This show is so emotionally investing. I am only at episode 18 and already had so many emotional fits.
Take out your tissue box, a box of chocolate, your beloved pet pillows, your security blanket or anything else - you're a long way to go, and more emotional turmoil to endure, like all of us here. I finished the drama about a week ago, but I still can't let go. Man! This drama's drained me so much.

When you said GXW, I assume you meant GuJian.

Yes, GuJian lived in the Xi State with Xiao Feng. But he's also Mr Chai's foster son, and Mr Chai is LCY's secret strategist, hence General Pei is also closely working with Mr Chai and knows GuJian.

You take the words out of my mouth. My goal in life is to learn a foreign language - just to watch dramas! XD

Title Good Bye, My Princess Spoiler
Wait, are you saying that you feel Pei Zhao should've lied and said he was Xiaowu during the arrow scene to save…
From the beginning of the drama when they met, I have the impression that only GuJian, Xiao Feng, Adu and the Danchi tribe knew about the existence of GuXiaoWu. Since everybody was slaughtered and left only GuJian, Xiao Feng and Adu, so GuXiaoWu became a secret among the 3.

It's so beautiful the way you put it. Yes, the characters are complex and how they had acted given the circumstances. Love to hear more of your analysis of the characters and situation as you watch more of the drama. Come back soon with your comments.

Ah yes, I get what you mean now. Let's have a re-incarnation 3,000 years later of Li Chen Yin and Xiao Feng into the modern days. Here, LCY can fall in love with Xiao Feng again, and try to make amends for her. But she is a badass, and kicks his a*** in return. She falls in love with all the good-looking men around her. Only at the end, LCY stays true and catches her heart. The end. This is their 3rd life, and all our mushy hearts get amended. Great idea.

Yeah, same here. As it is, it's so unsatisfying.

Title The Legends
There are 2 versions for Episode 19. One version is cut badly and very confusing. This is the other version which…
As far as I can observe, all the versions are similar except for episode 19. The difference in the so-called versions are mainly due to the added prologue in front of an episode or preview at the end. The content in the body is basically the same. As for episode 19, they cut out a big chunk of the content, making it very hard to understand. So if you watch this episode from the link I provided here, maybe you can understand the story better.

Love your analysis and deep thought into the characters and their intermingling. Come to think of it, yes, not many knew about GXW's existence except XF, GJ and Adu. General Pei knew LCY went into the Danchi camp on a covert mission, but never knew of his identity as a "boy friend" of XF and the assumed name he used. He also didn't know LCY and XF fell in love and was about to get married. He didn't know the friendship LCY had with the warriors and XF's family. (As upstanding as General Pei is, he might have probably kicked LCY's a*** for being such a hypocrite.) All who knew about the Danchi marriage and GXW were slaughtered, except XF and Adu. GJ wasn't there so I assume he didn't know about the marriage also.
Like you, I also need time to figure all these out. Right now, my brain is still mushy after finishing the whole drama.

Title Good Bye, My Princess Spoiler
I was #TeamShifu early on. Let me start by saying that I haven't read the novel, and this is the first series…
I think after the Danchi killing, Gu Jian had been remorseful and trying to make things up for Xiao Feng. Numerous times he tried to withdrawn himself from the entanglement, but each time, he was reminded of his duty as the last surviving descendant of the Gu family. He was very torn. I hate his killing for a mistaken identity. It seems so unfair. Everyone except Li Chen Yin, knew who Gu Xiao Wu was and yet no one said anything. This logic doesn't go well with me.

Yes, Chen Xing Xu is such a wonderful actor. He captures love, hatred, kindness, cruelty, playfulness, seriousness,…
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll check it out.

A modern version may not be as heart-wrenching as this one. I don't think the modern ladies would want to be used as puppets, to be manipulated like this without putting up a fight. A modern day Li Chen Yin would have had his bu** kicked long time ago.

Everybody, except the two - Li Chen Yin and Xiao Feng, knows everything that had happened and yet no one says anything, especially General Pei. He could have told Li Chen Yin that Gu Xiao Wu was he himself and not Gu Jian. He could have revealed what had happened to Li Chen Yin (like his memory lost by jumping into the Wang Juang Hu, he was the one who cheated Xiao Feng and led to the decimation of her tribe etc). Then all these unnecessary killings could have been avoided. But then, with the current flow, that's how the story has to develop to stir up our emotions and makes us boil.

I really don't have any idea on this. The ending tends to show there's still something going on. We just have to use our imagination.

Does he ever get his memory back of betraying her and killing her grandfather in the final episodes?
That's the thing that bugs me most - even after he regains his memory, he knows he had killed her tribe, he shows no remorse. I don't get it.
