I was initially confused and didn't like the monsters / zombies that much. But at the end of episode 2, when it…
I'm so glad you find this drama. Yes, I can assure you, you're going to love it like we do. Right now, I feel like a teenager, obsessed with something that I can't make sense of. But who cares? What matters is I love it.
What did Wen. Ruohan promise to Xue Yang (ep 3)? Is it about his revenge?
That (the revenge) was so sad and petty, and I hated him for that, until I read the lyrics of his character song. Apparently Xue Yang was supposedly only a young boy as Wei Ying called him "little boy" when he (Wei Ying) caught him. So I would assume he didn't know right and wrong, until it was too late for him, as expressed in his character song.
When the kites flew in Ep 07, the flute instrumental soundstrack sounds a lot like the instrumental played when…
I have watched Princess WeiYoung and that song is on my playlist, so I'm pretty familiar with it. No, they are not at all similar as far as I can tell. Try listen to The Untamed OSTs separately, and repeatedly, then you may agree with me. The OSTs in this drama (The Untamed) are the best I've ever heard so far.
This drama has the best OSTs I have ever heard, be they vocal or instrumental, they are so beautiful. The character songs describe each character appropriately. From these songs, I even managed to understand some characters better whom I initially disliked, such as Xue Yang. The lyrics and music in the Yi Nan Ping (Jiang Yanli's character song) is the one that makes me cry whenever I listen to it because it is Wei Ying's memory of his shijie (Jiang Yanli); it's so heart-wrenching. The Qing Xin Yin (Clear Heart Tune) with the Luan Po Chao (Muddle Soul) interlude is so perfectly done, that by itself, it is already a master piece. The Wu Ju song, purportedly composed by Lan Zhan for Wei Ying, describes perfectly what happens between them - it is their song. Another song that strikes me most, among others, is the Lotus Cove song. Whenever I hear it, I can feel Wei Ying's fond memories of his growing up life living in the Lotus Cove, so carefree and happy, adored by all, especially his shijie. OMG! I can't help but cry for him when he lost all these.
Yes, I would overlook any holes and flaws this drama may have, and just listen to this beautiful music. This alone, is worthy of our time.
Gotta be honest, took a few episodes to get into it, but after passing episode 20 it's soo good and I'm totally…
I was initially confused and didn't like the monsters / zombies that much. But at the end of episode 2, when it flashes back to 16 years earlier, when the boys were still young, that's when I got hooked. Wei Ying is the sweetest character, and together with Lan Zhan, those are the fondest memories.
Heck! I'm getting myself all confused now - re-watching this drama, reading the novel and watching the anime. I get all the events jumbled up. Sigh! Have to start everything all over again. Well, a good excuse for more watching XD.
Try watching/reading/listening to the other adaptations too. Each have their own merits.
I was confused with some parts in the drama and found clarifications from the novel and anime. I can understand it is hard to cover everything solidly in a drama without sacrificing certain elements, and not forgetting this is a low budget drama to begin with. I just appreciate this drama in bringing life to the characters, supplying us with hours of beautiful music, and painting those beautiful visuals of fine men in our minds that would last forever.
Awww! That's so sweet, but silly Wei Ying. He should have felt it because Lan Zhan always appears whenever he's in trouble. Lan Zhan always seeks him out wherever he may go. But then again, maybe he (Wei Ying) finds it hard to reckon that Lan Zhan would forsake his own sect/clan teachings and go all the way out with him. Isn't that satisfying!
Exactly, moreover pay attention to the voice, it was Lan Zhan.. if it was not him.. I better clean my ears harder.
Yep! Lan Zhan's voice is low and firm. And that's how he's been addressing Wei Ying throughout, simply "Wei Ying", others including Jiang Cheng, call him "Wei Wu Xian".
Yes, I would overlook any holes and flaws this drama may have, and just listen to this beautiful music. This alone, is worthy of our time.
