dropping it after 17minutes of watching + reading a comment that the female leads' father stays the same throughout the whole drama.
Disgusting , self centered, selfish and tyrannical character.
Poor choice coming from the actor that plays him because he has had some really good parts before that. Btw we've seen this actor playing both hateful and good natured characters and he did well. This is just purely disgusting and unwatchable.
Sad that i'm strayed away from Seol In Ah's Main role drama so early.

honestly that evil duck faced mother-in-law is irredeemable to the very end, the actress perfectly portrays the annoyance she exudes so i guess +1 point for casting.
Her character is trash.
i had to skip 80% of her scenes. If you do that and speed up the episodes it will really feel like a 25 episode drama or so.
Generally most of the characters have good development and are evenly distributed in screentime.
Most of the storylines' closures are also nice.
It was decent.
When compared to other Family dramas i'd give it 8.5/10 (ONLY when compared to other family dramas). Generally as a drama it would score way less.

I'll explain if anyone cares, why i rated it as such.
Family dramas tend to have a few evil(to the bone) characters and often they act terribly from start to finish without any punishment. Here that's not the case, more than a couple of characters are evil but for a way shorter time, making a complete character arc, going from hateful characters to loving/loved ones. The annoying duck faced lady is indeed hateful and evil from start to finish, even plots against Lead characters which makes your blood boil, BUT no kids die because of her, no near death accidents happen because of her , and no one is left penniless homeless or in a coma because of her ( Family dramas use the above mentioned tropes waaaaay often and at times more than one of these tropes/cliches simultaneously).
Also family dramas are meant for fast forwarding and watching in higher speed (like 1.25x) and you can pretty certainly tell when a scene is pointless and can be skipped.
Next, about 7 out of 9 characters have very favorable/good outcomes , not just for the viewers pleasure but generally good endings. The chemistry between the Couples formed in this is above average, again nothing mind blowing. The misunderstandings indeed are not resolved right away or even early after they happen BUT they don't go on for 10+ episodes at once making you hate yourself for wasting your time watching this, yes sometimes after a misunderstanding another comes right away etc, but at least we don't have 3+ hours of pondering on a single event or something someone overheard..

EDIT: rewatching it(with even more fast forwards of course) and will add anything noteworthy, having tens of family dramas under my belt and having rewatched some of them maybe i can point out something i missed initially.

she has a very special talent of being disgustingly annoying.
i wouldn't wish for her to be a mother-in-law in real life even to my WORST enemy.
If someone killed my parents and went to Korea to avoid jail, i would STILL not wish for him to ever have her as a mother in law. That's how annoying she is.
It's not acting when ALL you do is exactly ONE character. It's just how you are.
You know, how Charlie Sheen played himself in Two And A Half Men.
So yes..she is totally A YIKES PERSON.

such poor writing. The FL is getting abused by her own family and her in-laws. Has literally NO ONE on her side.…
it's actually getting A LOT better after 20+ episodes though. so you need to invest 20+ hours of blood boiling and bad writing in order to start enjoying it.
I DO STAND BY my earlier comment for the first 20 episodes too.
Of course because i have no life i continued watching it even if it seemed like trash.
I advise you to fast forward unnecessary scenes and watch the rest sped up like 1.25x or even 1.5x .
It still has many flaws later on but not making it unwatchable. still in this genre of the 50/100 episode family dramas it's out of my top10. But would give it a 7/10 probably.

such poor writing.
The FL is getting abused by her own family and her in-laws. Has literally NO ONE on her side. Only the guy calling her teacher could be of help but he is not really connected with her life.
Reminds me of Another Miss Oh, where its 100% of all the episodes pure bullying the FL.
It's pathetic to the point of becoming boring.
I wish she threatened ML with a divorce or her family with cutting them off completely and wasn't a pushover. Her fiery character makes zero difference as she is abused by all.
A waste of time.

i'm sure it comes VERY easy to her always playing the disgusting annoying characters, she is very close to that in real life for sure.
If someone killed my parents and then went to Korea to get married and not go to jail, i STILL wouldn't wish for him to have her as Mother In Law.

i've watched about 15 of these 50/100 episode family dramas and i think only in 2 or 3 the BIG family didn't run a restaurant or a food related shop.
Seems overly used and boring.

when it comes to family melodramas this is definitely top3 for me.
i watched the more famous ones and since its 50+ episodes each time i don't really commit to them if they don't intrigue me early on.
i have to say this drama is the MOST easily watchable out of them all.
Usually those 50 episode dramas have frequently added random misunderstandings and mishaps in order to keep going, usually making our blood boil for 10+ episodes until it gets resolved and then onto the next...
Here it is a very heartwarming story. Almost all the characters have good development and mostly EQUAL screentime which is mad considering its around 20 characters.
Honestly all the actors are very pleasing to watch. The chemistry is there for most couples. I don't know what to say to criticize it.
10/10 for me. Remember. it's a 10 for THIS PARTICULAR genre. Don't go comparing it to Crash Landing on you and other 16-episode masterpieces.
i hope i find more dramas like this.

ML is a complete prick from start to finish. writers try to to redeem him mocking us and the hours we WASTED watching this.
A terrible execution overall.
If Go Back Couple and 18 Again exist in this genre, then THIS drama is definitely a 4/10 .

well obviously we all knew that Lead Couple will end up together again and travel back, it happens in all of these…
rewatching it and forgot to add ML is a prick for most of the episodes. His character is not totally redeemable but i think Jang Na Ra's and Kim Min Kyung's(mother of FL) acting is enough to carry this drama. Not that it really needs saving as i mentioned above it's good overall.

just finished episode 20.. it's still VERY BLAND.
really an uninteresting drama. It's only like 26 minute episodes so it's not that long and with some speed up or skips you can watch it without feeling bored or wasting your time.

those accidental falling perfectly into the other person's lips scenes are not only a cheap cliche but it's also SUPER OVERUSED HERE. every other episode has one. i guess people in china don't have basic balance.

im 18 episodes in, idk if it gets worse better or whatever but what i can say is: for a longer drama(i mean those…
generally with all these secrets, misunderstandings and coincidences i think writers handled most characters well, BUT the evil ML's mother character should just go down as that. Pure evil, the last 2 episodes where the writers try to redeem her for us with the accident and all that is totally a spit in our faces. She has done some of the most despicable things a human can do and we are supposed to feel pity for her?
AAAAnyway, it's one of the good long family dramas.
I'd give it an 8/10 in this genre.
Also given when it was produced i'll say two things: First, it's nice to see that actors handled their roles well and many of them are successful nowadays plus the writing managed to not overdo the many cliches and not make us feel hatred for the whole amount of episodes which is rare in these types of dramas, and now onto the SECOND takeaway which can be seen as a praise for THIS drama but a critique for the genre today is: Most of the plot points and the way these dramas are shot has been stagnant and not evolving, maybe becoming even worse because now in order to achieve 100 episodes in number they also throw in random car accidents and amnesia plot arcs to drag it, making the hateful characters even more impactful to the point of having to drop some of these dramas.
I didn't regret watching this (stumbled upon it for two actresses here, one was ParkShinHye).

im 18 episodes in, idk if it gets worse better or whatever but what i can say is: for a longer drama(i mean those that have so many episodes that are 40+ mins) it has a really good pace.
It feels like one of those 50x1hr episode dramas and i've seen at least 10 of them.
Because of the maaaaany characters that are introduced it could get chaotic easily but honestly i can feel progress on 1 or more character with each episode and that's really note worthy.
