They are going to turn out to have a lot in common, the grifter mother didn't allow Dong Hee to eat dinner because she had to maintain her figure. Sort of opposite sides of the same coin of messed up eating.

What character description are you referencing? I went looking for one but the only thing I've seen is the plot synopsis that says she begins to live with them and change occurs.

A lot of drama watchers can't handle a morally grey FL. Meanwhile they go crazy for straight up evil ML's.

I agree and something I found especially chilling was when the grandmother's husband says she's interested in the FL because she has no family so no one to cause trouble if something happens to her (it seems like the Gwiju's in-laws continue to have suspicions about her death).

I think it's supposed to be sinister because of what happened to Gwi-joo's wife and her parents having questions about the accident.

I really enjoyed the first episode except for the actress in the fat suit. The way they handled the character felt straight out of a 90s sitcom, it was embarrassing. I hope they improve on that because everything else was working for me. Like someone said below, the show has a very distinct vibe that feels more like a Korean film than a Kdrama. I like that the heroes aren't particularly nice people and that we're not strongly on anyone's side at the start.

The con artist family 100% reminded me of the poor family in Parasite.

I was so mad about her leaving the house just so SJ wouldn't get wet, that was the dumbest plot point ever. I hadn't thought about her 2 personas with SJ and TS but you're right. It doesn't bother me and the romance doesn't either because she was crushing on the adult SJ for years before she time traveled so of course she has feelings for him even when he's in high school. I do hope they hold off on any skinship until they are in the present, that would bring the ick.

No it's not most, it's definitely unfortunate that there are a lot of FLs like this but there's also plenty of dramas with fiercely independent FLs as well. I'd suggest watching Turn to Me, Mukai-kun for some great strong female characters
