(From EP13 preview ) Ahn DongChil to GangJa's husband : Divorce your wife ! Me : Yessss finally I feel sorry for…
Actually, at first I couldn't understand why Kang-ja would marry someone so insipid and spineless like her husband. After all, she's financially independent and, unlike Ae-yeon, doesn't seem to have a psychological complex that induces her to be always in a relationship with a man (however toxic that relationship is). And, considering Kang-ja's personality, it's hard to believe that she would marry entirely for her benefit (re: providing a "normal" family life for Ah-ran) or to marry someone who is entirely without personal merit. Too bad the drama failed to show Jin-sang's good points earlier in the drama, only showing us a glimpse of them in episode 14.
just wanted to know if you guys watching this from streaming sites or downloaded it? I heard that some streaming…
For torrents, you can check out jdramacity's blog or Nyaa. I love torrent because I find it a great way to give back to the community of fellow drama lovers. (I mean, that's the least I can do considering that I get those files and subs for free :) )
i love it so far but i don't underestand the role of hyung joon (gang ja's husband).. are they really married?…
How far have you watched the show? In later episodes (not that far, around episode 3 I guess), it is implied that Kang-ja had Aran out of wedlock, and her father is not Kang-ja's current husband.
Uh, did I miss something here. So what Roo Oh knows is that his brother is not dating but likes someone (who he…
I thought he couldn't see clearly from where he stood? He's not near enough and he only saw Doo-jin's back, so maybe didn't realize that it's his brother?
I loved this very much. I'd love to see a spin-off where you get to follow the two main characters daily lives…
That's be interesting :). Watching that flashback on the last episode, I kinda understand why Takumi was popular with the girls when he's younger (or so Kaori said).
This drama is amazing! Kudos to the writer and the leads. I'm sure the drama would be less enjoyable if it's not for Anne's and Hasegawa's ability to deliver those rapid-fire lines with panache. And such likable side characters, too.
Shikeidai no Elevator sounds interesting. (Wasn't there also a Hollywood remake of it? That plot sounds familiar, and I'm not a French movie buff.) And I'd love to read the Reiko Himekawa series, if only they're translated into English (or my native language).
Considering that this is a drama about women, I'm surprised that people seem to be more interested in talking about its male characters instead of the females, especially when those women are interesting. I mean, in your typical K-drama, a woman of Kim Hyeon-sok's age would be depicted simply as a nagging mother instead of an all-round character, with hopes and fears that go beyond her role as a mother--an approach that I find very refreshing.
I love this drama so much. The quirky leads, the rapid-fire dialogues between the two, and how hilariously honest and socially inept they both are (she's simply looking for a suitable marriage partner, love is irrelevant; he's looking for a woman to leech off, since his mother is ailing). And it must be the only time that the word "koto yuunin", or "educated idler" is used by a character in a Japanese drama to justify his NEET-ness. (And yes, Takumi is right. Some prominent Japanese novels do feature educated idlers as their main characters. Being an educated idler seems to be an acceptable life choice back in the day.) Anyway, thanks for the article. I hope it will lead to more people watching the drama :)
Thanks for writing the article, purplenette. I'm enjoying the first episode of Unkind Women and looking forward to Missing Noir. I wanted to watch Grapevine, but opted out when I found out that it has 32 episodes. I'll probably just read the recaps and reviews for that one.
This time I want to slap the writer. Gawd this is a fcking makjang! Where did the uniqueness from the beginning…
I don't regret watching this drama, but I'm with you. H2H has sunk in my estimation. Wouldn't it be nice if we got the ending that you proposed? But of course that wouldn't happen, sadly.
