I know this might be a little late, but a fun cultural fact:

In Thailand, wedding is usually divided into 2 ceremonies: the engagement and the wedding itself. During the engagement ceremonies, it is tradition to keep the bride hidden inside and have the groom parade in with his friends, family and endowments for the bride's family. During the parade in, the bride's friends and family will put on a series of "gates" of test as a game to test the groom's love for the bride. It's usually nothing serious, and what happened during the series of "gates of test" in this engagement ceremony is not dissimilar to what Joke, Pran's fifth-year peer mentor did to Pat in ep.10, hitting him with questions and forcing him to do crazy things (usually involve shouting) to show his resolve. After the test is cleared (and it's not that hard to clear since it's just for show), the groom can meet the bride and proceed with the engagement where they ask for blessing from their parents and elderly members of their family.

And because that scene in front of the faculty, it brings certain initiation/welcoming ceremony/sotus vibe to it by having seniors put on a tough act to "welcome" freshmen into the faculty family. It's like 2 events smash into one.

Mira and Ren were actually boyfriend/girlfriend, but because she decided to go to France for her studies to become…
But after the three girls said that, Gorya did ask Mira and Mira said that she and Ren wasn't really dating.

I haven't watched other versions of HanaDan yet. I only watched the Taiwan version from like super long time ago and can't remember anything at all, but one thing I know is that.... if you watched GMMTV's shows, you know that June always play sus girl characters for some reason, and that's the only reason why I feel like I don't fully trust this girl. Hana on ep2 almost win me over, but what I'm fearing starting to rear its head in ep3 Hana.

Something I love about F4 Thailand is it's brought out my people, the ones who are addicted to the HYD franchise…
It's interesting because I remember on earlier days that they announce F4 Thailand, there are also thai threads discussing and dissecting the outdated and problematic stuffs with this story throughout each version of adaptation too. I don't know if that thread was genuinely made for discussion or just another pr move but I am reminded of that thread's existence a lot when seeing people talking about how this version is different. And I found people looking at all the easter eggs that pay homage to other versions in this versions too, so it could be possible that they really do understand the story.

I don't know if this is related, but about the school's name, Kocher, with the saying "Salt of the earth, light of the world." There's a saying in thai that goes "Uphold your virtue like salt that never lose its saltiness." I'm not sure if other cultures view salt in this way, but when I saw that motto and the school name, I am reminded of that saying.

Okay, I just watched the first ep. and I watched some reactions and I think the sub is doing some lines a bit injustice here.
One line was when the man from diplomacy department asked White "do you want books to study for the tests?" I've seen people thrown off and confused by the sound effect to this line, but the underlying message here is more like "do you want to know what's on the test beforehand?" which is basically using connection with the inside man to know what's going to be on the test. I know it's not harmful in nature since government exam should be well-known to people anyway and should be tutor school for this thing, but the phrasing and the sound effect suggest that it's cheating. And considering what's talked about in this show about social critic and corruption, I don't think it's such a far-fetched idea.

It's fun seeing character named Black and White lol. As a Thai, I was kinda doubtful about those names, but with White Nawat, White doesn't seems that far-fetched of a name, but I still can't with Black, lol. And I'm pretty sure what I'm saying is gonna be pretty weird to an english native speaker anyway cuz Thai nick names are already weird, lol.

Anyway, I miss OffGun. I need to catch up with this show now during holidays.

Hi, not sure if anyone still wanna know about this lol. I'm the maker of the name translation thread and after the show ended, I had one name left untranslated which is Tian's last name. I finally found some answers today that satisfy me so, at last, I can finish what I'd started all those times ago. I posted in the thread already, and thank you for anyone who's still waiting.

Gonna come here and comment this info cuz I think it's interesting.Midnight Chicken, along with Never Let Me Go…
The screenwriter for both of those shows are also Kittisak Kongka or NINEPINTA. His past works includes Bad Buddy, The Player. He is also an author and screenwriter of Enchante and MGYG.

Gonna come here and comment this info cuz I think it's interesting.

Midnight Chicken, along with Never Let Me Go might be the first "proper" bl form GMMTV that has original script, not adapted from a novel.
Midnight Chicken was conceptualized by Jojo Tichakorn for 4 years before resting assured in the hand of Director Aof.

I'm so excited that this is probably one of the first bl never adapted from novel, so it will be really different from all other bl works from GMMTV so far.

I feel like I might be in the minority(not sure), but I don't think that Pa, Pat's sister is a shipper like I've seen some people said. I always see the way she said "soulmate" in ep1 to be sarcasm rather than actually shipping. I know that in these kinds of shows, the girls seem to always be a shipper or villain, but I don't see that vibe here, so I am not convinced....unless the future episodes can prove me wrong.

A very nice observation. It ties in well with the Jinx theory you had earlier too and it made it into Pran ready…
you do have a point about Pat's character. This is giving me something to think about. I'm actually thinking into what the ep4 preview with Pat asking Pran when he'll crash at this place and wonder how that will play out.

A few observations regarding episode 3Pat goes onto tease Pran about missing him at least 2-3 times in the episode"If…
A very nice observation. It ties in well with the Jinx theory you had earlier too and it made it into Pran ready to shun Pat off the second Pat's jinx started to work its way. He's been saying that since ep1 and ep2 where he went "it never ended well when I'm with you." Like, at least once per episode. (Tho not technically ep3 since the Jinx thing is translator choice than what Pran actually said, but the subtext kinda there albeit fainter). And it also reminds me of how in ep2, when Pran went to Pat's room, he was starting the fight with Pat and he's the one who bring up terms like "bad luck" there.

For this episode, I actually interpreted thst scene you mentioned as Pat already knew Pran likes him and he's testing/teasing it out by throwing in those lines before recontextualize it. I've noticed that Pat did that a lot in this episode where he kinda feel like try flirting with him but also leaving room for Pran not to feel too awkward about the situation. My theory is that Pran wasn't sure yet what Pat's feeling is but Pat knows.

ARE PA AND ING GOING TO BE LESBIANS OR JUST FRIENDS???????/
not sure but the lesbian vibe is pretty strong in this one. And the fact that in one interview they were nervous that Love who played as Pa will spoil something.

This is so extremely lame. NOTHING original in the plot, whatsoever. Nanon and Ohm are too mature to be playing…
I agree that it feels more like a high school story set at a university.

Why do I praise actors Ohm and Nanon?Nanon didn't need a BL series to ascend to success. He did that after years…
Yeah, and their chemistry that they utilize from their experience as friends really make the show stand out.

I really like that it wasn't that they need to do another BL, but it was P'Aof's choice that in his eyes, these two are the best fit for the characters. Nanon wasn't even considering BL but was convinced after P'Aof asked him because he trusted in p'Aof's team, and Ohm wasn't going to do another BL but accepted the role because he just wanted to work with Nanon. That's a pretty clear indicator that they weren't in it for fame, but they're in it to portray and work with people they like working with.
