
Does The Secret Romantic Guesthouse get better as it goes along? I watched the first episode and wasn't impressed so I stopped...but I do see that a lot of people like it!

I'm not angry. I'm having a great time!
