oh look, even su haoan is learning from the maestro. "the more you don't dare, the more you court her" - sang yan, an expert of courting someone in a bulldozer mode (with years of experience).
I'm an Asian too but weirdly enough here we were made to sit mixed by default. Like you ARE made to sit mixed…
I didn't expect that was the reason. I've heard about someone from all the boys school getting awkward because he never talked/sit with girls before. so I thought over the time, to mix them as deskmates would make them less awkward instead, like it lessen the gap between boys and girls.
but I suppose since it became a system in your school, it somehow worked to make them talk less and more concentrate at some point?
I hope it's applied to men π€£ i am a Capricorn girl with AB blood type
I don't know about sang yan's blood type. it's just that it's a coincidence I found someone with the same zodiac and blood type with the one I had a "grudge" on π sorry to disappoint you π€£
warning: please don't stuff anything in your mouth while watching this. because sang yan is totally crazy and can't be helped π if you insist to do that, do it on your own risk.
ijbol at his madness π€£
they should add a warning that this is not popcorn and soda friendly. it's important to avoid the viewers from getting choked.
he'd be on an unstoppable bulldozer mode and he'd accuse her instead π his logic like this π€Έ he's standing upside down that when you're talking to him you're actually making a conversation with his foot, if that's even make sense. π
being a crazy idiot, it's crazy that he still looks so damn cool.
I imagined sang zhi witnessed all of her brother's rodeo to get closer with yifan. she'd be like "I swear I don't know him. mom, are you sure that my brother didn't accidentally get swapped in the hospital after you delivered him? my real brother could be freezing on the street while you are sheltering that weirdo. but it's not late to do a dna test now."
but then I remember that little sang zhi is his successful partner in crime π€£ can't blame her, I'd sell my sanity in exchange for free ice cream too π
This type of seating arrangement setting in schools is actually pretty common and a norm in asian schools ; co-ed…
yeah, now that I've recalled my school memories, I can see that it's indeed common π€π now it just feels like a little sweet souvenir from the old days π
at first I thought why there are many deskmate to lovers trope in cdrama. like what kind of situation that made the school officially arranged a girl and a boy sat next to each other like that? in a school environment where dating was considered a crime.
but then I was like "something like that definitely wouldn't happened in my sch-- wait... I did that too?! π having a crush for years with my so called occasional deskmate π€£"
I only tried to be a rational viewer and but I ended up laughing at my own stupidity π
tmi my school situation was a little similar like in the drama regarding the "early relationship". but to avoid cheating during the test, they made a special arrangement for us. and I had to sit with this one boy from another department, who was my junior but a year older than me.
anyway I guess something like that is possible to happen in a co-ed school except in a religious based school.
if anyone ever doubted the sitting arrangement in the drama like I did before, well you see I'm the living proof that something like that is actually very realistic π
from the moment the fl did the monologue at the beginning of ep 1, I had a feeling that the writer ever felt that sort of feeling too. I don't remember what she said, but those are not some words that could come out from merely day dreaming or imagining things. and now I'm sure that even the deskmate to lovers trope in this drama is based on experience π
when the casts were announced some people questioned wether bai jingting suited to play sang yan.
now that I think about it, bjt's portrayal is indeed different. however at some point he's still sang yan to me. that crazy brat and laid-back sang yan π. it's just that somehow he still manages to stay his cool, especially in front of her. how can someone be so chaotic on the inside and cool on the outside at the same time lol? and bai jing ting did that.
maybe it's just like what others said before. that sang yan in hidden love is the version of him from his younger sister's pov. meanwhile we get to see him here from his lover's perspective.
no matter how cool and perfect he is for the world, for his sister he's probably like a "crazy idiot" creature. I don't have a brother but that's how my distant young uncles are in my eyes lol. (actually they have worse image in my mind but I don't want to say bad words and an inside joke in public that'll cause a misunderstanding lol).
it's cracking me up a lot watching this to notice that the playful side of sang yan is still present lol. that elevator scene when he followed her and suddenly popped up beside her like a ghost still making me giggle when I remember it. and he really takes "I don't have a hobby, I hold a grudge" too the bone lmao π he's so unserious for that lol.
ok sang yan, I learn something new everyday π
but I suppose since it became a system in your school, it somehow worked to make them talk less and more concentrate at some point?
that's accurate. they're sooooooooooo gentle that you don't realise it even when they've hurt you. π
I won't be surprised if sang yan is also a blood type AB π I heard that it's the type for absurd people π€£
sorry for other ABs out there βοΈ that theory may only apply for sang yan and the AB folks I have a grudge on π
ijbol at his madness π€£

and it works that the chemistry is chemistrying.
but then I remember that little sang zhi is his successful partner in crime π€£ can't blame her, I'd sell my sanity in exchange for free ice cream too π
me too π I can't picture it other than bjt.
but then I was like "something like that definitely wouldn't happened in my sch-- wait... I did that too?! π having a crush for years with my so called occasional deskmate π€£"

so I knew he'd be a perfect fit for this.
ahhh this makes me want to re-watch that beautiful movie again.
