Am I the only who think Aey actually was pursuing Gene? His action is a bit sus from the start, but after I consider the possibility that Aey might actually like Gene, it all made more sense?

I'm here for Aey, lol. I love his energy. I can't help but channel some of that energy everytime he's on screen. And from the look of it, it seems like Aey is into some kinky stuff. It felt like Aey likes Gene and is actually get the hot for Gene more after finding out that he's not so "nice" (whatever that means to him) of a person he first assumed.

Even tho I said I'd cut Kao some slack because of how his character's microexpression-thingy might be designed that way seeing from how him and his child actor act in such similar manner, I still think there're some moments in this episode that he's bit more stiff, lol. I just wish he could relaxed a little more, especially compare to how natural Up is. I also notice that Kao likes to gape first before saying lines in this role. His eyes still express feeling really well tho. But boy, this episode he was really hot. He made me fallen for him a lot. I know I said this everytime like it's something big and bad, but it's actually just a minor thing that

I have to wonder how Nueng deal with his brother tho. That whole dinner scenes was really funny. And it seems like Gene like Korean food? He be eating Korean bbq when he's with Sib, and now he got Tteokbokki and kimbap. (He literally said the word "tteok")

I find this episode to be the most enjoyable one yet.

Does anyone else feel that the traits of child characters of gene and sib should have been interchanged coz sib…
interesting.... because I actually has opposite opinion, lol. I think the personality of both of them are really them, especially Nubsib. I find Nubsib a bit self-centered and likes to get what he want at his core. Sib as a kid was not expressively naughty or self-centered but he wants what he wants. There might not be much action to support this, but the tone of his voice that he use with Gene during the argument over dragons scene really match his older version's more spoiled moment that was directed toward other people that's not Gene. This traits carry over to his adulthood as he find new ways to get what he wants. When he spoil Gene, that doesn't count, because he want that too. He probably learned to be more confident with himself growing up. While Gene is more idealistic and imaginative. He protected Nubsib because he knew that it was him that's in the wrong, which carry over to his later life with him sticking to his own opinions. I do find that early life Gene seems to be more out-going and open than his older self tho.

There're many things to unpack here, lol.

1. I think I can cut Kao's acting some slack now. Like, I get what was going on now. He was acting exactly like his kid version. The tone in his voice and the mannerism and has a bit of a spoiled side was an exact match. Now, when I see Kao's acting as Nubsib, it remind me to his kid version, and now everything kinda make sense. Now I can't unsee him as giant little kid who hasn't really grow up much inside, lol. He really doesn't change.

2. This is just a tiny thing for me, but I like how the characters' background was shown and it actually make this show less of a writer's self-insert novel....

3. I was actually underwhelmed by the reveal last episode a bit in term of Gene's memory. I would cut him some slack if the Nubsib had a more plain common name, but I don't think anyone had a name like that, and you would find it hard to encounter someone with the name Nubsib in Thailand. Like his real first name is Nubsib... you can't get anymore unique than that. However, the flashback made it better in the fact that no one actually call him Nubsib, but just Sib (I noticed the sub always use Nubsib tho.) Sib is still not that common of a nickname, but it's a more plausible name than Nubsib, plus it's a nickname, so I'll give them pass. His brother's nickname is Nueng anyway, so it's a matching set I guess. (Nueng for 1 and Sib for 10)

4. As a fun fact....
When Gene said to Nubsib to drop the gentleman/nice kid act and say whatever's on his mind, Nubsib said he wanna kiss Gene, right? After that, he continued saying another line with the eng sub saying "I want Gene." I don't think it's obvious enough... but in thai, he basically said he wanna have sex with Gene. (It's more like "I wanna get down with Gene" kinda line, but yeah, bottomline is he wanna get it.)

5. Another fun fact.... that you may or may not know...
There're 2 meaning to the show's title in thai, นับสิบจะจูบ(Nubsib ja joob).
- It can mean "Nubsib will kiss."
- However, the phrase Nubsib also mean "counting ten/count to ten." So another meaning of the title is "Count to ten, (and I) will kiss." Hence why the opening song is with those lyrics, playing with the show's name, and why there's that gimmick with Gene and Sib in the flashback scene. Also, in the novel that Gene's writing now, he's using Nub Nueng(Count 1) for Chapter 1 instead of the word "chapter" for gimmick-sake.

6. I know there're many writers that use their own experience as inspiration..... but Gene, honey, at this point, it's not a novel anymore, but an auto-biography, lol. It just hit toooo close to home now.

7. Love the episode so far. My simping for Kao has weirdly and unexpectedly gone up another level.

I think Gene father was weird to think that there is something going on with kids. Its not like they were caught…
While I do agree tho, that the situation wasn't that suspiciously gay, the irony is that it turn out to be true, lol. Sib does have feelings for Gene.

Gene was blindsided. Nubsib remembers him and has from the start. Gene also said that Nubsib knew he couldn't…
to be fair, the word in thai is not gender-specific. If the subs said boyfriend or girlfriend, that's up to the translator to decide on the context which one to use. Tho husband and wife does. If that was a message, I think it'd be more of a hint coming from translator than the actual script.

Correct me if I am wrong but is Seymork and Mhok the same character?
same, just different way of transliteration

Also, this is a small trivia, but when Tum was tinkering with his car and Tiffy came in to help say "Tum, Tum, what's wrong with the car" or something, that was a reference to an old engine oil commercial back in the days that still linger around as a meme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KllaaE9PpMM
Realizing that the dialogue was similar to such meme-ic ads, Tiffy was gonna throw the punchline of "why don't you use oil from Daikyou brand?" but was stopped by Tum, commenting that aren't the joke a bit old.
This is why a lot of Thai reactors will laugh at this, because they're kinda thinking about it, too.

