I came hopping over here from AaSoL thread - someone who was not that hopped up by it said this was a better story.

Now this "slight romance" made me skid to a stop.

A strong romance thread does NOT take away from a solid bromance (unless it a fake one to paper over a BL story adaptation - that's cheating).
PRISON PLAYBOOK misrepresented in the TAG the level of ROMANCE Flutters it was loaded with - I mean heck.. It had THE competing romance with the bromance.

Just read the brief.. Not many excited in the discussion thread though - but I'll check it out..

I heard that some sparks are there in the Lin Lin and MXD angle..
But aparently it was so lukewarm and dilute.. You'd miss it if you blinked 😏
That could have been the seasoning the show forgot to add. And for it to succeed as seasoning Lin Lin would need to be sprinkled way earlier.. AND that relationship explored as a competing thread of interest.

CDrama I have heard does stellar bromance Dramas BUT I was disappointed learning that most of those are "fake" ~ Cdrama BL hiding it under its cover.

I am like seriously? Let's call a Spade a Spade and start digging some real GOLD to gloat over.

IMAGINE if "Call My Name" was all about Timothy Chalamet doing bromance 🙄 in that gem of a film.

I SO need a mouth cleanser with sour and chilli flavour to wash off the SUGAR gush of AaSoL which I couldn't chomp any more (dropped at 11)

I left a logorrheic entry at the site .. and am afraid to go in to see the brickbats that might be falling on it LOL

MOST IMP for me if I am to start this show
~ IS there decent enough skinship (propah kissing .. not lip touches .. or camera swivel to hide lips)
~ Is there chemistry between the leads?

It's labeled a romance so it would be nice if they didnt shy away from some slice of life real feel romance and skinship. (FITYMI did SUCH A fantastic balance even as drama explored their work lives and other relationships)

It should suck out some of the 'excess' sugar from AaSoL if it lacks in that department.

Chen Jing Ke as "Jiang Yang" - who he? Yum! Someone must be thinking up a ML role for him.

Even the Adorkable Meng Xiao Tian (who was getting on my nerves with his meddling in sister's life) had a face cute as a button and I BET someone is penning notes for his role in some coming of age tale .. Didnt shades of Song Joong Ki (from 15 years ago in SSKS) flit across his face while we looked at him ..
Maybe its just me .. but he'd do 'naughty flirty' so well. Oh I wish I could write him a match.

This Drama creamed away the creme de la creme of Actors in the Most Magnetic Visuals Department.

It sowed seeds of cravings each time one of them joined the cast .. Did your eyes yo-yo from face to face ?

~ "Love All, Play" (aka The Speed Going to You 493km)

Fantastic Badminton real play camerawork and excitement - we all Asians KNOW baddy ;-p

PLUS the Leads were soooo good .. Seeing this talented ML for the first time .. His smile will spread to each pore of your skin .. and the FL was a natural .. a convincing role as a champ ..

And what an engagingly knit rich mosaic of a complex story - check out the feelz and squees in that out ..
And let's meet again ;-p

Kim Taeri tears through the drama like a meteor .. I had LOTS of grief with the drama .. But I could mostly ignore those parts cause it was easy to keep your eyes glued to the MAIN story.

And boy did I see and learn an abstract sport that I knew so little about .. FENCING ..
YEAH that's a sports drama woven into the flesh of the story of coming of age and of first love .. and the those elements are inseparables ..
