This was the best episode by far. Han Ji Min nailed her emotional scenes. Kim Yoon Hye as well.

I'm almost caught up with this series, but its been tough going. I can usually get into a good romantic drama,…
Yeah I still enjoy watching it, but something is missing from the ML. He doesnt have any flaws. His biggest flaw was that he worked too hard as a single parent and took a year long sabbatical to raise his kid. He doesnt even have a playful personality for the stoic CEO to bounce off of. I get that hes older and a dad, but dads can have fun too. I thought after the apartment/elevator episode the script would start to allow him to open up, but the last two episodes have been more of the same.

I am halfway through the drama (trying to complete it for the third time) and all I can say is that I have a love-hate…
I also found they went from 0 to "I love you" really really sudden. Glad its not just me. I think this show did a poor job of showing WHY they are falling in love besides basic attraction.
On One Spring Night Jan 28, 2025
Every episode felt like we were going through the same song and dance (literally the same song) until the very end. It definitely would have helped if at least a couple things got resolved earlier. I also wasnt convinced of the leads relationship for some reason. Maybe it was their dialogue? I think every time they spoke to each other it felt off, it didnt feel like real conversations between people. Dont know quite how to describe it but it felt like they were reading from a book of poems to each other or trying to find the most complicated/clever way to convey something simple, maybe it was just the Netflix translations though.
On Put Your Head on My Shoulder Jan 28, 2025
This was really boring. Almost to the end, tried sticking it through because of the high ratings and the most they've done is a fish eyed chaste kiss even when they've been living together for the entire series. They have 0 chemistry. FL was clearly more experienced in acting than the ML. He is up there with the most plain generic ML I've seen in a cdrama. No personality. I dont know if hes shown emotion besides a stoic face more than once this entire series. This was the actor's first cdrama and the writing was doing him no favors so I'll cut him some slack, but it still doesn't make for a good drama.
Fu Pei and Wang Shan are also competing for worst secondary couple to watch; only rivaled by the Love is Sweet second couple. Overall it wasnt the worst thing, I made it through 20 episodes. Maybe it was better and refreshing in 2019, but 5-6 years later there are much better romance dramas.

i’ve heard such good things about this drama. but i’m on ep 4 and i’m just struggling to get into it. i…
I watched til ep 9 and the conversations between the leads were boring as dish water. If you like blank stares between attractive leads then keep going. If you want something more then I dont recommend. I dont mind simple romance with no plot but the characters have to be able to carry a show with their personality, here they are devoid of it.
On The Rational Life Jan 2, 2025
Very well written show that has a tad too many episodes. I also didnt really care for the other side characters much, they were just ok. Its a very very slow burn romance.

At first it was a slice of life romcom, then it turned dark into a murder thriller, then back to a gritty melodrama with some slice of life, then into an action war drama, now into a political court drama.

There is a coherent story in here somewhere, but the genre and tone changing this much over 40 episodes is too much. It definitely should have been much smaller in scope with less genres and less episodes and stuck with slice of life romcom with smaller scale problems. Trying to blow this up into multi state wars and then royal/emperor politics should have been left on the writing floor.

It was not bad. Not really scary though, I was expecting more scares. The first half builds tensions pretty spectacularly, but then like most horror movies once the "monster" is revealed it becomes less interesting and the movie runs out of steam.

My sentiments exactly. Like the ML and FL acting shy and reserved is ok for the first 5-10 episodes, they are…
Sure Im sure people have relationships like this, but it is boring to watch to me. If you are making a drama with little to no plot and are just focusing on a sweet relationship, which is fine some of my favorite dramas are simple romance, then there needs to be interesting dialogue between the leads. The dialogue cant just be about how good food is and staring shyly into each others eyes for >50% of the show.

On Episode 13. Its alright so far, but my interest is waning. BJT is good like most of the things Ive seen him in. Song Yi however is distractingly bad in comparison; every time she has to act out a sad or crying scene is just... yeah.

I dont get the high ratings. To put it into perspective Train to Busan, a much better korean zombie flick, has a 8.9 and this has a 8.8 rating. This is like C-tier blockbuster generic zombie movie stretched over too many episodes. You have to suspend your disbelief to find any entertainment in this.
The tone is all over the place. There's not been any good action or romance that I can just enjoy either. This is supposed to be a world with "holy shit there's flesh eating zombies everywhere" yet everybody, even the leads, act like they are in no danger and are as cool as a cucumber, not even a lick of emotion. They are written like they are actors who aren't in any danger and not characters in a zombie apocalypse. Its been dumb characters making dumb decisions, one after the other. If you expect just a semblance of logic in your thrillers then stay far away from this.
On Love's in Sight! Dec 15, 2024
10 episodes so automatically gets a plus. Started out very strong with really heartfelt moments. Towards the end it kind of falls off and there are a lot of writing decisions that were made that left me scratching my head. Overall its short enough where I would recommend it, but I dont think this is one drama I'll remember that fondly.

I know I'm going to come off as a hater with this comment but... as someone who has completed this drama, although…
My sentiments exactly. Like the ML and FL acting shy and reserved is ok for the first 5-10 episodes, they are getting to know one another. But they still act the same way for the rest of the show. Even worse 50% of their conversations were: "here try this food" "is it good?" "mmm, its so good".

I really dislike this writers work because I had the same reaction to AASOL. Both dramas had the same problem where the dialogue and the interactions between leads was just not interesting.
On The Midnight Romance in Hagwon Dec 7, 2024
It’s definitely a slow series. It has a lot of ‘politics’ about the korean education system. If you don’t find that intriguing then the show probably won’t work for you. I thought it was shot well enough and acted incredibly for it to be worth a watch. The FL especially is an incredible actress. The romance was slow but the payoff is there for those who stick it out. The only real bad part of the show to me was the ending where unfortunately things felt rushed and not very satisfying for such a long buildup. Don’t go into it expecting it to be all about romance like the title suggests.
On Fireworks of My Heart Dec 4, 2024
Losing interest after 9 episodes. Im mainly just watching for the firefighter action scenes at this point. Which episode should I skip to in order to watch the good parts? I really cant watch any more of this FL/ML indecisiveness so if someone can point me to which episode they start to change that would be appreciated.
On A Little Thing Called First Love Nov 27, 2024
It’s like someone purposefully took out everything in the script that would elicit any kind of emotion out of the viewer. 13 episodes and I haven’t laughed, smiled, or cried at anything on the screen. It’s slice of life without the life.
On Still 17 Nov 26, 2024
Title Still 17
Way too long and boring, not enough plot or good ML/FL interactions to warrant more than 8 episodes, let alone 16. Id recommend watching the first couple episodes then just skipping to episode 12 or 13. You wont miss a beat because the plot is so paper thin.

The first 12 episodes runs on "near misses" so if that bothers you then avoid this like the plague. It happens so often it could be seen as a parody on the genre.

This show is super underrated. 8.3? Is it because its a noona romance?

Seriously one of the best written romance dramas Ive seen.
