I absolutely agree. They are not wrong. GZY got the position either because of an accident or by design (most likely nefarious). But what's done is done. However they are correct in their feelings.

Dude, I really hope the mom doesn't embarrass herself by falling for the friend. I'm not hating on the mom or the fact that she felt validated by his respecting and complimenting her choice. I understand it's something that moved her. I just hope they don't write it that she starts viewing it romantically.

Also hope, they don't make it a romance from both sides, either. But I think it's more likely that it would be one-sided. I just hope they keep it platonic on both sides.

But when she got the tumblr back from her Mr. Gong, she kind of turned it almost upside down when she asked him if he drank it. There's no way that tumblr still had a lot of liquid in it, if any. But apparently there was, since if she had refilled it, she would've known it was not the potion the stalker drank.

The guy was a little taken by her even before the spell, when we first see him with her in the highway set up the flowers.

That being said, I absolutely believe the potion had the effect on JSY. He wouldn't behave and start feeling those strong feelings that quickly without any outside effect. It takes a bit more time. Plus the exaggerated feelings, which even if some may say was the result of him thinking his feelings are of love spell, is just convoluted writing. You can't have a premise and then try to retcon it. You work with that premise show the development and evolution.

I am suspicious if now he's just covering up his real feelings by the the fact that the disaster spell may not have worked. I think there's a good chance that disaster spell worked. And now he's actually spent enough time with her so it's real feelings now. Which is again why I go back to how his initial feelings couldn't have been all him, they didn't spend enough time together at that point.

And even if it were his past life influencing feelings, that still goes back to it not being all

At this point, I believe he is SW, and he can't just abdicate it. GSJ is saying to make sure he fulfills the requirements, and only if he doesn't fulfill them to lose the position (though in actuality it can't be that easy even if GZY fails the tests and even if he's not Gong bloodline, because it was already done and can't easily be undone). Even if he passes the trial, technically YWS shouldn't be there either, and it probably wouldn't stand up to scrutiny--so his passing the trial would be in question as well, if one really wants to dig deep.

Of course, I'm not saying that GZY isn't abdicating because he knows he can't. It's absolutely pride and competition driving him. But he did swear an oath, as well.

But I believe the bigger story is the fact that he was thrown into this position by either circumstances or design, and how he can mature into actually being worthy enough to protect and carry out what needs to be done as chaos and fighting erupt.

I actually agree with you. I think we are on the same page. Multiple leads are what this show is and what I like about it. Not just the top two billed, and thus they all have perpectives and journeys

I actually didn't say they were fans of the actor. I can see my choice of 'ML' would lead you to think that, sorry. I meant generally going into a show with the mentality that ML/FL (top two billed, whoever the actors are) are correct and their foes, those in conflict with them are in the wrong.

Anf for the record I like the character of GZY and actually expect him to maintion SW position he was thrown into, by rising to the challenges thrown at him. I just don't think that means his character is/should always be right.

None of them are innocent or perfect and that includes ML, who while is innocent, but also still childish and petty. but fandom always want ML to be the greatest, steongest, correct one.

People act as if GZY isn't also petty and throwing around accusations. And if we really want to get into it, YWX is not supposed to be there with him during his trial. They created a shady loophole.

I don't think they are haters, but instead the opposite. ML must be supported, and must be the one fully in the right when it comes to conflicts with others who are not the FL, especially other male leads.

Poison lineage, by the very nature of their work, is bound to be cruel. I think that line of work requires a sort of cruelty that is not needed in the other lineages, including Jue.

I thought the same thing about how they looked believable in the flashback. I even thought the FML looks so so pretty with the fuller black hair (may have been a wig).

I do feel that it's possible considering his outburst to his servant when news of death was delivered, but it's not clear whether that was just a front/face-saving attempt for Gong family (I don't believe he did it for his ego, but rather...how dare you talk about family matters this way).

SGQ guessed it was to map out the place. Han Ya Si mentioned the mission wasn't to kill the Sword Wielder when he reported the death. It's supposed to be mystery that will be revealed later, I guess.
