I wouldnt watch this for romance. It is a side plot and almost entirely in the background towards the end. They get together in episode 10 I believe. No breakup. Only 1 real kiss scene.

There was so many questionable things with the writing. How does someone hack a phone by just leaving another phone next to it for 1 second? What caused Myeong Ju to become so crazy and obsessed? How did nobody, especially Myeong Ju, not search the father's house for the gold when it was literally just under some floor boards?? Why did his father entrust his 5 year old son to solve a cryptic mystery? He expected his son to become an NIS agent AND remember a few words about the big dipper and stars from when he was 5 years old? Why was the childhood romance even needed? The romance became an afterthought. After the mountain of evidence and eye witnesses why did they NEED the testimony of her secretary? Why did the board members need the students approval to oust Myeong Ju from the school???

I thought it was pretty dumb to have the gold be under some floor boards and for the realization of it to be introduced in some past memory in the very last moments of the drama. A better way to write that is to have some misunderstanding where they realize there is hidden meaning from the ghost stories or maybe O Su A remembers something from when they were kids and directly helps them find the gold in the end. Seriously if you're going to force a childhood connection, at least have it connect to the story.

Its a good watch, but I liked it a lot better at the start. Towards the end it gets too serious for its own good and when it gets that serious a lot of the comedy starts to feel out of place. I think at the start they were juggling a lot of different genres masterfully, but by the end there were flaming torches and tricycles all over the floor. For example the romance in the show just left me with a feeling of... thats it?

Go after the JAV industry then.

He posted it, he deleted it, he apologized? What do you want him to do? No acting gigs for the rest of his life? Y'all act like he was starring or directing the porn parody. Go after the JAV industry if you are so passionate about it.

Yeah I feel the same. Episode 4 was the best one and it was just over the top goofy comedy. Now the plot is just too serious.

I get they wanted his father to add a personal connection to the case, but I think its pretty unnecessary because he already has strong ties to the case with his classmates and younger sister being at the school and now O Su A. I think you could cut out those parts about his dad and it'd be better because right now his dad is barely a character and it just feels tacked on.

It was good, but there was just a lot of filler that should have been trimmed. If this was 10 episodes instead of 16 it would have been a lot better. The side characters just had way too much screen time and the leads relationship stalled for way too long in the first half. Other than that I liked the MLs personality which is pretty rare in kdramas. FL was good too. Its a pretty easy watch with not a whole lot of melodrama. If you dont like slice of life romance then you probably won't enjoy this.

I agree. The first half is much better. Too much screen time for side characters in the second half and the FL becomes less interesting.

Happiness. I truly do not know how that show has an 8.8 rating.

ML spends his whole life trying to find out if FL is actually cursed using statistics. First time he tried proving she isnt a witch, but used biased statistics full of errors and ultimately learns she actually might be a witch. Second time he stalks her to figure out the rules of her curse. He learns that people who confess their love, being within 10 meters of her, spending more than 10 minutes with her all lead to the person being in danger. Finally ML learns that one person in her past who confessed didn't actually get hurt, reason being she also liked that person. ML then "confesses" to her and leaves to Austria (where she has always wanted to visit). In order to be with her and not die he needs her to actually like him back so he gives her time to figure out her feelings. She goes to Austria, they meet, she likes him, the end. Oh and the ML has a detective friend he met in college who also has the same curse.

Some people like the beginning more, some like the end more. Its very uneven. To me the last episodes were not written very well.

Sad to say you've seen the best. Ive been chasing a similar high every since 🥲. There are other very good cdramas but this was like catching lightning in a bottle. Others I would recommend though: Meet Yourself, Go Ahead, You are My Glory, My Fated Boy, When I fly towards you, First Frost, Our Secret (same ML).

I hope one day I will watch a show that makes me feel the same way as when I watched Hidden Love for the first time.

TBH I thought that at first. But after watching how they wrapped everything up I think its pretty unsatisfactory and I understand the low ratings. The last 1/3 of the show is very different from the first 2/3.

I loved the first 6 episodes. I really found the mystery part of the story very interesting. The last 4 were a mess. I wish we dived deeper into why the curse originated or how to actually break it. The romance was a miss. By the end he came off like a stalker and their love didn't feel believable. They should have written them interacting even just a little bit in the beginning for their love to make sense and not come off so weird and forced just because the plot said so. Also it was extremely bad writing how the 2ML and 2FL romance bloomed in 2 episodes. Nothing about that was earned either. TBH I would have written them out of the show or gave them just enough scenes to flesh out the main characters.

It was such an interesting concept, but by the end I was weirded out by the romance and the "mystery" didnt really have a satisfying answer. I wanted answers on why there was a curse. Shame, I really loved the start, but it just didn't pull it off in the end.

Ep 8 was pretty badly done. Hope 9 and 10 are better.

6 episodes in and this show still has me hooked. Go into it expecting a mystery and a good story and I think you'll also enjoy it. 7.7 is a joke when other shows on this site have 8.8+ just because of famous actors.

Its not focused on romance. It just tells a good story. Im also not sure why so many people dont like it. To me its directed well, acted well, has a mystery, and I watch every episode wanting to know more.
