I've been waiting for a remake of the Liao Zhai stories for years - even decades now! I know there's been a few mainland China adaptations in the early 2000's but the last one I watched was the TVB version 'Dark Tales' in the late 90's (at the height of TVB's popularity).

This show is slowly piquing my interest, I enjoyed Lu Chang's petty jealousy at the end of episode 7 when Qing Zhao starts showing interest in our FL.

It's a Ren Jialun / Ren Guochao drama - to have a kiss or any skinship in his dramas is already something. Though sometimes having no kisses in his dramas end up working out (e.g. One and Only).

Three things he is known for:
1) Professional table tennis player / table tennis prodigy
2) His acting
3) His non-existent kisses / intimate skinship with female leads
4) 'Biggest failure amongst celebrities who’ve changed their names'. Yes! I had to click on the Full Cast and Crew list of Ski Into Love to confirm whether it was Lu Yu Xiao playing Shan Shan. Very uncanny resemblance!

This is good news as this has been the most anticipated time travelling drama at the top of my to-watch list - also, it's Ni Ni - enough said. Sad to see Deng Lun replaced but this had to be done after how many years this has been sitting on the shelf. Maybe now the investors can finally get some of their money back.

I was just thinking the same thing. I even went on Baidu to see if his TV appearances included his role as Ji Chongyi in Si Jin and as of this moment, it doesn't.

To me, he looks like Chen Xin Hai. I actually thought Chen Xin Hai was Daniel Zhou when I watched The Double last year.

I was like, 'yea I saw what she did there' when she mentioned he looked like Gong Ziyu~ Also agree, I'm hoping for this to be a wholesome romance and I'm enjoying the he fell in love trope. He seems like a puppy dog eagerly waiting to see her again after the first encounter.

You're not the only one, I made a comment on his actor profile back when 'The Double' was airing that Liang Yong Qi looks like a mix between Zhu Yi Long and Wang Anyu~ The resemblance is uncanny, isn't it? :)

Yay, so glad you enjoyed JOL!! Don't worry, season 2 carries on from where the last episode ends in season 1. The only jarring difference from the opening scene is the change of actors for Yan Bing Yun (as well as all the other actors/actresses that were replaced as you'll realize later).

Season 2 doesn't have a special edition, the production one released a season 1 special edition (25 episodes) as a refresher so that fans didn't have to watch the entirety of season 1 (46 episodes) all over again since it was years until season 2 was released.
