rewatching it and thought about warning some of you.
If you are looking for a fast paced romance drama, not in length but in the sense of feelings going 0 to 100 in a couple of episodes , this drama is not for you.
It starts slow and there is a sense of heaviness/darkness that soothes over several episodes later.
BUT it indeed is draggy, has some unexplainable reason as to why it becomes that way mid-series, actually around episode 7-8. The whole mysterious characters' vibe is becoming tiring, it doesn't last super long but it will bore you, speed up the drama 1.25x and some fast forwards, dropping it i would not recommend. But indeed the writing is not tight.. If it was a 12-episode format even with the pace it had since the start it would be wayyy better.
One of the few dramas i don't remember from start to finish by the way. I was surprised.
Will come edit if i need to change my rating.
But if you know what you're in for, this drama is awesome, of course i was led here because of Park Min Young the romance goddess.

just rewatched for the third time.
Total masterpiece.
Choreography is next level, brutality is on point.
Revenge is totally served.
Han So Hee , just wow.
If she starts doing only roles like this one i'll get her name tatted on my forehead.
Writing was sooo tight.
Introduced a story from start to finish, with enough character development AND origins, and that awesome closure, all in 8 episodes.
Super proportionate writing. No rushed stuff.
The romantic aspect could be missing, but it did serve a purpose in the end, changed HER mind back to her normal plan.
10/10
Oh , also lighting department DELIVERED, clothing dept as well but lighting was sooo good especially difficult in this genre.

i watched it long ago.
can someone tell me if this is a genre or something, i'm talking about the 10+ episode-10 minute dramas.
They're so easy to watch without investing HOURS for a flop.
I like how the pace is good and things happen all the time, you might not have time for a character to develop but that is masked with how fast things change and the shock value overall.
Please recommend other dramas short like this(I don't care about the story being similar, i'm talking about the format)

misleading summary, unnecessarily long, very poor acting from about half of the episodes.
Script was all over the place but started to be tighter later on, somehow writers salvaged it to a point of it being a decent drama.
Of course FL's character is poorly written and pathetic overall. The events happening and the affection she gets from the 2nd and 3rd Male characters though makes up for it and makes it tolerable.
Respecting that it was 2010 and many things were different and not evolved enough back then, and also not much decent/above average/great dramas to compare it to, let alone enough dramas with similar plot, it seems to have scored high because of those reasons, along with nostalgia of course.
Objectively watching it in modern day i would say it's a hard 7/10 , maybe bump to a 7.5 due to some actors actually acting pretty well and carrying parts of the drama.

ikr!!
idk if she has, or wants to start a family, usually here on MDL it says if someone is married or not. Or maybe she is just enjoying life after having worked for so many years.
But she is REALLY talented. I'm barely ever a fan of one actor/actress in particular, but coming here i realized in how many GOOD dramas that i have watched she has starred in.
I hope she is happy

interesting, nice acting, good pace, nice continuity, costumes/clothing in general. Oh and like 80% of the cast is eye candy both for males and females.
Could've been more tightly written because the ending was very lukewarm.
I guess in order not to drag it more to tie loose ends they had to leave it at that.
I've stumbled across other dramas of this 'genre' with either past-live reincarnations or 'Goblin-adjacent dramas' , and when compared to those it's actually really good.
Not a drama i would choose to watch randomly just by reading the summary though.
Still since it had a good pace and was not long/draggy/mildly annoying , i finished it and enjoyed it.
Thankfully Shin Hye Soon's profile brought me here.
Positive impressions only!

i've never seen him play a 'good' character, or even a neutral third party one.
It's always the most despicable evil one around haha
His face and his parents' timing on when they brought him to life are so crucial to his success.
Maybe luck really exists in life after all!

