Oh man that's disappointing. I just started reading the novel and have been really digging it so far, what a bummer.

That was me with Goodbye My Princess. But it was too late lol I had to keep watching.

1. The Story of Ming Lan (this one looked hella boring to me at first too but trust me, it's soooo fantastic. Best historical drama I've ever seen)
2. Goodbye My Princess
3. Princess Agents (open/incomplete ending, just an upfront warning)
4. Eternal Love (this one takes about ten episodes for it to really pick up)
5. Journey of Flower ( super shitty cgi that some people can't overlook but if you can then it's a really great drama)

I gotta add another Zhao Li Ying character, Ming Lan from the Story of Ming Lan. She was so freaking badass in the most subtle devious ways. My favorite female character ever.

Is there subs for this yet? I can't seem to find it.

Don't worry, he doesn't get a happy ending.

Woahh is he really only 24? I thought he was in his thirties for sure.

I wouldn't say painful. When the leads get together their past loves are done and over with, the SML pines a little bit too long for the FL but that's really it.

Can this be found anywhere? Raw or subbed?

I heard the beginning of the pillow book starts at Bai Qian and Ye Hua's wedding so fingers crossed Yang Mi and Mark Chao will make an appearance.

Yeah he seems like a pretty one dimensional actor, don't know how he's going to pull off the lead role in this one.

Ugh I know. This happened in the Legend of Dugu. The dude the FL initially loved and who loved her back wasn't going to live past 30 so they didn't stay together and it reeeeally pissed me off! They both ended up settling for other people and not being nearly as happy as they could have been together for the remainder of his life. I really hope they don't do that in this one.

Not really, the majority of people commenting are always criticizing her.

Ming Lan is such a special drama. I was able to get two different people who can't stand asian dramas in general to watch the entire thing, I can't believe how good it is. It's impossible (for me) to find anything even close to it. But if you did like it and want to find some other truly quality c dramas try All is Well (2019) for a modern one and Battle of Changsha (2014) for a good ass war drama.

Wtf this is hella risque for a chinese drama, let's see if it ever sees the light of day.
