I think in history even when the kingdom would be ruled be Liao or Mongolians, Turks, etc they would still use traditional Han outfits as well as adapting to chinese laws and language. I think they did it so it was easier to "take over"
If you're not too far in quit. Lol. I liked the previous version because I did enjoy learning more about the dieties and gods. This one didn't really introduce that many character.. this one is more dark and serious

It has a love square! His character is dubious, but it works out on the end. His character is what made me continue to watch because he was so doubtful. The drama isn't too serious, and light. I liked it and finished it.
Y'all were right. This drama was stretched out too long. I was initially intrigued but the ending was annoying and I skipped through the last 3 episodes
Do you mean historical as ancient/costume drama? I wouldn't really characterize The Untamed as historical, per se? Also, I think Lan Zhan had so many names because this drama is more wuxia, which focuses on martial art world (jianghu) and pivotal fighters or members will have many titles and names. I watched this drama on Viki so the subbers did put English names, to help with the translation.
