One thing greatly lacking in today's world is critical thinking. People tend to think alike. When there's a group, they'd attack like a pack of wolves. Such herd mentality is scary, and it also explains today's chaos. People are easily manipulated by their churches or their governments. I hope users of MDL are different and be more tolerant of each other's opinions.

Exactly! We all have different criteria in judging anything. We shouldn't say things like, "If you're critical, it means you don't like it, then get off." Trading views with each other helps us become discerning viewers because we'll know what to look for in future dramas. One of the benefits of MDL is for precisely that.

All these ratings are so arbitrary. People shouldn't be upset over over-rating or underrating.

I've just started another fluffy historical rom-com - Dance of the Sky Empire. It's pretty cute. So far, I like it because it's silly and light watching. Yeah, I like Xiao Zhan but no time to go back to watch old dramas because there are so many new ones being released. I like watching my dramas at the same time chatting with fellows viewers. Watching old dramas is too lonely :)

Wow! I know many of the young actors nowadays are multi-talented. They're really impressive because in the old days, the actors just have to win some beauty pageants and they could start their movie star life. But today actors, they're really talented.

Whether they are using body doubles, the actors and dancers are blended into one. Amazing dancing!

Yes, I get what you're saying: good acting should be acting naturally, one cannot tell the actors are pretending. I cannot say Zhang Hui Wen is doing it. Her facial expressions are blank, her body language is unnatural. She just doesn't give me the "into the story" feeling. Surely there are many fans disagree. Guess I just don't have the chemistry with her :D

I don't believe anyone would want to purposely give something a low rating just out of hatred. What hatred is there? If so, I believe these are simply trolls. People view everything very differently, including how we view flaws. To some, like me, no blood is not such a big deal (I noticed it and I just rolled my eyes - not enough to give it a bad rating). But it can be a big flaw for others because they are concerned with the minute details that make a good artwork. We cannot say they are harboring hatred. They're just being honest about it and we should appreciate this because we choose to overlook the details ourselves.

We all should exercise our own judgement. If we depend totally on others' comments to decide on a drama, we may miss out a lot. Furthermore, it's easy to see if a drama is good or not good by feeling the general consensus. In this case, the comments are overwhelmingly positive.

i share your rants and more. I'm also continuing because I've invested so much time in this and I've only begun to like Allen Ren - this is my 3rd drama of him. But like you said, this drama is really frustrating, fortunately, not as frustrating as And the Winner is Love.

Accepting different views is vital for our progress. We're not puppet, only listening to one view. We don't want to create a herd mentality too because that's so dangerous. Everything will crumble because someone disagree with another and want that voice to disappear.

I feel that may not be necessary true - people from China don't like it or only older ones like it. It's all to do with a person's perspective and what criteria the viewers use to judge an artwork. For me, my criteria is rather simple. Whatever that captures my emotions making me cry and laugh, is considered good. I would forgo being too harsh over the details.

Yikes! I think that spurs the killing of Liu Yi Kang even more, but I really hope not. I love the Shens.

Spin-off? Apart from the same production team, I can't see anything coming from Princess Weiyoung at all. There are no characters that pass on from that drama. Please enlighten me why you feel it's a spin-off (apart from the evil sister stuff).

Exactly. Some people look for all the details, and if these are missing, it upsets them, hence they down rate the movie/drama. They are called the critics. Nothing wrong with that. In fact it's essential because we need their comments to help us see what we don't see ourselves. Please do not berate negative comments because it's for our own good.
