Allen acting as a 13 year old and then a 8 year old is so cute
I thought I didn't like him, but I'm so in love with him now. I didn't like him in White Snake because of his weird hair-do, but he looks so awesome in his embroidered uniform. His cold face makes him so perfect for the role. So glad I didn't give up this drama.

I feel like I'm going to die of frustration watching this... 99% of the characters involved must be brain damaged.…
You're so right. I share your frustration. I stopped at episode 8 and have no motivation to continue because of all the stupid and annoying characters. However, this drama has an unusually high rating, and I'm not sure if I'm missing something. In your opinion, do the episodes get better?

Am I the only who can't connect to ning que after the cast change? I don't know why but Arthur potrayed ning que…
You're not alone. Watching season 1 and season 2 is like watching 2 totally unrelated dramas. The Ning Que character has totally changed. I understand he's supposed to grow up and become more developed as time passes, but this doesn't feel like development at all; it's a change of character. Also, the other supporting cast who have been replaced, their styles, personalities etc, have totally changed. I can't decide if I should continue ... Stopped at episode 12 and have no motivation to continue.,,,,

One goddamn thing I hate about chinese drama is that they use their FL characters to put over the ML.... like…
I totally agree with you. It really upsets me that Chinese dramas like to portray girls as dumb, silly and love-sick despite they're supposedly intelligent and smart. They're also being portrayed as air-headed because they always fall for some stupid reasons or stumble into the men's arms. How condescending!

I would say it ends as a "visual" cliffhanger but based on what we understand about the characters while watching…
Do start watching this one. It's a very interesting drama. Despite the "To be continued" ending, it doesn't spoil the overall story.

Good news: The Untamed cast is making a world tour.
Not so good news: Both Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo won't be going along.

No romance? Hmm, you're like me, initially, that is. You may want to re-watch it for 1,000 times. XD

It's always nice to see straight-faced men turn mushy; they are the cutest at those moments. :D
Hahaha! So true. Love your straightforwardness. Yes!

I love the feelings that this drama has awakened in me, feelings I thought long ago lost and real emotions which…
What you say doesn't sound stupid at all. I'm in the same boat! I guess many of us here are too! And yes, I love and appreciate everything you're doing as well - nature, music, reading, painting. This drama helps me appreciate the beauty in life which I tend to take for granted. This is indeed a very beautiful drama.

Now that Lu Yi has professed his feelings for Jin Xia, he is so gentle and protective over her. It's really cute!

Allen Ren and Seven Tan have always been on my list of top favourite actors, but after watching a few episodes…
Totally agree. Wonderful chemistry with the pair.

I don't think The Untamed should be discussed together with this one because both are so different in many ways.…
I agree with you 100%. I love both dramas but didn't know any of those actors initially, never watched their dramas. Both dramas give me totally different experiences - JOY is witty and humorous whereas CQL (The Untamed) is emotional. So far, I have not come across many dramas that match these aspects of a drama that engrosses me that much, in particular, CQL. :)

did you read the part about them being inside the chessboard? the thousand years chopping away at the buddha mountain?…
Heck! That spoils the little hope I'm holding on watching this drama for NQ. I guess the sooner I drop this series the better before I get too frustrated with the "pig". :( Thanks for the heads up.

I didn't start this series earlier because I thought Allen Ren was not my favorite actor. How wrong I was. He's so good in this drama. Together with Seven Tan, they make a perfect pair. I was hooked from episode one. I'm binge watching to catch up.

Giving myself 2 more episodes. If it still doesn't click with me, I'm done. So many new dramas out there waiting to be explored.
