Damn this movie so intense, with even some R18 scenes (yeah you've been warned from this point on). It feels like Himizu for millenials, with young adults as lead characters instead teenagers. Heck even the premise of both is similar, so not much novelties in this aspect because it has been used many times. On the other hand, Sotoyama Bunji has truly unique directing and screenplay style, which is uncannily quite imaginative. Nijiro plays the character of his lifetime here, he blows me away with his acting and I will never think of him the same way again. Imou Haruka (whom arguably has the funniest surname in J-ent now, which means 'tuber grower' lol) also proves to be an even match to Nijiro. She reminds me of Nikaido Fumi's character in Himizu a lot, although her character here is even more destitude.
I intended to give 8.5/10 but considering the acting performance, I settle with 9.0/10 in the end.
She is the definition of 'Toumeikan' (透明感), which translates to someone with such bright and serene 'aura' that it feels like she is transparent (in a positive way). Still pretty competent youngster though and can improve a lot since she's still so young.
First saw her in "Hanbun, Aoi". She has a unique face. Quite pretty.
Her acting style is also quite unique and kinda unorthodox, especially the way she talks and handles expressions. Coupling that traits and her generally solid technical abilities, I think she could be a force to reckon with in near future.
This one is a refreshing and realistic movie in midst of sea of artificial and sugar-coated shows nowadays. For those familiar with movie "Gekijou" (the one with Mayu and Kento), it feels like this movie is its spiritual sister (indeed they were written by the same writer), especially when it comes to the particular type of relationship theme presented in both shows. It is just Boku Suki is more light-hearted and far less hear-wrenching than Gekijou. I like the way the writer tailors the dialogues in the movie, which sounds very real as if the actors weren't doing acting. Thanks to the script and the acting, it just comes very naturally. The chemistry and very convincing performances of the two leads Watanabe Daichi and Nao in particular make this show really enjoyable.
On side note, Watanabe Daichi seems to be the luckiest basterd in J-Cinema lol, why is this guy always got paired with girlfriend materials like Mayu (Katte ni Furetero), Kasumin (Kasumin no Satsukyuu), and Nao.
Very well executed short human drama about an unlikely encounter between two 'outcasts' of the society. At times it is kinda heart-wrenching to watch because it strikes close to reality but it's understandable due to such heavy topic. All cast members give realistic and grounded performances, especially newcomer Ono Rina whose character requires a great deal of non-verbal acting. Kid has such expressive eyes and gesture. By comparing her performance here and in previous shows she's in (particularly Alps Stand, Chuugakusei Nikki, and her bits in Cold Case 2), one can notice that she is quite a versatile youngster.
This one was kinda confusing but i still enjoyed it!
Yeah it is very experimental and not quite like typical Japanese movies. The ending is powerful too and I'm curious what would happen if Ogawa Sara handles bigger projects such as a full feature movie.
The website apparently says it was scheduled for this year's summer but they put it on hold for the time being.…
It is said the filming has been postponed indefinitely (perhaps until sometime next year) due to the ongoing pandemic, which makes perfect sense due to the size of the cast. BTW I'm curious about the young cast, currently there are tons of very good youngsters (those born around year 2000) out there who deserve to get a spotlight in this show.
Imou Haruka, Hagiwara Minori & Ishikawa Ruka, 3 actresses who got unique vibe different from a typical Japanese…
I think Minori is by far the most unique among them, even by indie actresses standard. She is in more flexible side and can shuffle between indies and mainstream scenes.
I intended to give 8.5/10 but considering the acting performance, I settle with 9.0/10 in the end.

EDIT: She's FANTASTIC in Itomichi
