I still could not figure out why this drama is super highly rated. I tried to watch it up to 10 episodes, and…
Have you ever watched something that makes you experience a whole spectrum of your emotions like crying, laughing, aching, longing, etc? Well, this drama magically does that. Admittedly it may not be the best drama if judged by certain criteria as compared to many others (I'm going to be bashed by my beloved Suibians here, but it's ok), it's still the only drama many fans hold dear to their hearts because of how it catches our emotions. Together with the music and the unspoken words, this drama captures our imagination like no others.
Since you're only at episode 10, you may want to watch further to catch those emotions I'm talking about.
I believe he made a pledge that he would help the hapless and weak, and rid the bad and corrupt. That's when Lan Zhan looks at him differently because he shares the same ideology.
I look at it differently: Wei WuXian and Jiang Cheng are both indebted to Wen Ning and Wen Qing. It is utmost…
I wouldn't call it reckless. Understand where Wei Wuxian has come from - from young, he's been taught "明知不可为而为之" (literally means "Knowing it's impossible but doing it anyway") by his Uncle Jiang. He takes it as his call to help the weak and hapless. I believe he has thought it through and knows this is what he needs to do even if it costs his life. He simply cannot live with himself if he hasn't done anything. This is Wei Wuxian. This is the youth many of us have come to love.
Finished Ep 32.. So that was the twist, he didn't got betrayed. He was schemed against. In my opinion Wu Xan is…
I look at it differently: Wei WuXian and Jiang Cheng are both indebted to Wen Ning and Wen Qing. It is utmost important for Wei WuXian to step up to save the Wen remnants who are also the Wen siblings' relatives (little Ah Yuan is their cousin's baby). As for himself, he has strayed into the demonic cultivation out of no choice, and he knows he would not be accepted in the cultivation world. Like he tells Lan Zhan: who wants to cross the single plank bridge if given a choice of a broad bright bridge? Therefore, the circumstance pushes him to do what he does. Whether or not he saves the Wen remnants, they would have been annihilated eventually because the cultivation world cannot tolerate them.
A good watch. Pity it started picking up the pace quite later into the episodes (about ep 20). I enjoyed it but…
Well, it has a lot of support from crazy fans like me, hence the high rating :D. Jokes aside, since this drama, I have also watched some other great costume dramas, such as Joy of Life. As much as I love those dramas, they don't give me the same kind of emotions that I got from The Untamed - I cried, I laughed, I longed for, I ached...., among others. I guess these feelings are very personal and no two persons share exactly the same, except perhaps for many fans here.
Yang Bing Yun’s acting is forced and stiff. Not a delight to watch. He was better in Untamed.!
I think that's how the Yan Bing Yun character is supposed to be like. However, the screen time is so short that it's hard to understand the character fully to make an assessment of Xiao Zhan's acting in this role.
Checking. How many of my veteran Suibians still lurking around here? Over.
Yes, I'm rejoining the fun again. I see we have over 10K viewers. Any of you over this drama yet? I was watching something else like Joy of Life, and all of a sudden, BAM! they released the short version of this drama, and clips inundated my youtube page. Can't help and my journey starts all over again, like summer 2019.
- Chinese Paladin 1- Chinese Paladin 3 (the characters are different, so don't worry about the order. I prefer…
You're totally right about preference. I put "Longest Day in Chang'an" on hold though I was waiting anxiously for it to air initially. As for "Nirvana in Fire", I fell asleep initially, then I decided to perk up and totally absorbed into the story; I even rewatched it a couple more times to understand some aspects of the story which I didn't grasp at first watch.
Since you're only at episode 10, you may want to watch further to catch those emotions I'm talking about.
Happy watching!
