So true. It's very hard for one to see one's behavior when one is embroiled in the situation. Many parents cannot see their own mistakes, and many kids can be critical of such mistakes but may commit the same mistakes when they become parents themselves. It's really easy said than done, I'm afraid.

For me, Chen Ting's behavior is a very familiar scene. That's why I can't bring myself to criticize her despite she torments me because I've seen so many such parents especially in the old days when mental illness was being stigmatized.

Yes, I have seen many mental abuses like this, and I and many people around me have also gone through this type of abuses. This is made even worse when parents bring about morality based on filial piety especially in the eastern world. Any disobedience is seen as not being filial pious and are being punished mentally.

Ziqiu is for Mingyue. That's the only love line I can see for him because the writers have dropped hints all over the place, very subtly. Ziqiu's personality requires Mingyue's considerate and sensitive traits. Now that Zhuang Bei and Tan Can are set, just wait for the spark for this pair :)

Right! Such abuses normally exist in making the kids feel guilty, demanding them to obey to the whims of the parents. I really hate that and stand against it. Parents should never tie their love to any conditions, like, "If you listen to me, I'll love you more," "To show your filial piety, you must obey me," etc.

One thing though, all the 3 kids have no mothers, and yet all the mothers, including Zhuang Bei's mother who hires a faked girlfriend, are portrayed in a negative light. The fathers, except Li Haichao, are mostly a**h***s with no bones. It does give the message that, "Who cares to have a mother?"
