After TTW, looking back at Luo Yunxi’s highlights in Light Chaser Rescue—especially last ice cave rescue—and Broker, he’s already proven himself capable of serious drama. Sadly, LCR suffered from forced CP insertions and Broker was even worse, but LYX still delivered within his limited screen time. With a strong manager or agency, he could have won awards, instead of being the actor productions rely on just to get projects launched.

Luo Yunxi, the “God of Costume” for classics like Runyu, Tan Tai Jin, and Tang Li Ci, has AGAIN proven his diverse acting range in The Truth Within. Even with limited screen time, he nails the role of a forensic doctor—calm, professional, yet carrying inner trauma—totally different from his costume drama characters. It’s great to finally see him acting alongside co-stars who match his level.
With standout, complex, and nuanced acting as Tang Li Ci and Qi Si Zhe in 2025, LYX has shown he’s grown into a mature actor, and I’m confident he’s ready to take things to the next level in 2026.

I noticed one of Luo Yunxi’s strengths is his ability to peel and deduce his characters down to tiny details not seen even by the novel’s author, the director, or the producer.
He is extremely smart actor and I know he will continue to improve.....

I agree the whole thing is just Big $$$ crushing Small $$, fortunately LYX with his continuous leap of acting improvement will be able to stay. There is always complex hard to do role that requires good smart actor who can deduce his character in most cases better than the directors.

After WoF/SLY, I dropped every costume drama I started. Now I gave up, I'm just going to rewatch this again and again until I can move on....

and even after months and never ending good news, I still have more good news for SLY:

Die hard romance drama not satisfied, and also hundreds of acc downrated it 2x, see my answer to rainbow7skull.

WoF suffered 2x malicious downrating, the first week, it has hundreds of acc rating it down from 8.3 to 7.9 just in 1 hr, I happened to see it live. The same haters moved to IMDB downrated it more than 2.0, slowly it both came back to 8.3 but later it suffered another downrating from also hundreds of acc from 8.3-7.9 again, both IMDB and MDL on the same day. So yeah, what should it be without these Haters: at least 8.6.

I saw someone bellow mentioned. Cya liu had to go before filming finished and also the director. Yes, It would have been better they could show her at the end.

Just finished it and I’m pretty impressed— this is def a Netflix style CSI: tight, suspenseful, and no wasted screen time. No cheesy romance, just solid plotting and steady pacing from start to finish.
The 3 actors really carried it. LYX was, as always, on another level, and Cya Liu is a big surprise— easily the best FL LYX’s had by a HUGE repeat HUGE margin. The 2nd ML has really good acting too and most of cast delivered.

Although LYX had less screentime than 2nd ML, but he made his screen time count, especially playing his younger self; I just wish they’d given him a little more screen time see the full weight of his trauma and complexity, I know he will nailed it.

Overall it’s a strong first Chinese suspense crime drama for me — polished, well-acted, and worth watching (I’m not a fan of suspense drama)

You should try to see just the cut for the Ancient Demon God in TTOETM, most of Ancient demon god scenes is with Tan Tai Jin alone. You can see the difference between 2 demon god on one frame.

It should be fans of other actor, the 2nd one actress fan. I think C industry is afraid of good actor in general, competition is too fierce. There is only a few good roles and everyone fighting to get it. Lyx is known as an easy target anyway. he is not from Huanrui or Huanyu, when the agency will protect their artist. His agency is too small, and looks like he is leaving soon, so now use for his agency to "protect" him

🤣, it is just a wish list, as a vampire he’d be terrifyingly beautiful and I hope to see a more layered depths in his acting. I just finish TTW today, I also really like his take both as a young modern student and well developed Forensic Doctor, it is very refreshing.

I also want him to play Vampire, he subtle micro‑expressions and talent for portraying evil, paired with a deep, icy stare, give him the perfect presence for a Vampire. I think bcs both of us saw him in TTOETM we know how menacing he could be. The ancient demon god is literally a vampire, only missing the fang. 🤣

👍. Yes, please, I hope he does not take any drama before his contact expired. There are still music festival, CNY gala etc, SP dubbing, then he should take a rest for a few months.

I doubt he will take it though, bcs he always said, he let his character infects his real self, he learned and grew together with each one of his character, they becomes part of his life journey. So taking this type of character does not align with himself, but I still hope one day he wants to try these extreme characters.
