ahh.. binge-watching addicts like me should keep away from this one. Total waste of time. Should have been 24 episodes long or smth. It's not hooking you into it either so it's really a pain watching 40 episodes of this.. I initially started it because of the FL and just HAD to finish it because i have no life. But i would definitely not recommend you 'waste' 30+ hrs on it. It's not terribly written though. If it was way shorter i'd even give it an 8/10 on romance genre.
FL's mom irrationality and trash character along with the sexual assault in workplace storylines are the reason this drama becomes boring. It would be fine as a 12-episode drama. If the workplace thing was more compact and meaningful(because there are legit 4-5 episodes where they just talk about what ifs) and if FL's mother wasn't so poorly written, along with FL being a doormat and not just moving out and forcing things to go faster, the drama would have been a good one. But there are just an extra 4 hours of watchtime that should've been avoided. Poor writing on many parts. A wasted opportunity
Should have been about 8-10 episodes shorter. other than that it's fine. nothing groundbreaking. just your typical dose of romance. It's ok. fast forward a bit or use 1.25x video speed and you won't 'waste' 20hrs on it.
im like 10 episodes in, FL's mother is one of the trashiest characters i've seen in dramas. truly pathetic. Obviously you could say the rich old CEO that controls the company is the worst but we are used to these characters, they serve the purpose of being antagonists. While FL's mother is just a trash and a burden, nagging and forcing her 37 year old daughter not to date or whatever. Complete waste of screen time.
could have easily been 24 episode long and still have the same feeling and impression. It was fine, generally speaking. What you'd expect from a romance drama anyways. 7.5/10 is fair
generally boring. Evil character changes every few episodes, nothing engaging. Second lead couple fall in love pretty much instantly and you still forget about them since their screen time is extremely limited. The general plot is overused but still boring. Lead Couple has no chemistry as well. It's not unwatchable it's just not worth investing ~15hrs of your life on it. Oh also characters come and go randomly. Writing is all over the place, pretty messed up. I think this is an example of putting all the cliche overused plot arcs in a blender and the result is just bad. If only you added those extra surprise ingredients... 6/10
nahh i still don't understand how he keeps getting male lead roles in romantic dramas. He has zero chemistry with…
btw not only is there no revenge on female antagonist, she also has ML's assistant rooting for her and loving her all along AND in the end gets the confession out of him. YIKES. At least the actress cast in female antagonist role suits the character. I can't see her playing a main lead with her whole vibe and appearance but she does a good job indeed on evil characters.
nahh i still don't understand how he keeps getting male lead roles in romantic dramas. He has zero chemistry with the other lead in all the dramas i've seen him so far. Also his character is poorly written and last 3 episodes he is too manipulative, kinda ruins the whole mood. Also once again we have the antagonist character that works for 24 episodes straight to ruin our poor FL's life and we get no redemption, there is no punishment for her. Just an overall poorly written drama with an overplayed story that we've seen many times in the past and in better versions as well. Not worth investing ~15 hours on this Barely a 7/10
nahhh not doing it. Third female lead(aka the other secretary) is a piece of trash. This character should have no redemption and writers playing it like she had reasons to be such a trash in episode 15 make it even worse. She betrayed FL since episode 1 basically. Most characters were fine , your typical office romance drama with Rich-poor relations, CEO and other office power trips/company promotion undermining, female antagonist was so weak it lasted just a couple of episodes(one more point on how these writers can't develop a decent character). 6.5/10. If the leads had a good chemistry it could be a bit higher because Second Lead 'Couple' had that chemistry but it just wasn't enough. The antagonistic/evil characters do what you expect them to but there is no real revenge taken upon them.
ML is actually bad at acting. The hurt mysterious with an unjust past character that the writters prepared shouldn't be played like that. Also the FL falls in 'love' way too fast but its only 10 episodes so maybe it's fine. When i say bad at acting: at least in this particular situation he can't portray the emotions that his character SHOULD have with his past etc. Stuttering and not giving eye-contact is not acting, especially as overused as here. Also using Eh? every third sentence is a tiring time-filler.
