Don't you guys feel like Gwi Joo's Father is in a similar situation to Gwi Joo's ex-wife? Just as Gwi Joo was…
I think one of the most important lessons for the Bok family is to empathize with other human beings without regard to powers. Because through their fixation on their powers, they've lost their own humanity.

There are a lot of comments very concerned for I Na without actually taking into account what she's been telling…
I literally just tweeted that https://x.com/daebakpodcast1/status/1794931370445459581. People keep underestimating her. She's not just a fragile schoolgirl, she's also got superpowers and nerves of steel. She knows what she wants (a real family) and she's pushing her father to get it for her.

Also, people keep trying to stuff the women in the drama into certain stereotypes like Evil Schemer and Bullied Schoolgirl but the drama itself refuses to do that. The women are all complex, intelligent and powerful in different ways, yes even Ina. Maybe especially Ina.

At this point I Na is pushing them together as well. I think she probably prefers this.
That's what I think too. It's significant that in Ep 7 Ina told her father you did it, you finally saved someone (Dong Hee), now go save Dahae. https://x.com/barxspel/status/1794484634878914774

For one thing, they are now talking which wasn't happening at all before. Second, she understands that her father's healing and her own relationship with him depend on Dahae. Also, one of the past moments he revisited was when they were eating together as a little found family. I understand what people are frustrated because I've definitely felt the same in points but given all of the massive clues of Dahae's importance to his family it doesn't seem crazy to me that he's trying to figure out what exactly happens to them in his future and her past.

ETA: I forgot the scene where Ina looks her father in the eye and then happily says "You spent the day with Dahae" https://x.com/jangkidragon/status/1794731844988203321

does GW like DH or does he like the idea of saving DH from her misery since he has a superhero complex? i still…
Based on his reaction to seeing her scam the potential husband I think he likes her. He admires how smart and resilient she is.

I'm loving this sooo much omg for real. This is going to be a long rant so bear with me lol.I think what this…
I cosign everything you said here, especially this: "I understand why they like each other because, in the end, they're two broken people who finally got some hope thanks to the other one" I am a huge simp for broken people who are puzzle pieces who only fit each other, it's my absolute favorite trope and I'm getting fed so well here. It's a trope I see more in Japanese dramas than Kdramas so it's cool to see a high budget production that only Korea can put out that also touches on these themes.

I love this series, but this ep didn't do much for me, except for all the hotness and cuteness and lack of clothing.First…
Based on the way this show has handled sexuality, I think the writer and director wanted bisexual representation.

I'm really curious, how Ina's power works? It seems like she need to look directly to eyes to read their mind,…
Either it's because she guessed it rather than read it in his mind or we're going to have to handwave past that bit πŸ˜…

Do you guys think they just want us to believe the granddad is having and affair or do you all think he is actually…
This show never serves us anything in an expected or straightforward way so I'm going to vote no to Bok Appa having an affair.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
The scene where Ina tells Gwiju "You did it. You saved someone with your power like a superhero" is incredibly important:

- Gwiju saved Dong Hee, a member of his family, not Dahae.
- But he saved Dong Hee through Dahae, she's the means by which he can take action in the past
- Ina tells Gwiju that he needs to save Dahae too BUT she doesn't mention his powers. That seems significant. As we've seen with everyone in the family, the powers are useful but they are also a trap. Gwiju may save Dahae but not in the way he thinks (also signalled in the scene where he tells her his sunbae may have been the one who rescued her from the fire)
- Also Dahae is already saving Gwiju, Ina and the whole Bok family, obviously
- At the end when Gwiju reveals how he's going to save Dahae, he's using his powers but not directly. Instead, he's aligning himself with the scammers to steal from the future the way his mother has been stealing for her entire life.
- Ina's and Gwiju's actions are closing the gap between the two families and drawing them closer together and healing both (Dahae's healing has already begun and it will extend to Grace, the silent uncle and maybe even Evil Eomma)

Did I mention I love this show? I love this show 😭😭😭

Thoughts about Dong Hee: when she started getting closer to Grace and broke up with her boyfriend she began to regain her ability to fly. But when she was losing weight in a very unhealthy way and running back to her ex she couldn't fly anymore. Dong Hee's inability to fly has nothing to do with her size and everything to do with her self esteem.

I-na and do dahee are my favorite characters honestly! They're similar in so many ways but also unique. I just…
The mothers are the real villains of the show and they are mirror images of each other trying to make money and using their children

I think my favorite role of Jang Ki Yong (where I was captivated most by his acting) was when he played the loan…
I think it's his best performance ever. he's nailing the character's grief and trauma but also doing really well in the funnier parts and in the lovesick parts

There's so many great things to comment on in this episode but something that jumped out at me is when Gwiju said it's possible his hyung saved Dahae and that she should live a better life out of gratitude. It was kind of shitty that he was guilting her but at the same time it opened the door to him letting go of the idea that he has to be the one to save her.
