I thought it was okay, even quite good, until around episode 30, but after that it wasn't that good until the end. Just clichés after clichés. Especyally, the way they make Se Min character pretendedly changed doesn't make sense at all. Too bad, it was good at first but in the end I'm quite disappointed.
No sub for the moment so it's necessary to understand Korean to watch it well. It's actually a cute romance for a short web drama like this. And very nice for food lovers. ^^ Choi Si Hun really have an angel face.
I really don’t understand why the most attractive men choose Ji-a, the least attractive person to me over there…
Well, she has her charm and she knows how to handle a man who is head over heels for her obvisouly. But she doesn't look like she is honest because between what she said to Hyun Joong in private (she actually seems quite honest at that moment) and how she talks to Si Hun there is a huge difference. Either she's is a player who smooth talk all guys or she doesn't want to hurt others and thinks it is better to not say things straightforwardly.
The bad writing is being covered up with political satire apparently. So if you view it as satire, then nothing…
I personally don't think it's bad writing, because every time I feel like the development is lacking in something, it goes back to a very high excitement after (Dr. Kang for example). That's just a very twisted scenario I guess. It's kind of frustrating to watch but I like it in general and in this case too so far. Controversy can still be seen for any drama with any subject. It's always the same. And if there is no need to talk about it, then don't mention it... But if you do want to talk about it, I would be happy to exchange intelligently on the subject. The initial controversy, as I wrote, was regarding the Democratic movement of 1987, and so far, this drama has nothing to do with it, as JTBC stated. That's it. People started to find others things after of course, but the more I watch the more I'm convinced that it's groundless as I don't see anything in the drama supporting the claims of the protesters.
So in the end it's basically a political/action drama that should be tagged with spies and hostage situation (didn't though that this situation would last so long). ^^ There is barely any romance (the tension is great and with this acting so good we want more !), with a lot of roller-coaster feelings regarding the development. Yes, mixed feelings. It's really great for the acting, but there are some little shortcomings regarding the story, I don't know how to deal with the humour and the sarcasm here, but I really like it overall in the same time. Quite strange haha. Still, I can't wait for next week-end episodes. (P.S. : The more I watch, the more I find the initial "controversy" utterly ridiculous and even outrageous in a way.)
I'm glad they wrapped up things with Deok Im's brother. I was afraid it would be left to the short things we had many episodes before. It was needed. And the scene with her nephew was really good too. Also, record for the ratings of the last two episodes ! Junho dancing 우리 집 in dragon robe is coming~! ^^
Of course in the context of the time, she married late, since they were pro child marriage at the time, and getting…
Well, Jun Ho and Se Young both said that they cried a lot when they read the script of the last episodes and that they want to watch it alone, so there is a big chance that it will end like the reality in the drama.
I always found it funny that those who opposed Yi-San’s ascending the throne used the excuse that they didn’t…
That's actually quite often the case in sageuk, these irrational reasonings. ^^ Which is quite accurate regarding History and show well how much power some factions could have over the king in Joseon era.
Well, I drop at ep 14😂. I always like this when I annoyed w characters even I watch almost more than half episode.…
I'm quite surprised by people who can stop watching a drama after watching most of it. Even when I'm disappointed, if I reached that point, I will just watch until the end and be really sad or angry about what it became. I'm too curious to drop a drama this late, I only do it at the beginning. ^^
I was obsessed with this show when it first started, but ever since episode 11 when he started becoming king it…
I kind of agree with you. It was set to become my new 10 stars drama but it lost some points around episode 12/13. However I think the latest episode put it back on track for a good end. I don't know how different the novel is different from History, but if the main events are the same, it is a sad story anyway in the end.
100% agree with you, plus I do understand why Deokim would reject him eventho he hot :)
Well, Deok Im raisons don't make sense for some people. I think it's pointless to try to understand or not actually, it's a character based on an historic figure. And the drama will not change anyway. ^^ I personally think that her reasons don't make sense in the drama, especially because in the end they will be together, but I think it was necessary too for the scenario.
Personally it was not a worry for me, but now it's sure, the drama will air until the end, and that's for the best. I'm actually more worried about how the story will evolve in the next episodes. ^^ Because right now it seems like there is no turning back for Soo Ho and Young Ro.
I wonder if they will recoup some sponsors ( what does the loss of sponsors even mean for a pre-produced drama?)
Not much indeed. Maybe some editing needed if there is products placements. But, unlike the English titles seen on different websites, it was not "dozens" brands that withdrew, just a few, and no major ones. JTBC will not go bankrupt over this. ^^ And by the end of Snowdrop it will be forgotten. I'm sure they will make money out of it, even with this fuss around it.
I'm wondering, why do you want to know that in advance ? ^^
Ok. ^^ Well, that's the case here. But even if San and Deok Ro's relationship is special because of their history together, they don't look that close and Deak Ro is played as an annoying character from the start in the drama so the betrayal didn't bothered me that much (for me there is no bromance).
Yes, the aesthetic of this drama is superb. Of course it's a sageuk so it's always pleasing to the eyes. But the work on light and shadow and colors in "The Red Sleeve" is really beautiful. One thing also that is particularly noticeable in the behind the scenes videos : the quality of the costumes.
