It's not for people who are looking for "fluffy" romances or "meet cute" story lines of day in day out daily lives - a sit com.
It's for those who like a view into systems and the people who work within those systems, how they adapt and are shaped by them.
Be in in the medical field, in business, in art, music, idol launching ; these are all rich fodder for understating worlds - to some extent.
I think this drama does a brilliant job of capturing that zeitgeist in modern Korean education, the way Rising with the Wind does for venture capital vs small scale industries; Lighter and Princess did for the IT business and it's visionaries vs profit mongerers; and many more where you learn a little more about a field you don't know much about a field you may not know about.
And then to highlight a relationship that blooms within it... Where the romance is an integral and organic part of it.
Visceral and real life. No "aegyo" ridiculous pretending not to know about adult relationships.
Yes it's for those looking for something solid meaty and full of texture and nuance between the lines.
Glad that I wasn't the only one who felt like lovely runner and QOT was overrated :)

I was dismayed seeing that Avenue X had rated QOT a 3 goldmine!!!! Like seriously !!!
I usually don't find any consistency in her thought process - she comes up with random logic very often than not to diss a show, or praise it to high heaven.
QOT is so ridiculous and boring and lacking in ANY chemistry between the leads..plus 2D villain!!!
Same with Lovely Runner - I wrote a scathing rant about it which I am wondering if I should post!!
Oh this review was like glass of chilled calming water - I had been so "maaaad" / pissed; itching my mind into a bloody mess after I watched the NETFLIX and the Tencent version that I was only stuttering and frothing at the mouth all this time.
This lady gave me peace after uttering every goddamn thing that drove me up the wall about this "Americanized Bullshit" show that INSULTS Cixin LIU AND the CHINESE...

It has some reveals that will reduce the IMPACT OF THE TENCENT version.
It also will be best enjoyed by a viewer who had seen both AND is a Sci - fi lover / or read the book.
I just finished Episode 9 .. AND perchance saw an article from 23 days ago saying that the show had dropped to lowest ratings!!!!

It's one of the BEST written - acted - directed - shot - edited - produced KDramas I watched in a LONG TIME .. At least in 2024
I needed this BREATH of FRESH air especially after the overwhelming unpleasant blast from a DUO of super-peaking KDramas whose ratings and popularity made NO sense to me LOL ..
Take it easy "those who get triggered by this" .. It's just ONE opinion in the multitudes of manic raves for : ~ QOT ~ LOVELY RUNNER
Those who also felt the same way about the above two I hope you will take a look at TMRiH
Two of the BEST veteran actors and a cast of VETERAN supporting actors bring a MOST mature slice of life story for a discerning eye looking for something offbeat and exciting and FRESH.
Over all i loved it or may be because of Lin Yi, he is an amazing actor, look forward to many more in future.…
OMG I thought I was the only one ... At one point her cheesy kiddish sunny face was giving me heebeejeebs I watched mainlt for Lin Yi, I think he gave one of his best performance in this drama - esp in the scene after his mom passes away

I JUST couldn't wrap my head around how the CLOY team could hit this SELF GOAL.
Gave me indigestion and thank God I speed watched it after some 6-7 eps - at lightning pace just to see how BAD COULD it get!!!

I wouldn't have liked miss it.

I might actually rewatch to understand the "finance bit" - and some of the complex plot.
