I love the scene in episode 14 (anime), where Jiang Cheng reassembles his disciples living in Chongyang, and are attacked by the Wen sect, and Lan Zhan protects them with all his might until his hands are all bloody for playing too long and hard on his instrument. That scene is so good!
From ep 33 to the end, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan spend almost every moment with each other. They are practically tied…
You should make a full list of all the sweet scenes of Wei Ying and Lan Zhan so that we can all bookmark those scenes, and watch them every moment we have. You'll be our hero! XD

This is really funny. We were supposed to answer some questions and here we are, indulging ourselves in some steamy scenes. This is a good way to prolong our joy in this drama. Hahahahahaha ...
Maybe watch it and see for yourself. In the end masterpieces or not it's subjective and personal opinion right?…
Hooray! Congratulations in getting your feet wet. By the time you finish, and if you are as affected by the drama as we are, do come back here to share your experience. We're all ears and shoulders. XD.
Sorry, got a lot of questions. Please summarise why is this a masterpiece? For me, Eternal Love and NiF were masterpieces.…
So, I want to put this right in front: The Untamed is a low budget web drama, unlike Eternal Love and Nirvana in Fire. It doesn't have big name actors (male and female) like Yang Mi and Hu Ge. Therefore, it is not fair to compare them side by side, like comparing apples with oranges.
I loved both Eternal Love and Nirvana in Fire. I re-watched them multiple times. I find the romance in Eternal Love sexy. There is not much romance in Nirvana In Fire but the plots are seamless. There are not many obvious flaws and holes you can find in these two dramas.
Whereas for The Untamed, almost everything is rough, from the CGI to the logic of the story. There are holes everywhere. But the funny thing is, all these imperfections become unimportant anymore for us to love this drama. This is because of the lovable characters and their relationships with each other, and the memorable music. The emotions that this drama can stir within us - joy, pain, anger, and calm, the moral of the story, and more -- all these form the "golden core" of our souls; it touches us.
I was obsessed with Eternal Love and Nirvana In Fire for awhile. But I could still move on to watch other dramas, do other stuff. I listened to the beautiful OSTs (for the previous dramas) on and on, and was mesmerized with the beautiful posters of the casts. But with The Untamed, the obsession goes beyond what I had experienced previously; I find myself become a crazy fan, talking silly things over and over (not that I don't talk silly all the time). It is this heart-felt experience that helps us look into our inner selves. That's the thing that can only be felt and not explained. We love its imperfections.
Of course, The Untamed is not for everyone, especially those who can't stand one man goo-goo eyeing with another man, not for viewers who are looking for only romances between opposite sex, and not for viewers with perfect viewing criteria. However, one may be surprised if one keeps an open mind. I was (surprised).
The Untamed is far from perfect under the strict rules of good drama/movie. However, to its staunch supporters, it is perfect, no matter what. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", as it goes.
I'm going to tell you NOT to watch this one first. As another person on this discussion board had once pointed…
Yes, @Myauntmary, maybe you should take @DogmaticPrincess's advice: watch Love and Destiny first. For that matter, maybe you should watch all the dramas you want to watch first, before you watch The Untamed, even if it's going to take months or years XD XD XD. Really, if you don't, you may become like us - can't watch any other dramas anymore.
Absolutely. Lan Zhan falls for Wei Ying pretty early in the story. Wei Ying does have some feelings for Lan Zhan, but he also feels it's impossible because Lan Zhan is supposed to be a role model. That's why we see Lan Zhan is the one who seeks out Wei Ying all the time.
Like you, I don't feel any romance between Wen Qing and Wei Ying either. Their friendship is simply platonic. Wen Qing has saved Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying has also saved Wen Ning and Wen Qing's family. They have what we call, "Qing Yi".
You know, I don't feel any hint that Wei Ying has any romantic feelings with his shijie. Perhaps it's rather typical of Chinese families with closed sibling connection as with Wei Ying and his adoptive family. I see Wei Ying loves and respects his shijie very much because she always takes care of him. He always thinks she's the best in the world and deserves to marry the best man. That's why he beats up Jin ZiXuan when the latter is rude to her, just like any brother who wants to protect his sister. I love watching those scenes of him with his shijie; they are so sweet, you can feel the concern and love one for the other. There is one scene, Wei Ying tries to ask his shijie how it is like to like someone; that is the hint that he has some feelings for Lan Zhan but he isn't sure. She tries to explain to him of her own feelings for Jin ZiXuan. The music Yi Nan Ping always makes me emotional because it is Wei Ying's memory of her, among others, he longs to hear her calling him A-Xian again.
Hmm, depends. The drama itself may be a bit confusing, especially in the beginning. So the book can provide a bit of background. But, I wouldn't wait too long to watch this drama, because I don't want you to be deprived of the joy for too long. In conclusion, watch and read together if you have time. :)
Oh mind! Hsu Thassapak is perfect for acting the character of Fang Leng. He has been cool and level headed throughout, and I didn't expect his emotions at the last episode. It is epic! The pain he goes through in losing a loved one is so authentic, and he makes me cry along with him. Bravo performance!
