i see people talk about how the last 2 eps were written very well etc im on episode 10 and how the story of Ro-Sa the restaurant owner lady unfolded was like a mini heartwarming drama about friendship and sacrifices within the actual drama. I think this drama so far is one of the better ones i've watched when it comes to Slice-of-life kinda genre.
By the way while im writing this the drama 'Thirty-Nine' came in mind so if anyone wants emotions please go watch it. I sure will rewatch it after i finish Our Unwritten Seoul.
Sidenote: i dont remember how long ago it was and in which ParkBoYoung drama it was , but i remember a few people saying how her only 'attraction' and reason she is cast is that she can pass for a cute high school girl to even a 30something year old etc. Basically saying her appearance is the only reason. I disagree obviously but this drama is reason enough to invalidate those comments. Also i liked the acting on both Mothers' part.
i get why some people hate on it because they probably watched it as it was airing so they invested time in it. The way i see it, i started it after in aired and dropped on Ep3 . I'm simply not the target audience but it's ok. There are millions of 14-17 year old girls and even more that are older but still stuck with the fantasies they had at that age so i'm sure it was and will be a hit, or at least have a good viewership so as a drama it's a job well done. I would say drop it if you;re not in that age group and just forget about it.
at ep97 right now and i sense that in the last episodes they are all lenient on SEYEONG and kinda want her to avoid any consequences almost like they want us to empathize with her. idk why this drama got so derailed. painting only MyeongJi as the evil person is misleading. Maybe its because of Korea's view on evil characters. Seyeong is a young actress and if she is despicably evil for 100 episodes in a row maybe she'll get hate? While older actresses are more of role-relying and do their job.

This NEEDS a season 2. in such a sort span of episodes you even have 'evil' characters stepping up and becoming good and then even better(talking about Han Yu Rim the surgeon chief), there's secrecy in some characters' lore, and there is straight up sacrifice from others. I think this need to be more famous and get financing for Season2 asap.

sorry im not very active these days, what i do when i sense the drama will be boring or dragging is, i up the speed to 1.25x and use thee +5sec skip button in scenes that seem meaningless or repetitive
1 more episode till im done but i dont get the ratings in here.. ITS A FAMILY DRAMA PEOPLE. going in you should expect all these cliches and repetitive exaggerations. Yes the police is practically non existent because the evil characters kill kidnap and steal like its their day job. Yes too many amnesias and too many medical conditions on pretty much every character. Yes all the cliche tropes and predictable situations happen again and again, and evil characters barely get punished(or some of them do). BUT all these are prerequisites for family dramas, going in you should expect these things to happen. I ALSO wouldn't rate it above 7.5/10 (FOR FAMILY DRAMA GENRE) not overall. but its mediocre in most aspects and above average in others, the actress that plays the mentally handicapped mother is acting really well, SML's whole existence is based on a fake guilt and he has a hard time daily and actually comes around to the 'good' side for the last 30 eps or so. The thing is if FL had a bit more charisma, or was kinda more badass as we thought in the first 10 eps, or in general there was more effort put, exception is EVIL Female character, SFL basically, who's face is MADE for playing the hateful antagonist, good cast choice there.
she is 50? WOW Veteran goddess! I really like her and get a warm feeling when i see her acting, when her characters are evil or just antagonistic i get sad.. I hope she has a healthy life
a beautiful story overall. heavy at times, difficult topics portrayed/discusses, slow healing through time , and love blooming through hardships. i think the tag 'Family crisis' roughly sums up what this drama entails. I like how each of the characters have their own story and we actually get to see it instead of having a rushed glimpse of some characters and an extended view on other characters' lives. It's really well written when it comes to delivering emotional bits. It's not for those who get bored easily, or those who need whirlwind romance plots and passionate interactions to keep watching a drama. It's not for those who are driven by the excitement of big events(like an evil character being antagonistic etc etc). It's driven by its' own family dynamics and how everyone has their one life but as a part of a family. I loved it but watched it in a period when i'm calm and enjoy emotions rather than eye candy or excitement.

i get what you're saying, there was a period when i had watched 3 or 4 dramas in a row(two of them were even family dramas 50/100 ep long) where the evilest person of all that was either a murderer or straight up a criminal all drama long was let go or even had a somewhat happy ending, not even a slap on the wrist. So what did i do? i searched for the tag : revenge , and watched a ton of revenge dramas haha, thankful though because i stumbled upon some real gems .