God, this episode's sub is doing a disservice to the show. I might pitch myself in as a translator on a cheaper rate at this point. This episode overall is....on a sloppier side.

Tum's acting is not really there most of the time, but it worked for what it is to certain level, except when he talked about his own family issue that he started to feel like he's immersed. Tiffy's alright, except for her "shipping-face-wiping moment" with Tum that felt a bit forced. Her dialogue, tho, is a bit stereotypical. It made sense for her background, tho. I don't know.
I think I started to like Kao's sweet-toward-Gene acting more because he's really becoming more charming and more natural, I guess (esp. in the product placement scene), but he's still stiff and awkward when he switched into an interact-with-everyone-else mode. I like that it's more confirmed in this episode, even if it's through Tum's dialogue, as it should've been more noticeable since ep2.
A small scene with Mhok is a bit weird. I don't get much why Gene would answer that way in this point of a story, and the actor of Mhok didn't really give us much in term of acting. Like, I don't get why he's there. If he's there to give Gene a warning, then it's not really showing in his acting. And there's this one shot where the camera linger on Mhok's face for quite some time despite the fact that it's Gene who's saying the lines and Mhok still not giving any meaningful reaction to that. I guess it's probably because he's hot. If that's really the case, then I can get behind. I like him, lol.

Up is truly carrying this show. His acting is really good.
And it's nice to see Poppy's role finally. He's really natural and just be himself in this role.

The conflict at the end tho.... is unnecessarily uncomfortable. It'd be nice to see where both of them are coming from, but even for Gene, I'd have to stretch my imagination out a lot to see why he's feeling that way, or that intensely.
It also took me awhile to realize that it's his other home he went to because I kept feeling like "where is this familiar looking bedroom tho?" lol. Thanks I'm Tee, me too for that familiarity.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they will resolve this, because I've been waiting the highlighted issue about bl lead actor's private love life for some time now.

It felt like the quality of subtitle translation went down in Episode 6. I mean some dialogues didn't make sense,…
I seconded you on every points including the one in the edit.

Question: Does anyone know Thai? Are Sib's lines all double-entendres in the original? It seems like it in the…
For the first question, not really. Like, I think it's possible to read into it that way, but it's pretty far-fetch with how Nubsib's character acts. Tho, the "if you're not relaxed, it will hurt" thing is pretty suspiciously a double-entendre from the author because that's the only time I felt the suggestive implication of those lines.

I just wanted to say that I think Up and Kao are great face actors. You can feel every emotion Nubsib has with…
I love this speculations, lol. One thing tho, I can't imagine a 6 year-old Nubsib taking care of 12-year-old Gene, lol. I know that might not be their age but I think it might be the other way around where Gene took care of him so now he wanna return the kindness and love if we're going for that line of thinking.

I'm with you. For some reason Sib and Gene's storyline is just ok for me. I cant pinpoint why though...something…
I get where you're coming from. I had the same problem with this show at first, but after I came to this one theory, it became quite better.

I think there's actually something to do with Gene and how he views the world. Despite his commentary on BL, he himself is still stuck in a more cartoonish romantic fantasy world: how he interact with people around him and how he's a bit out of touch with people and how he keep imagining stuffs. The acting, or the presentation/direction of the scene related to the main couple might try to reflect that sense of cherry and roses inside Gene. Because one thing that I have to keep reminding myself while watching is that, despite everything, Gene still wrote a hit bl novel well enough to be made into a live action show even with his current views on 18+ scenes.
I still have some problems with Kao's acting to be on a stiffer side than the rest, but I'm used to it and it kinda grew on me especially after having seen how he treat Gene during the drunk scene. While Tum and Hin still have some room of improvement.

And I actually gave up on this show being a satire. I came to realize that it's not. This show is just another conventional bl that have commentary of bl industry sprinkle here and there as its quirk and flair. After realizing that, I stop expecting anything meaningful from this show and just be happy that there are some lines that can be taken out of context to give the industry some commentary. From watching the directors comments on the behind-the-scene stuff, I found that this didn't really have anything to do with making fun of bl as I thought it was, but simply came from a place of wanting to say something and showing viewers how the industry work as a whole.

That's my conclusion for this that helps me continuing with this show.

I feel like there's something wrong with me, because I really want to like this, but I don't. I even fell asleep…
I interpret Aey's snack scene as a scene communicating how not only he's into snacks and bakery but also has a bit of an ego judging these present/gift snacks.

I was really entertained by Aey's acting too. And his storyline seems to really be interesting. But now I'm starting to enjoy the main couple more than before. Aey's still best boi.

I KNEW AOEY'S STORY WILL HIT ME HARD, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW IT WOULD BE THIS EARLY.

I am so ready to get my hammer when I see the dad.

What I'm really curious about is the relationship between Aey and Mhok. I know Mhok likes Aey, but why did Aey reciprocate the kiss? Do they have history? And no, I do realize from their conversation that they're definitely not brothers.

On side note, why do I feel more and more that Nubsib look at Gene like he's his pet or his toy or something, lol. I know using this word could have negative light, but it looks like he's patronizing Gene a bit and it made me feel like he looks at his hamster when he look at Gene..... endearingly so....

Question, For those of us who can only watch this on YouTube , Are these trimmed down from from the Thai episodes?…
Wow.... that dialogue alone add a lot to the episode... it was actually the direction I wanted the episode to go too.
Now this got me paranoid a bit to find a way to check all the episodes on line tv taiwan

So, no follow up on the hurtful outburst from the end of last week's episode and toilet bowl humour, complete…
Yeah, I was surprised too that that issue was kinda brushed off like it didn't really happen. It's almost like everything reset and was brought up again toward the end with him telling Tum to pick up Nubsib.
