In the spirit of Monchi and Bielsista
On Koko wa Ima kara Rinri desu Feb 8, 2021
The tempo picks up steam once more in ep.4, the discussion between Takayanagi and the bartender aniki is tense and heavy. One can pity the aniki's character too despite how so twisted he is. Lots of philosophical discussion for a series this short.

Episode 5 looks like dealing with character with gender issue.

Takayanagi looks like someone who had quit twitter because he so tired of bullsh*ts that are rampant there lmao.…
Recently school-themed shows featuring real kids have been becoming more often. Just look at Ao no School Police, Muchuu sa Kimi ni, Alps Stand no Hashi no Hou, 17.3 About Sex.

Felt down after watching it. not because it was bad. but because it ended lol. Will miss this series. I have to…
Bando is indeed quite underrated, he does really well in Spy no Tsuma and one episode of Cold Case season 2 (the episode with Anna Yamada).

Edit: One of his classmate, the tall girl (Arakawa) seems also an interesting actress too. Can't wait to see her next projects as well.

I bet he will and remember he's a lawyer so he can easily defend himself in front of the court too.

Where can I watch this?
Since it was premiered in August 2020, we can expect it will be available online around late February or March. However, it seems unclear yet because from the official website the DVD release date hasn't been announced.

Edit: the release date of the DVD is March 3.

It's surprisingly well-made, pretty well-researched (for the genre), educative yet cute, and features a bunch of fresh young cast whose performances I had yet seen on screen. Just as other Abema-produced dramas, the cast is so dang good-looking, but they portray their roles well and I reckon they were chosen not only because of the looks too.

Really wacky premise to start with and so far it (ep.2) even leaves some plot holes. The concept of placing a policeman in a school to bust some serious problems and conspiracies in it by giving him such an impunity would be met by massive backlash from everyone including any policy makers. Heck it feels like a continuation of Battle Royale lol, like, what happens if Nanahara Shuya (ironically portrayed by the lead of this series) was granted a presidential pardon to return to society as a policeman.

In spite of that, the acting performances from everyone are quite enthusiastic, especially from the kids. Some REALLY good acting among the young cast (i.e. the girl in the second act of ep.1) and this factor alone makes it somehow work for me.

Second episode is less extreme than the pilot episode and instead going the subtle way (seems it cools the tense a bit), but boy it strikes close to heart and is so damn relevant.

If they keep the quality this way, it might become easily the best series of the season.

lol this kid is so tall. I believe she's 172+ cm (as in early 2021) and she isn't even 17. Her acting in Koko wa Ima Rinri is pretty good btw.

Yeah good luck for the director lol. Wakana and Yoshikawa Ai are manageable though, but the other one....
I meant judging from her acting performance in past projects, Kanna is wholly unsuitable to play the role, which almost certainly requires deals of subtle acting and expression.

I'm also worried about the cast. This is the kind of story that's carried by the acting. Tbh, I even wonder about…
Exactly. Mukai tends to suit so much better in more laid-back characters rather than very tense role like possibly this one. The same to lesser extent to Nakai Kiichi as well, although their acting styles aren't my biggest concerns btw (there is one MUCH more pressing issue, as in my previous comment).

First episode isn't bad at all. Some seriously messed up characters, perhaps including the teacher (they haven't revealed it yet though), curious see how things escalate in the next episodes.

From the first 2 episodes, I see no problem with the acting. ^^
Yeah it turns out that main male lead is kinda tolerable. Maybe has to do with the fact he doesn't speak that much and his character isn't that emotionally demanding even compared to others in the show.

I think the DVD will be out on 20th of January. It's already released in Youtube Movies a week prior to that date although can only be purchased or rented in Japan so far. Fingers crossed someone will upload it in the internet and make the English subtitle. Just saying.
