Odd, every episode after episode 20 or so they introduce each character when they appear on screen, even QSH
I love that with the names of the characters appearing. Save the effort trying to figure out who is who because some of them look really alike with the facial hair and same clothing; their names are not easy to memorize too with my goldfish brain :)
it's beyond me how this masterpiece is rated 7.9 ? like it is one of the top 10 highest rated chinese drama in…
I don't understand how the MDL's rating algorithm works, but more than 70% of the viewers rate this drama above 9.0, so something is wrong here with the rating.
I'm late - just getting started and "epic" is an understatement. Binge watched thru episode 12 and now I am researching…
Hahaha, welcome to the bandwagon of the "complaint" of little boy in old man's body and voice. Yes, that's the only blemish I find in this drama. When he's grown to the age that fits the body, everything is awesome (actually apart from the misfit, everything is great from the beginning). You'll enjoy this drama tremendously I know, just as I have :)
This is a very accessible book that you can consider:https://www.amazon.com/Early-Chinese-Empires-History-Imperial/dp/0674057341/ref=sr_1_1?crid=N54XTCAZCXQK&dchild=1&keywords=the+early+chinese+empires+qin+and+han&qid=1608173984&sprefix=qin+and+han%2Caps%2C361&sr=8-1
Yes, there are simply so many inconsistencies and contradictions. Many readers don't even realize the writers' motives and philosophies which may be totally opposing to Ying Zheng's, hence disparage his actions and lead to the distortion of history we see in Sima Qian's Shi Ji. The non-Chinese may be more objective in this sense but, again, their information relies on other writers.

It is so true that written by non-Chinese enables us getting a different perspective, and I truly love the writings of all these sinologists. But to me, there are still certain innate elements that cannot be explained totally when one is not the race himself/herself. I just sigh that there's such a lack of Chinese writers who can be as objective as the non-Chinese in their writings of the Chinese history.
Sooo I've been scrolling through the comments but can't seem to find a clear cut answer. What's the ending? Happy?…
It's really hard to define what it means by a sad or happy ending, that's why you can't find your definite answer.
SPOILER: This is the ending - The last scene shows Ma Zhaixing gravely wounded laying in Bo Wang's arms. He cried. That's it.
The later narratives say Bo Wang brings her back to the mountains and none to be seen ever again (not shown).
Here are the interpretations by some viewers:
- Bo Wang has supernatural power and heals Ma Zhaixing and they live happily ever after.
- Bo Wang brings Ma Zhaixing's body back to the mountains, and dies himself 6 months later.
- My interpretation: Bo Wang brings Ma Zhaixing's body back to his cave on the mountains, lays beside her, and dies together.
I love my own interpretation because I feel it is romantic and beautiful to have died together. The first interpretation to me is implausible because it doesn't really go with the storyline (maybe for the novel or anime, IDK). The second interpretation is painful for me by thinking he lives all alone mourning for her death for 6 months before he dies himself.

It's really ironic that all these books are written by non-Chinese.
Thanks for letting me know there's hope. I'm on ep 24 and it's starting to turn into a regular romance drama instead…
Huh romance? I wish he did. No, hardly any romance. We have almost 30 episodes to see what greatness he has brought to China, his legacy. Hang in there.
Yo, you've started this without me? XD Happy watching!
No, I haven't started this yet, have been too engrossed in another drama Qin Dynasty Epic. I'm just checking this (Legend of Fei) out. May start this weekend if I like it. But some not so flattery comments from some discerning viewers. They give very good unbiased comments. Will be following what they say in the next few days :)
There are 2 very distinct groups here as far as Xiao Zhan is concerned: one his die-hard fans and the other, fans…
It is indeed very sad what people value these days. In China especially, like most countries in the world, almost everything is about money (though there are exceptions). In the criteria in everything people choose, money is always the main one. Social media makes everything worse.
Yes, indeed you talk like a mummy XD (it's a compliment). Have fun!
BTW, I love your review on Qin Empire 2. Bravo!