It is intentional, they purposely mesh all these overused and cliche plots into this drama almost like ridiculing/making…
well as i said it wasn't bad but all my 'reviews' are from the point of view of: is it worth investing ~15 hours on it? And then HOW worth is it? Reason i commented is mostly because 8.3 rating really seems too much for it. But i wouldn't tell anyone to avoid it, it's not unwatchable and it is actually not a hard watch(i mean not too heavy emotions or too complex plot so it's easy on the eye). Also people watching this genre pretty much know what to expect so they wouldn't be let down after watching it BUT when blindly searching for 'romance' dramas to watch, usually the newest and higher-rated ones come first if you do not have a guide, and i think this shouldn't be so high on the list if you go by descending rating, that's all. There are at least 20 dramas that i'd watch first in this genre before reaching this.
well obviously we all knew that Lead Couple will end up together again and travel back, it happens in all of these dramas( like 18 again and so on), but since its a 12 episode drama it could have been written more proportionately because we get the travel back to the real(future which is actually present) life just in the last 15-20 mins of the last episode. Anyway i had a long review about this drama in other sites and i'm pretty tired to rewrite it. Generally: 8/10, full of emotions even though it's only 12 episodes, easily Bingeable, good acting, and all in all a fine story. Jang Na Ra was 36 in this drama. just wow. She will be 50 at some point and still get cast to play a school/college girl, incredible genetics!
veeeeery cliche and overused plot. in the first few episodes the whole dying FL and lying to get revenge gets resolved and THEN it's your typical Cold rich CEO-poor Female Lead + Enemy companies' schemes and power trips + Rich Female antagonist from the past that plots against Lead Couple + ML's best friend betrayal. LEGIT YOUR TYPICAL ASIAN ROMANCE DRAMA CLICHE PLOTS IN A MIX. I'm not saying it is bad or unwatchable but 8.3/10 is a huge exaggeration. I'd give it like 7/10. Really ZERO new plot points and refreshing things in the plot after episode 4, we've seen ALL of it in different dramas with different actors. It's not always a bad choice BUT since its a 2022 drama and they still rewrite the same things i'd say this is really overrated. Maybe it's the fangirling over some actors or smth, i don't get it. Clothing department did a good job i'd say. Oh and acting was not anything extreme, definitely not bad but nothing breathtaking though(plot doesn't give room for good acting anyways but this just goes back to my initial point of recycling storylines). Meh..
heavy. romantic. totally not a poor spinoff of some sort to the famous Zac Efron movie. Really apart from that scene with the basketball at the cafeteria in Episode 1, there is not really cringeworthy references to that teen sort of movie. It is way heavier and deeper, also it's refreshing to see that the antagonists/evil characters here are the main characters themselves. Their previous poor choices or wrong attitudes and all that, it's really just a story about healing through different paths. Would totally recommend it. 9/10 for sure in this genre. I would even rate it high as a drama overall.(i say this because many GOOD romantic dramas are highly rated as romance ones, but overall poor if u consider all aspects). Here the acting, background stories, love stories, familial stories are all well executed. Music is also very fitting, used when needed and as loud as needed. Wardrobe is also good. I'd only say early on it is difficult to distinguish a few young male characters as the fringe haircut really makes 2 important characters look alike and until you know the names well and their overall manner u might mistake them but it's fine. A GOOD JOB.
nahhh second female character playing the pity/victim card to make FL back off or whatever at episode 12 was a very low move. Her character has no depth, and because of her situation both with her previous marriage and her health we are supposed to not criticize her. That's just poor writing. General takeaways from these 12 episodes so far: ML is not an unfair scumbag, FL is totally not a gold digger as some have mentioned, SML is just pitiful because he's done nothing wrong, from the elders/parents characters only the mother of FL is well written and generally watchable, the rest are typical trash older characters of Kdramas. It has become kinda draggy for the last 2-3 episodes but it's nearing the end so it's not a huge negative. No matter the end, even tho we pretty much know what's gonna happen, i can't see this drama going above 7/10 maybe 7.5 idk. I guess the rating here is pretty much realistic. Anything above 8/10 would be an overestimate though. All in all an easy 16-episode watch. If you are a fan or remotely fond of any actor/actress in here then watch it by all means, but generally i wouldn't prioritize it when recommending romance Kdramas to someone else. Maybe after listing 20+ others yes.
on episode 41 out of 50 right now. all i can say is this trash Male Lead(not Lee Tae Hwan) is the worst and evilest…
ok update. Redeem episodes not good enough. evilML still a piece of s*** Also writers tried to excuse and redeem one more disgusting character, the mother that pushed her son to study so much that he tried committing suicide. YIKES again. 4.5/10 after all
