So when he does magazine photo shoots that’s the same as acting to you?!? If he were a voice only actor then your statement would have merit. Top Stage and screen actors, in China and globally, sell their physical image and their acting skills; this is especially true when they are considered leads and not character actors.

His image on camera and in photos hoots is this private life; it’s part of the business that he sells to us…his consumers. As for his mom being ill, I hope she gets better soon. He looks 1000% healthier in this week’s photoshoots for Fendi so whatever he’s doing I hope he keeps doing it. I’m so happy to see him looking better.

She’s not especially well connected in China because she isn’t from a rich family and she didn’t graduate from the Beijing Dance Academy or School of Drama so that’s impacting her. She has a beautiful face, dynamite figure, and she has real athletic talent, unlike many of her peers, so she can convincingly deliver her action and dance scenes. We’ll have to see if the role of Lord Pei Si Jing will change things. There’s also a contingent in China that appears to be threatened by her because they continue to sabotage her including making up fake videos. It’s weird.

She’s definitely more popular overseas even though she hasn’t been promoted as heavily as many of her peers yet. I think a lot of that has to do with her performance in Falling Into Your Smile. Although, it was released nearly 5 years ago, it is still is the 2nd highest rated Cdrama ever released on Viki and the 6th highest on YouTube. I have also read it’s in the Top 5 on Netflix. I’m hoping that overseas Producers will capitalize soon on her international appeal and cast her in something like John Wick or Marvel.

I don’t have any experience with how other agencies handle situations like this so I’m not blaming Yuehua. Someone or someones definitely have it out for CX, and that’s been the case for several years. I don’t know about libel and slander laws in China, however it seems like those offenses are treated more seriously there than they are in the West. If so, then I hope she starts suing these people.

Theres no “freedom of expression” in Western countries. Look at what happening to pro-Palestinian, anti-genocide protesters in Germany and especially in the US. Heck look at what happened under Trump in Washington DC. Those pics of him stationing armed troops against protestors on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial aren’t from a dystopian movie. That actually happened.

Countries like the US, Canada, Australia, etc. don’t care about Uighur rights. If they did, then they’d fix the gross amounts of racism and abuse happening to the Native Americans first. They are just using Uighurs as a tool to ridicule a country they don’t like and can’t easily compete against.

First off, if you live in a Western country, then you are living in a country that not only vocally supports genocide, but that arms those committing genocide. Worse, they are only willing to use the word, “genocide” when that slaughter happens to whites or when it’s brown on brown crime. And, if that Western country is outside of Europe, then you are supporting a country that used genocide to claim land that wasn’t theirs. And anyone from the entertainment industry, or any other industry, that points out this hypocrisy is automatically blacklisted.

That’s a shame and it should be investigated by the Communist Party because recognition and opportunities are supposed to be about talent not pedigree. It actually sounds worse than the Oscars. I just read that some of his fans are so mad that they’re harassing the one person that received a nomination. I don’t think that’s right because it’s unlikely to be his fault. However, the Magnolia awards committee needs some type of review because nominating Wang Yang without nominating Wang Yibo or Li Qin makes no sense. I feel that jealousy at WY’s overwhelming popularity has a lot to do with it. I also wonder if there isn’t resentment to his agency because it’s one of the few female run businesses in China. I noticed that Weibo and several other platforms don’t promote her artists as much as they do other artists.

I think he and Li Qin were wronged at the Magnolia Awards nominations. They both deserved nominations for War of Faith.

He was never this unhealthily thin in his pure modeling days. Never. The only person that looked more unhealthy was Gulnazar; she was absolutely skeletal. I had a classmate that was hospitalized 7 times for anorexia in college, and the bones appearing in the neck or overly skinny arms are always among the first signs that something is wrong.

Of course, I’ll support it and him. I’ll also continue to worry about his health…mental and physical. I hope you will do the same. I feel like he’s being asked to conform to the physique of some of his peers and that’s plain stupid. He should be allowed to be his own person.

I think he has the acting talent to do so much more than he’s doing now and I would love to see him in edgier roles (not bad guy roles, just edgier). I’d love to see him in a role like Shikishima from Godzilla Minus One. I think he has the emotional range to kill that type of role. But first he needs to have confidence in his look and his talent regardless of what his peers are doing.
