It is so satisfying to find another viewer like you sharing our joy in this drama. Like you, I have been selective with my drama viewing although I watch mostly Chinese dramas. But this drama is one that makes me keep coming back for anything that is related to it or to its 2 main lead actors. I even find the cast's Bangkok visit so interesting to watch (I would have found such viewing a waste of time previously). Yes, like you, I'm addicted to this drama, and everything related to it. My family would tell me this is bad, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm enjoying it. So, who cares! XD.

So glad you like this drama and satisfy with it as we do, despite its certain shortcomings. Hope you don't fall into the post drama syndrome like we do here too. One month later, I still find the need to talk about this drama; I don't seem to be able to let go.

Despite all the holes and flaws here and there, poor acting by some peripheral actors, hard-to-understand certain parts of the story and logic, substandard editing etc, this drama is phenomenal in terms of its visual appeal and music composition. One really has to sit in, watch it and listen to it, to appreciate it.

At this point, I don't think the label we want to use on this drama important anymore. The most important thing is, most viewers like me have enjoyed it tremendously.

I'm normally not a "bromance" fan. But after watching this drama, something touches me. I don't know what, but I love this drama so much that I can't put it down. Even though initially when watching this drama, I felt the relationship was more of a soulmate friendship, but after reading some parts of the novel and watching the anime, I realize it is more than just a soulmate relationship. But this drama has cleverly and carefully "twisted" the story to avoid that censorship threshold and yet not losing its heart-warming love relationship appeal. That's what makes this drama so loved and unforgettable. The two main male leads are so good together as if they are made for each other. Since this drama, I realized the misconception I have always on such relationship (bromance) due to our social norms and religious intolerance. I also realize only with an open mind, I can see further and feel more of the things around me.

Having any talents is of course very impressive, be it singing or dancing, or playing a musical instrument. I guess, such talents are broadly classified under the entertainment industry and hence, inevitably, these talented youngsters also wade into the acting profession. Despite both Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo haven't gone through acting schools, many such talents do undergo rigorous training in acting before they find any acting work. Though acting may seem easier compared with say, knowing how to sing and dance, or playing a musical instrument (very well), not everyone can act or be accepted well by the public; only those who can act and have the special charisma can become successful. However, having said this, of course, the scripts and characters of a movie/drama are utmost important. Both Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo have acted in various dramas and movies, but have never received such attention, until now. Most youngsters would have preferred the acting route because they can be rewarded better than as musicians or dancers, once they become famous.

Many of the Chinese actors and actresses are multi-talented before they go into acting. Unlike in the old days, many of the actresses were enlisted through beauty pageants, and then sent for brief acting classes.

Officially, Yi Nan Ping (the Lotus Pier song) is sung by a different singer, Yin Ling. The actress, Xuan Lu, is an amazing dancer (https://youtu.be/rb3utd03jZU). This Yi Nan Ping song is one of my favorite OSTs in this drama. Each time I hear it, vocal or instrumental, I'd become emotional. It's Wei Ying's memory of his shijie.
