You're absolutely right. I've seen so many Chinese kids working so hard everyday just to please their parents, and in the end most are burnt out, some drop out, some change paths. There's a lot of bitterness and unhappiness. A friend arranged everything for his daughter to enter medical school. After one year, she quit and became a teacher. The father went into emergency and had an operation. Their family members scolded the daughter for not listening to the father and causing his illness. It's so unfair for saying that. Many parents do blame their children for any illnesses they may have.
