I watched two episodes about six months ago and didn't watch any more because it didn't appeal to me. I went back and gave it another try recently and started liking it on episode 4 or 5. It's one that grows on you.

I've always wanted to watch Empress Ki but I got the ending completely spoiled for me so I'm waiting for my bitterness to go away before I start it lmao.

I hope you like Goodbye My Princess, it's one of my favorite dramas.

Lmao Ye Hua is one of the best male leads of all time, I think I'm in love with Mark Chao now haha. The dubbing used to really bother me but I've gotten accustomed to it. But the ones that aren't dubbed really stand out to me now.

I'm so happy her first drama back is a historical. And with Wang Yi Bo? I couldn't ask for a better combination.

Unfortunately most Chinese dramas are dubbed. I'm pretty sure the ML's voice here is also Ye Hua in Eternal Love and Yuwen Yue in Princess Agents.

This show is over the top, cliche, and goes in circles but I love it. The chemistry is so good and there's tons of skinship. Not really in the form of kisses (there are some but not a lot) but the leads are always touching each other and it feels natural. It's such a nice lighthearted drama so far and the leads are adorable.

I'm still on the Eun Seom x Tanya ship but the way Saya looks at Tanya kills me. He's so smitten it hurts.

Yes, this! She is incredibly badass! Her scenes are the only ones that gave me actual chills. I'm in love with her character and the decisions she's made up until this point were the best ones she could have made.

I watched the first episode and I'm interested to see more. I agree with you. I mean, I do love happy endings. But tragedies really strike a chord. If you haven't seen it, Goodbye My Princess is one of the best tragedies I've seen in a long time, I recommend it.

Honestly, the episodes fly by. I binged the whole thing in less than a week. Even with over 70 episodes I actually still wanted more (though the ending was super satisfying, no loose ends). If you dig realistic historicals with a slow burn romance and a smart competent FL, you'll love it.

The Story of Ming Lan isn't a xianxia but the ML is a grown ass man in that one too lol. No immature love at first sight, it actually takes time for the relationship to grow. The leads are also married in real life so their chemistry is super natural.

It's been a hot minute since I've seen this but if I'm remembering right, Yi Yang and Fang Fang are paired up and so are Xin Ya and Mu Nian.

Is this rated lower because people were pissed about the tragic ending or because it's actually bad? I've seen many quality dramas voted down just because people didn't like how they ended. Is this drama's rating deserved/is it worth watching?

I was in the middle. It was good but had its fair share of flaws. Still worth watching if you like fluffy shows with the typical cold man/warm woman romances. I'm in the minority though who thought the lead couple's chemistry was kind of awkward. But they could still be cute sometimes. I liked the friendships more. I wish both of the main CTF teams had more screen time that wasn't flashbacks because the time that was spent on them was adorable. It was still a really enjoyable drama overall and I gave it an 8/10.

She's rumored to do a new drama with director Zheng Xiao Long! I am so happy. She deserved her break, but I am ecstatic to see that she'll be acting again soon :D

If you google "Yu Zheng plagiarism" a ton of cases pop up, the biggest one ended with him having to pay 5 million rmb because his script was a direct ripoff of one of Chiung Yao's novels. He's a shady dude, I wish he had to face more severe consequences for his actions.
