The only plausible reason could be that he died and reborn. But unless his rebirth was in the form of an adult man like ty, his story with yunxi wouldn't fit in the timeline
Just a random thought. We know how terrifying Obsidian river is. To think that yh's mother can be so cruel. Abandoning her on a river alone is enough proof being heartless but atleast in case of a normal river, there are high chances of survival. Meanwhile no one can come out of obsidian river alive. Her mom basically attempted murder on her.

I think i am fine with her acting. She really pays attention to the details. Like when she was bewitched with that fox spell her expressions didn't make me cringe unlike how it was TSL(i loved the drama but some things need to be said).
If i have to point out one issue it has to be the dubbing artist. I may not understand the language but in some scenes i felt she spoke too fast and the intonation didn't fit into the situation. Although those instances are not many but i remember noting it down. On the other hand, whoever did Neo's dub was really good

All this while dumping the mighty millennium Dragon King who was ready to let go of his cultivation just to be with her. Maybe if she too moved on with her new lover she wouldn't have become so lonely. But then the drama wouldn't exist 😂.
