Title Joy of Life
I don't really care what anybody thinks but this child actor is good many doors will open for him back to the…
The child actor (Finn Han/Han Haolin) has gained a lot of praises for his role as little Wuji in Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre 2019, and even more so in the movie My People, My Country. I agree, he's fantastic and his acting is mature way beyond his age.

Thank you so much! (Also for your response downthread)

Can someone confirm if Jia Yibo is Gu Feng'en's courtesy name?

I really wish Viki gets the license of the series. The current YT subbing works for me, but it doesn't put the names of the characters as written on screen. Also, Viki subbers often add related information in their translation, which is not only helpful but interesting as well.

Title Royal Nirvana Spoiler
I did not completely get the plots involving the scroll..but it was more understandable than the exam cheating…
Wait, I thought the exam fiasco was actually started by the Crown Prince! That's why the Crown Prince tells Prince Qi that he should've been suspicious why PM Li coincidentally caught the officer who stole the exam questions. Didn't he also spend the night before the exam writing fake letters with Prince Qi's handwriting style?

And that's also why Minister Lu is mad at him (on ep 7), because he uses his intellect and (conspiracy?) for a less noble cause.

But I watched eps 7-8 raw, and saw translation of some parts on Twitter, so very likely I've misinterpreted it.

It's the weekend, wait till Monday before you panic. I heard it was officially airing one ep Monday to Friday,…
Yes!! Just saw that ep 6-8 have been released on Youku. Phew!

I read on another forum that this drama just get cancelled or postponed! No wonder it hasn't been updated since episode 6 (raw) and 5 (subbed). Does anyone know or read what has happened?

Thanks Erudite! Didn't know Bloody Romance was initially planned to have on-site recording, but I understand their concern. I must have hearing problem during my Longest Day in Chang An watching time, because I couldn't tell they were using on-site recording (or maybe mix it with dubbing as per your explanation). And now that I think back of Ever Night, there were scenes in which some dialogues were not clear?

Human, it is serviceable, and got the gist of meaning for you to follow the story but the translation wasn't accurate…
I really appreciate that the producer (or distributor) provides English subtitles. But I also hope the characters' names written on screen will be translated as well :)

Yeah, I don't think it was recorded on site. Very rarely Chinese dramas do. The only period drama using on-site recording that I know is the Three Heroes and Five Gallants (Yan Kuan & Chen Xiao's version).

The trailer, synopsys, and leads are on point. It all feels like an intense historical/political/romantic drama.…
They've shortened it to 60 episodes

Is the ending a happy ending or is it open ended?
It's a happy ending.

Title Better Days
Watched the movie last night -- and it's worth the hype. Gritty, gripping, and haunting. Stayed until the end credit. Superb acting from Zhou Dongyu -- but also an impressive performance from movie newcomer Jackson Yi. If you have the chance to see this movie on theater, go for it!

They are the only reason I am still watching this. So far it's not so good.
I echo your sentiment. I'm not comfortable at all with the idea that the audience is supposed to support lovers which are also ex in-laws. But doesn't Deng Lun's character in Ashes of Love do the same thing? LOL.

No offense. What I meant was it was covered by mainstream international media. Yes, Untamed has huge international fandom and talked about in countless forums, but not in international mainstream media.

No problem at all! I'm happy it helped. A lot of people misunderstood it. Actually we had tons of discussions about the drama and the ending back during its airing time. If you have time & patience, you can scroll down and read the discussions.

But it is one that is most covered by in international media. Except the Story of Yanxi Palace, I don't recall other hits like Ten Miles of Peach Blossom, Ashes of Love, or this year's Go Go Squid and the Untamed being talked much about in international media. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Some of them:

Also author/analyst Carl Zha has been gushing about it for weeks in his tweets (I don't remember him doing it for other dramas. Again, CMIIW).

the last few eps are so sad, this isn't mr. fighting; this is mr. losing
Huh? It's a happy ending. Nobody is a loser - in the end they're all fighters & survivors.

Chang An isn't dead A poem is written on the fan, which gives clue to his location. At the end of the drama, the camera pans to a house in another city, with an apricot tree in its yard.
