Please don't start unrelated drama. There's no proof he did anything, ZLS fans attacked him based on unverified rumors that he changed the script or added scenes for side roles which upset her enough to quit for mental health.
Thing is Deng Ke has a good record of producing highly rated dramas back to back and Dylan Wang, Zhao Liying, Bai Jingting, Liu Yuning who all have huge fandoms have worked with DK without issue? He's also proved that despite uncertainty from Song Zuer's tax scandal, his company completed the post-editing of TPOB and still produced a hit (it will cross 30k and possibly be Tencent's top or top 3 dramas of 2025) without much promotional investment. In all the TPOB BTS and vlogs Liu Yuning posted, DK seems affable and smiley, but who knows.
For what's worth, around the time ZLS quit Almost Lover, she had some visible changes to her appearance and was harshly criticised online by Cnetz for getting work done. Just my theory but she probably suffered a lot of undue stress due to comments on her getting PS and became anorexic making it hard to continue filming. The important part is that unless she resumes filming (difficult since it's been months and most of the cast have moved on to other projects?) she may owe damages to Tencent/DengKe's company and the industry may not give her another project or trust her again after she wasted millions of dollars and time to dip out on a half completed drama. This is what ZLS fans need to be worried about, that she may not regain C-ent's trust to be casted again since they need to trust the lead actors won't waste tens of millions of investment.

It won't happen, as much as I love Leo x Zuer. Malicious Empress will have a 1st billed FL for sure as it's centred on the FL's revenge plot and Leo is more famous than Lareina so he'll never play a 2nd billed ML. Honestly I don't see New Classics Media handing Zuer the role because it's way too similar to TPOB they will find it hard to outshine TPOB if they can't offer something different. Bet it'll go to Bai Lu, Yang Zi or someone more established/popular/older than Lareina, a FL who can comfortably find a handsome and decent actor happy to take 2nd billing.
