maybe it's just me reading too much into it, but apparently there's a reason why yifan felt that mu chengyun was familiar when they first met.
she could forget what she ate the day before, but every single thing that she did with sang yan was memorable. even if a random boy with cheap full make up on his face that they saw together on the screen almost a decade ago appeared with an entirely different look, she could somewhat tell.
mu chengyun's present in the past was trivial. he was just an extra in their life. the fact the she kinda remembered the unimportant mu chengyun is because she cherished the time she spent together with sang yan. the memories with sang yan keeps playing in her head as she's still living in that era, the most beautiful time of her life when everything was fine.
p.s: I personally don't have a grudge for mcy. he was actually pretty a considered person sometimes. and he was so chill too. and I'm usually allergic with the idea of someone stick to me like that. but I say I don't really mind to have someone like him around. at least he was so transparent and he wasn't a fake.
however since I practically roast sang yan everyday, let me have a moment to cook that brat mu chengyun too. 🤣
I think it also depends on the tone of the narrative. because some people who enjoy this also enjoy HL. I've mentioned…
sorry it happened to you. I guess some people put on a defensive mode and prefer not to compare because it can cause unnecessary debate again and again. because some already complained about the new cast and it created a tension even before the drama started to air. I guess they just had enough of that and that's understandable.
there're also trolls and haters here that use the comparison just to piss people off and to influence other to think negatively.
so that's why the comparison is kinda sensitive. I hesitated before I posted about my comparison of sang yan too. I was completely aware that was the most sensitive topic here. but I also wanted to share my opinion. and I had to make sure it didn't look like I put the one above the other, so it wouldn't poke either party.
It's almost as if, as soon as HL is compared here, many people automatically go into defense mode. On the contrary…
I think it also depends on the tone of the narrative. because some people who enjoy this also enjoy HL. I've mentioned HL and the characters casually several times and nobody said anything to me so far.
the sleepwalking in the latest episode just hit different. I wanted to cry with her for some reason. I could feel how broken her soul was through that blank stare and teary eyes.
it must be the law of attraction because while I was watching this, coincidenly a thought about son sukku crept into my mind. and I asked myself "what is it, the title of his spicy movie?" and then at that exact moment, the subtitle of yifan's line said "it's nothing serious." wow I'm getting goosebumps typing this. like the chance that I thought about that movie and the chance yifan said that line at the same time, it was like suddenly all the planets were aligned.
since yifan bought sang yan the khaki coat that reminded me of mr. gu, I kept getting this sort of connection. and it even haunted me in my dream. 😭 this is not healthy. 😂
I never felt Mu Cheng Yun was a bad person. He was pushy but I just figured he was young and overconfident. I…
same here. I just thought that he was childish but he was never considered as harmless. and he could be really a genuine person sometime. he wasn't completely clueless to read the room too. at the end he knew his limit. and it's all good now.
I want to love passionately without calculating wether he likes me the same way or not. I want to unconditionally give all of my heart like sang zhi and sang yan. I want to be the bigger person. I want to love somebody, not only being in love. I want my kindness to be as wide as the universe and way deeper than the ocean. I want to be a loser too. 🤣
I haven't watched My Liberation Notes yet, would you recommend it to someone who likes TFF?
sorry for the late reply these are my favourite slow burn slice of life melodrama: - when the weather is fine - a piece of your mind - call it love - brewing love
these have the similar vibe with TFF and also slow burn romance but I'm not sure if these fall into slice of life category: - amidst a snowstorm of love - crush - you're my glory
you can also watch Hidden Love. it's still in the same universe as TFF. it's the story about sang yan's sister and his best friend. it's more of a feel good drama.
and I also recommend bai jing ting's movie "yesterday once more" (2016). his character is similar to sang yan. it's also about first love and dream.
I checked your watching list, since you love "twinkling watermelon", you might as well enjoy: - 18 again (it has the similar trope. ryeoun also played a role in here.) - lovely runner - marry my husband (it's not a high school theme tho)
and some that I want to recommend are already on your plan to watch list 😁
that's the point. you're provocating others using her name. if you're her real fan, you know it's bad for her to mention her name with that sort of narrative. but I've seen many of her haters did that. that's exactly the pattern. cloning accounts and pretend to be her fans just to upset the fans of other actress/actor and cause a drama on other drama's comment section.

if you enjoy the melodrama in TFF, I'd say yes it's recommended. although MLN doesn't focus on the romance, but the romance is great. it's more of a slice of life drama.
lol someone actually put "my liberation notes" on the recommendation list. 😂 glad I'm not the only one that's crazily exited about it and acknowledge that this is also a "worship couple". 🤣
the serious and clueless look of sang yan is too cute. he looks like a chipmunk 🐿️ that I want to put him in my pocket. 😂