I'm officially dropping it. Why? You ask.Well, simply... THE FEMALE LEAD.I can't come to like her in any way,…
SFL is terribly written as well.
The problem with FL is that she is not only a doormat to everyone around her, she is pathetic to herself as well. All this misery should have a ceiling.
It's enough, for at least 5 episodes in a row we see her crying around because everything in her life sucks, yes i know you have to set up some big transformation and make the ML evolve with her etc etc. But it's still too much.
I disagree, the story is totally something overplayed and repeated. We've seen the same exact thing in maaaany other dramas.
I do excuse this one because it was 2010 and many things were different, the standards were lower, the overall mindset both from the writing/producing point of view and that of the viewers was totally different.
Would i say it's terrible? Did i drop it? Not yet.
But i wouldn't recommend anyone watching it either.
Also to me ML(even though i have enjoyed dramas that he has participated in) has a very default face. Like a resting 'displeased' face. And the actress that played SFL now is ruined for me, even though i really enjoyed her in the family drama she starred in(she was a good character).
It is a hard 7/10 IF you take into account when it aired. Compared to today's similar dramas it doesn't stand a chance though.

Title Suits
immensely boring and totally uninteresting.
Also the acting is as if all the actors perform their scenes while on xanax.
A total yawn. And yes i've watched other dramas of this genre , and the US version not that it matters. A drama's main aim should be to keep you interested/intrigues to go for the next episode.
Step 1: find or copy and idea for an interesting drama/plot , step 2: make the summary and trailer vague and filled with all the shocking events so you get the attention and the igniting spark for someone to try your drama, step 3: find some actors with strong fanbases, if budget too low, go for young idols and fangirls will overinflate your ratings and viewership, step 4: while comprising a script use an AI throw the top 5 drama's of your genre scripts in a blender and you'll get a somewhat repeated but decent plot. step 5: profit.
It's really not difficult to make dramas work, but no matter how hateful characters there will be, no matter how disappointing the ending might be, or anticlimactic, or controversial events, being BORING is the biggest enemy and the number 1 reason for people dropping dramas. Of course there are many ways to damage your own drama but being uninteresting is the biggest.
Dropped after episode 9. Will give it a 5/10 for the homage to the US series, and some veteran actors involved.

at start it felt like 'im not a robot' but going on it went a different way.
I really like the fact that it's a 12-episode drama, so far it's tightly written, every episode pretty much is important for the continuation of the overall plot without dragging, and the characters that are set up seem to be enough to have a complete arc in the pace that this is going.
Setting aside the genre i think this is a good piece of work in general, the way the plot is constantly filling the 'holes' or questionmarks a viewer might develop. The flashbacks/memories are not too frequent and are well timed in order to give you the info needed. Not repetitive and not nonsensical.
I'm 3 episodes shy of the ending but so far it definitely is a 9/10 , maybe even a 9.5 given the 'competition' in this genre. I'll edit soon after i finish, confirming or changing my thoughts, and anticipating if the pace and the buildup have a good payoff, it's not very hard to have a decent closure the way it seems so far, but they can even aim for a very good one!

EDIT: well they didn't handle it better. i'll say the performance of the writers plateaued in the last 3 episodes, and also threw in one random connection of the evil character with ML's past, without clear setup earlier on. Lowkey anticlimactic ending too. Still not enough to lower my thoughts on this drama, but definitely will not rate it higher. a 8.5/10 for this genre it is !

it's an interesting take on the whole 'afterlife creatures living in modern world to fulfill duties' kind of genre.
It is 12-episodes long which is a huge plus. Tightly written so it never gets boring, after setting up the main characters and the important secondary ones in the first few episodes we start having only progression on the plot for the next episodes in a row.
Not really cliche ridden and interesting casting choices overall.
It's nothing groundbreaking but it really is a fun and smooth watch.
The chemistry between all characters is nice and not having the whole trope of secrets being revealed and misunderstood for episode after episode like other dramas similar to this do, is really relaxing.
9/10 in this genre.

a prime example of how casting alone can bring you back the investment + profits even if you let an AI write the script.

very overrated, i don't know if it's because of the cast or because of the success of the next seasons, but this one is definitely overrated.
Not saying it's a bad drama by any means but a 8.7/10 is ridiculous.
Belongs in the neighborhood of 7.6-7.9/10 strictly.
Generally 1 whole point out of 10 wouldn't be a reason to comment on how overrated something is, but when anything surpasses the 8.5 mark should be criticized as it .
Also since it occupies a spot in the top medical dramas it should be looked into as one.

exactly what i was gonna write, after 60 mins of this , it's just totally uninteresting, there doesn't seem to…
i checked your watchlist, i don't think you have a problem finding good dramas. just need to identify what you actually like and ignore the cast or the reviews when experimenting.
