Yeah I agree his actions became extreme. But I honestly feel like it was way too early for him to have jealousy and restlessness the way he did before realizing about the spell.

Anyway we will see. I just feel it would be a cop out because the whole set up is supernatural anyway... so why not go with it and deal with it instead of conveniently removing that plot point/obstacle.

I always wondered if it wasn't SML who hired someone to follow and keep tabs on HJ, after she saw HJ;s and SY's interaction in front of City Hall. With this episode it looks like a possibility. HJ just picked up on someone following her, and when he left when she realized it, or when he saw SY's figure.

Though if SFL hired someone to follow HJ, I don't know why she would get the 'kiss pictures" so late... also if she hired someone, wouldn't they show the aftermath as well of the non-kiss?

Another thing. Why did JK say "I know what it is" when HJ told him about the gardener and wondered what it could be if not the spell. Is he the deadbeat family JK's trying to get away from. Please, OMG... don't have everything and anything be all just one big connection!

Of course, he could be just saying that the gardener likes her because she's pretty, but it's weird to state that about a possible stalker that SY just called to warn her to lock doors.

There is one doubt I always had about the chaser at night.

But...if the whole premise is paralleling previous lives, curse, etc then aren't spells perfectly reasonable in that world? Okay, maybe the red hand was in his mind. But are we saying the spell-casting and his crashing the car are coincidences?

This such an old school K-Drama. It's straight up not playing with the SFL.

It really wouldn't make sense, and would be a stretch. I honestly don't think they knew each other enough for him to have suddenly felt jealous and feelings. Even if he had deja-vu dreams and feelings. (One could excuse the heart-beating fast as pre-destined or attraction that he hadn't realized before, but I feel like that is such a stretch and cop-out.) He only pieced together the love potion when he stopped himself from going into the place where HJ and JK were meeting. I can believe some of his OTT reactions afterwards, brain whatever aggravated it... But still to still to say there was just pre-destined attraction, imo takes away from their story development in this life.

Also... they purposefully used the Fair Skin spell, which is not easy to tell if it worked or not.

Also, the whole point of the story itself is the 'other-worldly' element. If you have past lives, Shaman, curses, and the fact that HJ is the owner of the box--all that is supernatural. So how could the spells and the spell book, which the Shaman holds in high regard and has faith/trust in,be bogus and fake?

Furthermore not just screentime--main leads do not have to be strongest, or most righteous or correct. They could even end up being incorrect or the losing side in the end. But no variety of storytelling is allowed by this toxic fandom driven industry.

Yeah, I've said that if it isnt YWS as sole lead then the two main leads actually could/should be both girls with a few narrative changes.

How do you know actors don't know what they signed up for? Just because fans go crazy and actors applogize to fans to quell the craziness doesn't mean they didn't know what the script and story was.

I am going to stop watching dramas as they air unless they are low key. Cannot have good stories told because people don't judge from story or characterization, but rather on who has which rank billing.

And from the crazy fan reactions at their fav or leads not going or being or shown the way "leads are supposed to be," I doubt I'll find any meaningful storyline-centered, high-production drama that has right amount of tone (i.e not all serious and dark) which I can just watch for light enjoyment.

Yes. She is not one only lead, but she is the primary lead. There are actually four leads in this drama but the industry is just set up to have couple leads

China's C-Drama fan industry, probably also encouraged by Production Companies and agencies, is so toxic man. It really hinders the ability and quality that can be achieved.

People cannot enjoy, or ever just create a good story. It must all be about the idols, screentime and ego that their favs' characters should be in competition with the others, and can and should only be shown in the best light.

I don't know what can be done about it, but it is not healthy and only hurts the quality of storytelling-potential possible in the industry.

Not sure about who is responsible for security inside. Yue would be in charge of internal affairs. Jue is external affairs. I think the guards just have more respect and trust GSJ and also they knew he was best person to report to about the SW.

I don't think he fully believes her lies. But he is having serious doubts on whether he was wrong. He is still keeping tabs on YWS coming to visit SGQ, told YZ that he knows how to deal with both SGQ and WuJi (of course this was before the questioning of WuJi).

He is convinced that her identity is real, since he says it can't be faked. However as ZY reminded him (as I'm sure he himself knows) that doesn't mean she can't be WuFeng.

We are seeing YZ's worry that SJ is completely believing her and falling for her (the falling for her may be true), but from SJ's perspective, it would be a better strategy to not let ZY be so confident and discuss all suspicions with him--because the best way to get SGQ's guard down is to let her and even ZY believe she is winning over GSJ's suspicions.

People think YWS much more talented and could be above SQG/Chi, and still believe she is just carelessly slipping up?

Hi, do they ever explain what happened to the real Mr. Xiao? And if so, what? How is that dealt with. Because that's what made me drop this drama about 8 or 9 episodes in. Need to know if that is addressed before continuing.

I have a similar thought to yours, but more like what you mentioned in your reply above. This could be an ensemble cast without one pair leading. Or, the two leads should be the two assassin brides entering the hill (of course then the narration would be different), or the sole lead should be YWS. However the the nature of the industry and fandom dictate that it should be a romantic pair-coupling as the leads.

There is also another aspect to this in terms of the how drama deliberately makes a decision of how the Main leads (meaning the ML and FL) are handled opposed to the secondary leads. Which I'm waiting to see how it unfolds.

People just automatically kept assuming, theorizing and making conjectures even after half-way into the drama that SJ was some evil, villain mastermind plotting to take down his family, or that he will soon turn against his family, or that he's been doing nefarious things, or whatever.

Just because the novel gives some fan service doesn't mean the final cut of the drama would. There are things fans complain that are 'deleted scenes' which wouldn't have necessarily have been a good fit to be included in drama. What they are bemoaning is cut actually does nothing to the storyline as of now.

To me, this is more like a final draft of the story.

I have more thoughts for which I will wait to see how drama plays out and ends.
