Totally agree on the Princess. I expected her to have been through a lot since she has mentioned many times that her country owes her for having been a prisoner in Dai. But Li Meng really manage to bring out the pain and resentment that Wanning must've felt. I still want her to suffer for all the innocent lives she took, but I do get why she's crazy and wonder if she might've been a kinder person if it wasn't for her circumstances.

SYR, I don't know, I kind of just hate him (the character not the actor)😂. I still think he had many opportunities to do right by her. Even now, he's selfish by trying to make her marry him again. He clearly knows XFF doesn't need his protection anymore. She has XH. If he thinks that his low birth is what put him in a position to have to murder her, then he should know XH has more power and therefore better ability to protect her. SYR is what the Chinese called 伪君子, someone acting like he's all upright in front of everyone, but will sacrifice you behind your back and make up some excuse on why he had to do that. At least Wanning doesn't try to pretend she's something she's not.

I expected her to have an arc like the step mother. I do think it's already pretty bad... she was r*ped, beat, treated like an animal, and had multiple miscarriages that made her basically sterile. I don't know how long she lived like that 🤧

I must admit, Li Meng is such a great actress. She made me feel bad for Wanning in Ep 35. Even though I think she deserves what's coming to her and I don't condone her actions, I also understand why she turned out the way she did. Even her constant twirls now make sense. Everyone deals with obstacles and trauma differently. Some unleash their resentment on others (misery loves company), while some don't want to see other suffer because they've been through it. Wanning and XFF are truly foils to each other.

In that scene, SYR said they don't have her body because she was an accident in the mountain, the grave he set up for XFF is an empty coffin. Princess then said she doesn't want to open XFF's grave, but JL's and that she already found JL's grave in QingChen mountain.

Wanning can totally just murder her. She marches into court events and wreaks havoc in her own will. She even pulled a sword in front of the emperor. If she really just wanted to kill XFF, who was just a nobody's daughter, she could've. The whole excuse SYR used was that Wanning would kill his mom and sister, that's why he had to do it. They're just ants to her. So why would she not be able to just kill XFF if she wanted to? It's because she was a political prisoner with a "reputation" that she also wanted to ruin XFF's reputation. The whole set up by Wanning was extra cruel on purpose. And SYR's mother is a selfish b%$#%$.

Adultery is punishable by death, but SYR's story is that she had an accident in the mountains. He couldn't even find her body. If they really wanted to, they could've gotten rid of her similar to her brother or real Jiang Li's mother. Wanning can get away with anything. Ruining her reputation was just extra icing on the cake because SYR's mom and Wanning are are vicious.

When Wanning visited SYR in the prison and then just twirled on the haystack instead of her usual twirl, looking all confident

When Duke Su just rose up into the air like he said "Beam me up Scotty" and disappeared after lecturing JL/XFF

I hate them both, but I definitely hate her more. As a woman, she should know how important a woman's reputation is. Setting XFF up like that even though she knew she was going to die anyway, it's lower than murder in my opinion

XH: If this continues, she will be in danger
