I'm liking this, but the ost is...boring?
I don't think so, but I prefer indie music rather than loud pop music so different taste I guess. I even Shazamed the band Hush! and I fell in love with their melancholic nostalgic melody.

Title The Rational Life Spoiler
I don't think this should be rated this low. 8 should be the lowest for this quality drama. From friends to interests,…
Just to show how much I love the female lead's character:

My favorite scene is when her boss threw her an extravagant birthday party. It showed how human she was when she was confused whether to accept or refuse the expensive necklace or not. This was shown when she was just frozen, and she didn't answer her boss when asked if he could put the necklace on her. We know that she is very independent, but the way she rejected just shows how mature she is and definitely, regal. I especially the little touch at the end of the scene when she stopped in her tracks and touched her neck as if she's still wearing ghe necklace. I feel that it shows her being aware of the loss; that she just rejected the chance of a lavish life.

I don't think this should be rated this low. 8 should be the lowest for this quality drama. From friends to interests, I always tend to lean on the unpopular ones. That's why I don't understand the dislike for this drama. I never found the plot boring because it's so realistic with nuanced scenes and thought-provoking lines. The most important part of this drama is the strong, career-driven, confident, level-headed and highly intelligent (or rational just like the title). She's just amazing. Even I fell in love with her character.

This is especially great for those just starting their career (20s) and those in the middle of their career (30s). The age difference between the leads has a great purpose and not just for the sake of romance because the leads show you different walks of life and different struggles of each generation.

If you like slice-of-life dramas without over-the-top or unrealistic conflicts then this is for you. Does this mean no action? Yeah, but you get to learn a life lesson or two and relate to some characters. This is super far from an idol or mainstream drama, so stay away if you're expecting a light fluffy romcom like Love O2O, Meteor Garden, Heirs, or Go Go Squid. However if you like dramas such as Be Melodramatic, Mr. Fighting, Misaeng, and Hospital Playlist, then give this one a chance.

I think its only this drama.
Yeah, it's weird because if I watch this on a different website, it's fine. I mean for paying a subscription, a bad audio is the least you would expect. If only we don't have to watch this on iQiyi....

This drama made me think that I have to move out of my parent's house asap. When I saw the finale's last two scenes, my mom called (her bedroom is just a few feet away from mine) and asked why am I screaming lol. I just want to freely laugh and scream whenever I watch my shows without being disturbed or judged haha.

convinced me as well
Awesome! I'm at ep 24 and the plot is still going strong because they're beginning to get deeper into relevant topics to those people in their 20s, like me, such as life after college and the struggle of starting a business.

Shun and his quirkiness are just a pleasure to watch. My favorite line from him after watching episode 9 is "Because it's 'Catch and Release Day' (proceeds to release the fish that he caught)." It perfectly summarizes the entire episode.

I just love how each character's situation was presented and how different their reactions are because it's in line with their personality (Shun and Mashiba, Haru and Hase, and even, Orca). I especially love Shun's gradual character growth. You can see how he is slowly coming out of his shell and his response to Mashiba in the fishing scene is a proof to that.

Mashiba wanted to be comforted, but Shun chose to confront her with the harsh truth. You can see how much she truly cared for her and her dreams in that confrontation since he was willing to put his own interests and ideals behind in order to do what's best for her.

And what he said about what will happen to their relationship in the future if they follow Mashiba's haste decision, is so true and realistic. That's why I'm confident that these two are in it for the long run.

I was combing thru d comments to gauge if i shd watch it. Ur comment intriques me the most. Aft a lot of C,K,Tw…
You should! I love Jdoramas because they are so good with slice of life, friendship, and coming-of-age dramas. This drama has those elements, but the downside to most Cdramas, in case you've never watch one, is the supporting characters' arc. They're rarely interesting and just extends the episodes. I hesitated after seeing 40+ episodes, but I skip some of the supporting characters' scenes and focus on the leads'. Episode 1 might be a little slow but give it 3 or 5 episodes at least and let me know what you think. I just fell in love with the two leads both as a couple and individuals.

I don't know what it feels like to fall in love but this drama makes me feel like it, especially whenever I see those five together.

That car scene is just so special! And Ik Jun, please stop killing us with your awesome singing skills and charms haha.

Glad I was able to convince a fellow watcher haha. Yeah, I've watch all those dramas including Jdoramas (my favorite), and I'm confident that you'll find this one unique even if you don't exactly fall in love with it. It's definitely a drama worth a shot. Let me know what you think after viewing!

I like it! I just love the unconventional concept of a confident, rich, spoiled, free spirit, young, and badass tomboy female lead paired with a poor, hardworking, pure, inexperienced, and smart male lead.

Extra points for dropping us right in the middle of the story where our leads have been together for a while. They just look comfortable with each other, and so, their relationship feels real.

The whole concept is just very rare for an Asian drama (ehem, I've probably watched over 600), and I welcome it!

"I believe that fiinding a career that you like in life is more important and precious than finding a compatible partner."

Wow, that line just spoke to me (I can't believe that I'm hearing that from a Cdrama of all shows) and made Chief Wang my favorite in this drama. She was such a strong female character. She was very straightforward with her husband when divorcing him, and I like how she defended herself and protected her son throughout the whole separation process. She's the person whom I wish to become in the future, but most importantly, she's the kind of woman I needed my mom to be when my family is going through difficult times. Well, life does not go how you expect or want it to be. But, I'm grateful that I get to discover a character like her. Cheers to all strong women out there!

Am I the only one who found this incredibly slow and boring?
It has some boring parts, and I was about to drop it after the first few episodes. However, I ran out of dramas to watch plus I like Ryan Ding, so I push through and was able to finish it since it got better over time. It was just timing. Different people, different opinions. Just makes the world more interesting, right? Haha.

So this blog compiles everything Haruna wears for Kikazarukoi and the blog is updated like minutes after Kikazarukoi's…

That's why the fast forward button exists because of Cdramas. Without it, I'll be dropping them like they're hot…
After watching episode 35, I realized that I was being stingy with the pros of this drama. I shall add the following besides the Ryan Ding factor: bromance (enviable friendship and chemistry) and strong women.

I shall add some cons too: female lead's annoying tiny and overly childlike (*ehem* helium-like) voice, dull co-worker villains, and several unnecessary extra scenes.
