I haven't watched episode 14 but I highly suspected many of the things you've said also in the episode right after Yue killed, i.e the episode where the characters find out.

GYX's words "or a loved one." And... also Yue's death allowed for GZY to complete/pass the first trial. And definitely there is a different force that want GZY to be the SW.

And especially the herbs point. Can't believe it's not mentioned that many times before in the comments. Again once Yue died, it kind of becomes a strong, extreme possibility that younger Yue was responsible and the fact that he has knowledge of herbs reinforces it.

Actually I think GZY did make the 10 day challenge (albeit because he received outside help and loopholes provided for him). The challenge was for him to pass the first trial, and unless there is more to it... I think he passed.

The stalemate came I think because GZY didn't allow SJ to go to the elders about WuJi, so both had reasons to let go of the challenge.

They actually didnt ever pretend. After that idea was brought up was the portrait test. YWS grabbed on to her for a talk and SQG herself asked what happened to the plan? Only little things like the flower plantings etc, and SQG acting betrayed/upset during portrait reveal.

There are a few instances to point to, but recent one is SQG got the other half of the book. He knows the story SQG gave him is BS. Also both went to clinic for fever meds.

Its not necessarily that he believes they are a team. He may not know or be sure. But he definitely knows/suspects them both and that both are aware of each other.

Yeah, the photographic memory and being able to recite the SW tattoo because he saw it as a kid? How is everyone so sure that is censors and not director's choice?

Because how does that help the story and intrigue as it is right now?

How does his photographic memory explain the fact that HY was chosen over GSJ? What would've happened if GSJ were present when SW and HY died? What if only SW died, then it would be HY who would be SW. Does HY have photographic memory and had seen the tattoo also? Or again, what if GSJ were present after death and not away?

Fans just are upset ML is not portrayed as the smartest, or best, or strongest, imo. It's not necessarily censors.

I am in a similar though not same boat. I think I already have a pretty good idea where it's all going, so for me it's all that you mention, and also how they execute along the way in order to get to the end.

I think he thinks of her as a child he brought up, because she mentioned it's been almost 20 years since she was first brought to WF. Don't him to be a romantic mentor character, but I really do like their scenes and they are one of the most interesting dynamics, unfortunately less story on them.

SGQ says it's curiosity. But perhaps to his detriment, it could also be that GSJ feels it's better to keep enemy close and get to the root/bottom of it. Even if he gets rid of SGQ, there is still the other suspected Wufeng bride to whom he has minimal to no access. Yes it could/would mean overconfidence in feeding the hand that bites you. But there is a strategy and reasoning to his choosing to keep her close rather than having cut her off that too with no proof.

I am not complaining about the pace or the fact that there are only 12 episodes to go. I am enjoying it. It's not about the romance for me, so if anything those song sequences are the ones that are drawn out for me... just mentioning that only to say that I'm not complaining about dialogue or 'slow' moving, or unwanted scenes, etc.

A question, if you can answer it. I only watched the first few episodes. How did they deal with the real Mr. Xiao? What happened to him?

Heh, I don't care about the romance at all. It's so difficult to find a good drama in these genres where romance is not the main story. And while there is romance, it doesn't overwhelm the story.

Elders agreed to uphold the trials requirement for ZY. But he's being favored, rules put in place for all participants of trial are being bent, broken, etc, left and right.

I am not even saying GSJ should be SW. ZY has been thrown into this, and that is what it's going to be. However, GSJ had fulfilled all the requirements for SW and he was not chosen which baffled people, and SW was even starting to tell him why, feeling sorry for the slight shown to GSJ.

After the deaths of SW and son, GSJ was indeed absent--the only reason he was not chosen SW, and so he is not SW. I also acknowledge that ZY has been made SW. And it's perhaps not possible to take that back. And add to that, there seems to be something special about ZY.

However elders agreed that ZY should complete trials, and the rules of trials have been broken or bent again, and again, and again. So even if they have their reasons, they want to give a perception of fairness, but it is not.

I am just stating something that's been portrayed again, and again, and again, on the show.
