THIS WAS SO GOOD. I haven't heard much about it and I've never had it recommended to me but because of Ji Sung I started watching it randomly one night. It blew me away! Every character was likable, the story made sense, the time travel was done well, and it wrapped up perfectly for me. I had a few very slight issues, but for a rom com in this genre it is so damn good. Though I started for Ji Sung, I'm now a huge fan of Han Ji Min as well!
And the female lead that starts out clutzy and dorky and plain and is transformed by the end into a beautiful,…
My Huckleberry Friends and Unrequited Love are good school dramas if you want smart, competent female leads. The female lead in Fifteen Years to Wait for Migratory Birds is also the smart one whereas the male in that one is actually the one who gets bad grades and improves throughout the show.
I think everyone has different opinions on every drama which is fine, but in my opinion it is worth watching.…
I haven't seen too many historical k dramas but I'm currently watching Mr. Sunshine that's set during the late 1800's. I'm about halfway through and it's super good.

I really loved Princess Agents but it has an incomplete ending and there's no chance of a season 2 so I don't usually recommend it (unless you really want to see a badass FL, then you MUST watch it lmao).
It's hard for me to decide which historical to watch too. There are so many from both China and Korea, it's difficult to choose. And they're all usually super long with 40+ episodes lol I know the struggle too well >.<
Side note, have you seen the trailer for Royal Nirvana? It's currently airing and it looks absolutely amazing. Once it's completed it will definitely be my first thing to watch, but that probably won't be until the end of December.
This show is supposed to be stupid and over the top. I enjoyed it for what it was but it is NOT the first c drama…
True but a lot of dramas are dubbed, and done much better. The male lead VA wasn't actually bad (I've just heard him in a million other dramas...), but that can't be said for the rest of the cast. Most of the voice actors in My Girlfriend is an Alien had that generic insincere C drama voice actor sound. They take away from the actual actor's performance and make the drama feel less unique (imo).
Thought i might give cdramas a try after watching a few kdramas...god that was a terrible first episode -_- I…

Try these instead ~ My Huckleberry Friends - nostalgic school drama All is Well - dysfunctional family centered drama Battle of Changsha - set during ww2 Story of Ming Lan - realistic historical set during the Song dynasty Boss and Me - workplace romcom (the sound on this one is a little shitty, but it is the actors' real voices. Also it's a bit cliche but I thought I should add a more fluffy show to the mix.)
A lot of C dramas are dubbed, but they are nowhere near as obvious as in My Girlfriend is an Alien. To my knowledge most of the dramas I mentioned are not dubbed. But if they were then it was the actors themselves who dubbed over and they did so properly. I hope you give C dramas another try! :D

The Story of Ming Lan is my favorite drama ever. I push everybody to watch it lol I'm obsessed! I'm super happy you enjoyed it!! I was so happy that they were just a normal family in that time and not royalty. It was so refreshing.
Zhao Li Ying (the lead actress in Ming Lan) has quite a few really good historical dramas, can't really go wrong with her work.
They work with other actors :Bai Lu worked swith ZXL, Lai Yi, HMH, and will work with LYX soon and another actor…
Oh boy lol here we go. I didn't say they were bad I don't know why you're so defensive. I have seen them paired with others, I have checked out their other work, and I still find them to be just okay actors. I'm not excited about seeing a third drama with this pairing. Everyone's allowed to have an opinion. You don't like Peng Xiao Ran and I really don't care because you don't affect me. I'm not attacking your idols so calm down.
I want to see them paired with other actors. It would expand both of their horizons and would help them improve. Idk I don't find either of them that great of actors honestly (not bad...just overrated for their skill level) but if the drama is good I'll still watch it.
This looks so good. The vibe from the trailer is super mature and seems to have a darker colour palette which I love (I hate bright idol looking dramas). Li Yi Tong is a favorite of mine and Luo Jin is amazing too. That sounds like their real voices in the trailer (at least it sounded like Li Yi Tong's to me), I hope they dubbed themselves in this one.
